There is no separately documented “reset” command for the Genesis Configuration puzzles in All Hellraiser Revival. If the box is wrong, reconfigure it: cycle to the required shape, rotate the pieces until they match the hollow wall silhouette, and confirm. The walkthrough control layout is L1/R1 to change configuration, the sticks to rotate, A to confirm, and B to leave the interaction. Leaving the puzzle is not described as resetting it.
What “reset” means in the Genesis Configuration puzzle
The wording causes confusion because the puzzle lets you alter the configuration repeatedly, but the available walkthroughs do not identify a dedicated reset button, menu option, or command that returns the box to a starting state. In practical terms, a failed attempt is corrected in place. Continue cycling the configuration and rotating it until the current side fits the cut-out, then confirm.
Each Genesis Configuration has two sides. You solve the first side, then work on the reverse side in the same interaction. The target is not a universal code: the required silhouette changes from location to location, and the two sides of one puzzle can require completely different arrangements.

Controls shown in the walkthrough
The control labels below are the layout documented by the walkthrough, not a guarantee that every platform displays the same letters or shoulder-button names. Use the on-screen prompts if your platform presents a different mapping.
| Action | Documented control | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Change configuration | L1/R1 | Cycles the box through its available overall shapes. |
| Rotate the configuration | Sticks | Turns the selected shape so its openings, points, and blocks line up with the target. |
| Confirm | A | Attempts to place the current alignment into the wall cut-out. |
| Exit interaction | B | Leaves the puzzle interface; the guide does not describe this as a reset. |
Think of the controls as four separate operations rather than one combination. L1 and R1 choose the configuration’s broad structure. The sticks change its orientation. A submits the current match. B closes the interaction. If your prompts use different symbols, find the equivalent actions instead of relying on the letters above.
If you press the exit button because the arrangement looks wrong, re-enter the interaction and solve the same side again. Do not assume that exiting has erased the puzzle or restored a default configuration; no such behavior is documented.

Reset versus exit: the distinction that matters
| What you want to do | Action | What is documented |
|---|---|---|
| Fix a wrong shape | Use L1/R1, then rotate with the sticks | Reconfigure the current side until it matches the recess. |
| Submit a possible solution | Press A | A correct alignment slots into the cut-out and advances the sequence. |
| Stop interacting | Press B | Leaves the interface; it is not identified as a puzzle reset. |
| Start over from a documented default | No dedicated command listed | The walkthroughs do not establish one. |
This is why repeatedly searching the pause menu or trying to force a reset is unnecessary. The intended recovery is visual: look at the wall, choose the matching form, rotate it, and submit again. If you leave, simply return and use the same process.
How the puzzle works
Read the wall silhouette first
The empty recess in the wall is the answer key. Before changing anything, look at its outer contour and the internal gaps. Identify whether the target is broadly square, diamond-like, a pair of parallel forms, four corner blocks, or a border around a central star-like opening.
Shape is only the first condition. A configuration with the right outline can still be turned incorrectly. The lit point, open spaces, and side pieces must occupy the same positions as the recess. Treat the silhouette as a two-dimensional stencil rather than as a code made from a fixed number of button presses.
Cycle shape, then rotate
Use L1 or R1 to move through the box’s configurations until its overall outline resembles the recess. Then use the sticks to rotate that shape. It is usually faster to settle the broad form before fine-tuning orientation; rotating the wrong form can make the pieces appear close while leaving one opening in the wrong place.
Confirm only after every edge matches
Press A when the outline, central opening, lit point, and side pieces all line up. According to the AllThings. How guide, a correct confirmation slots the box into the wall cut-out and advances the sequence. If it does not slot in, remain on that side and adjust the shape or rotation rather than looking for a separate reset command.
Step-by-step method for a stuck or incorrect attempt
- Stop pressing confirm repeatedly. A failed confirmation does not require a special recovery sequence. Return your attention to the recess and compare the current box with it.
- Determine the target’s outer form. Decide whether the recess calls for a diamond, a square, two parallel pieces, four corner blocks, or a border surrounding a star-shaped center.
- Cycle to that form. Tap L1 or R1 until the box has the same broad structure. If the configuration has multiple openings, count their positions relative to the outer edge rather than relying on its color or apparent brightness.
- Rotate in small increments. Use the sticks to turn the shape. Check the direction of the lit point and the position of every open side after each adjustment.
- Compare all four sides. A match requires more than a similar outline. Check the top, bottom, left, and right edges, plus the center gap or star-like opening where one is present.
- Press A once. Watch for the box to slot into the recess and for the sequence to advