If your Redmi Clip Neo will not pair, repeatedly disconnects, or shows as connected without sound, turn the headphones off and hold the power button for 10 seconds, until the indicator flashes. Xiaomi says this restores factory settings and returns the headphones to pairing mode. Forget the previous Bluetooth entry on your phone before pairing again. Xiaomi’s support pages identify this model as REDMI Headphones Neo; the steps below use that official name where it matters.
What the 10-second reset fixes
The reset is the most direct recovery when an old Bluetooth record, failed pairing attempt, or corrupted headphone setting is preventing a new connection. It clears the headphones’ factory settings and places them in pairing mode. It does not repair a damaged battery, a blocked phone Bluetooth radio, or physical hardware.
Use the least destructive check that matches your symptom. A volume check or a fresh pairing can solve a no-sound problem without changing settings; a factory reset is appropriate when the headphones will not enter a usable connection state.

| Symptom | Start with | Use the factory reset when |
|---|---|---|
| REDMI Headphones Neo does not appear or will not pair | Charge the headphones, confirm the indicator is flashing rapidly, move the phone close, and remove nearby interference. | The old Bluetooth record has been forgotten and a normal pairing attempt still fails. |
| Phone says connected, but music or calls have no sound | Raise media/call volume on both devices and check the phone’s selected audio output. | Volume is correct and re-pairing or the Xiaomi Earbuds App reset does not restore audio. |
| Bluetooth keeps disconnecting | Stay within approximately 10 meters, remove obstacles, charge the headphones, and leave areas with strong electromagnetic interference. | The connection still drops after those environmental and power checks. |
| Problem occurs on several phones or devices | Repeat the reset and test one device at a time. | Another-device testing fails as well; service may be required. |
Xiaomi lists low battery as a cause of an unstable Bluetooth connection, so charging is the first check rather than an optional extra. See the company’s pairing and connection FAQ.

Before resetting: three quick checks
Charge the headphones
Connect the headphones to a compatible USB charging cable and give them enough charge for a stable test. Xiaomi specifically warns that a low battery can prevent a stable connection. If the headphones switch off immediately or the indicator behaves inconsistently, finish charging before judging the Bluetooth result.
Confirm pairing mode
Turn the headphones on and look for a rapidly flashing indicator. Keep the phone nearby while pairing. Wi-Fi routers, other Bluetooth devices, and crowded wireless areas can interfere, so temporarily move away from them. If the indicator is not flashing rapidly, the phone may not discover the headphones even though Bluetooth is enabled.
Remove the old phone record
On Android, open the Bluetooth section of Settings, select REDMI Headphones Neo, and choose Forget, Unpair, or the equivalent label. On an iPhone, go to Settings > Bluetooth, tap the information button next to the headphones, and choose Forget This Device. Menu wording varies by phone and operating-system version, but the result must be removal of the saved device entry, not merely disconnection.

After forgetting the entry, switch Bluetooth off and back on. This gives the phone a clean discovery attempt before you change the headphones themselves.
How to reset REDMI Headphones Neo
- Power the headphones off. Do not begin the reset while they are still operating.
- Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds. Keep holding for the full interval rather than releasing when the light first changes.
- Watch for the indicator to flash. Xiaomi states that the flashing indicator confirms the factory reset and entry into pairing mode. The official instruction is documented in the REDMI Headphones Neo pairing FAQ.
- Leave the phone’s old record forgotten. If you did not remove it earlier, do so now before selecting the headphones again.
- Select REDMI Headphones Neo in the phone’s Bluetooth list. Keep the phone close and wait for the connection confirmation.
Pairing mode is not indefinite. Xiaomi says that if no connection is made within one minute, pairing mode ends and the indicator turns off. If that happens, start the pairing attempt again; if it repeatedly fails, repeat the complete sequence from charging through the reset rather than tapping the old saved entry.
Pair again cleanly on your phone
Android
- Open Settings and enter Bluetooth or Connected devices > Pair new device, depending on the phone.
- Make sure Bluetooth is on and wait for available devices to refresh.
- Tap REDMI Headphones Neo when it appears.
- Accept any pairing confirmation. If the phone asks for a permission related to nearby devices, allow it so discovery can complete.
- Play a short audio clip and verify that the output is the headphones, not the phone speaker or another remembered accessory.
iPhone
- Open Settings > Bluetooth and leave the screen open while the headphones are flashing.
- Tap REDMI Headphones Neo under Other Devices.
- Wait until the status changes to Connected, then play audio and confirm the output route.
If the name never appears, return to the indicator check. A phone cannot pair with a device that has already left pairing mode; Xiaomi’s one-minute limit means you may need to trigger the reset again.

When the phone says connected but there is no sound
A Bluetooth connection and an audio route are separate checks. Work through these in order so you do not reset repeatedly when the actual problem is volume or an audio-effect setting.
Check both volume controls
Raise the phone’s media volume while audio is playing and raise the headphone volume using its controls. For calls, also raise call volume during an active call. A phone can show Connected while media volume is muted or routed to a different output.
Reset gestures and audio effects in the companion app
Xiaomi’s no-sound guidance recommends resetting gestures and audio effects in the Xiaomi Earbuds App, then testing playback again. The app’s exact labels can vary by version, so use its device controls for the paired headphones and look for the reset option associated with gestures or audio effects. Do not assume that changing a sound preset has repaired the Bluetooth connection; test with a normal audio track afterward. The relevant Xiaomi instructions are in the no-sound FAQ.

Test another phone or device
Pair the headphones with a second phone, tablet, or computer after forgetting the first phone’s record. This separates a headphone-side problem from a phone-specific audio route or Bluetooth setting. If sound works on the second device, inspect the original phone’s output selector, volume, and Bluetooth entry instead of repeatedly resetting the headphones. If there is still no sound on the second device, continue with the reset and service checks.
How to stop repeated Bluetooth disconnections
Stay within the effective range
Xiaomi’s current support guidance gives an effective Bluetooth transmission distance of approximately 10 meters. Treat that as an approximate open-area limit, not a promise through walls or across several rooms. Keep the phone on the same side of obstacles where possible and test close to the headphones first.

Walls, furniture, routers, and other active Bluetooth devices can make a marginal connection drop. Move away from strong electromagnetic interference, temporarily disconnect unused Bluetooth accessories, and retry with the phone close to the headphones.

Charge before diagnosing range
A low battery can look like a range problem because the connection becomes unstable as power falls. Charge the headphones, then repeat the close-range test before concluding that the radio or hardware is faulty. Xiaomi’s disconnection guidance covers range, obstacles, power, and interference in its automatic-disconnection FAQ.
Reset only after the environment check
If the headphones stay connected beside the phone but drop at a distance, the environment or range is the more likely explanation. If they drop even at close range after charging and after the old pairing record has been removed, perform the 10-second reset and pair from scratch.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Non-destructive checks versus a factory reset
| Action | What it changes | When to choose it | What to expect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Charge the headphones | Restores available battery power; it does not erase settings. | Before every connection diagnosis, especially when drops are frequent. | A more stable test if low power was the cause. |
| Forget and re-pair on the phone | Removes the phone’s saved Bluetooth record. | The phone remembers the headphones but pairing or audio routing is stuck. | The device appears as a new pairing target. |
| Move closer and reduce interference | Changes the radio environment, not headphone settings. | Connections fail only at distance or in crowded wireless locations. | Improved stability within approximately 10 meters when range or interference was responsible. |
| 10-second headphone reset | Restores factory settings and enters pairing mode. | Pairing remains broken after charging and removal of the old record. | The indicator flashes; pairing must be completed within about one minute. |
| Another-device test | Changes the phone or source device. | No-sound or connection behavior is unclear on the original phone. | Evidence about whether the fault follows the headphones or stays with the phone. |
Common mistakes that make the reset appear ineffective
- Holding the button while the headphones are on: power them off first, then begin the 10-second hold.
- Releasing too soon: use a timer and keep holding until the indicator flashes.
- Keeping the old phone entry: forget or unpair the saved REDMI Headphones Neo record before selecting the newly advertised device.
- Waiting too long to select the device: pairing mode ends after one minute without a connection, according to Xiaomi.
- Testing with a nearly empty battery: charge before deciding the reset failed.
- Checking only the word “Connected”: verify media and call volume and confirm the audio output route.
- Testing through interference: perform the first post-reset test close to the phone and away from crowded wireless equipment.
When to stop troubleshooting and contact Xiaomi
Contact a local Xiaomi after-sales service center if the headphones still will not pair after charging, forgetting the phone record, completing the reset, and trying another device. The same escalation applies when they pair but produce no sound on multiple devices after volume and app audio-effect checks, or when they disconnect at close range in a low-interference area despite a full charge.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteHave the result of each test ready: whether the indicator flashed, whether the phone discovered the headphones within the one-minute window, whether another device paired, and whether audio worked there. That information helps service staff distinguish a phone configuration issue from a headphone-side fault. Xiaomi’s pairing, no-sound, and disconnection guidance all direct persistent failures toward local after-sales support.
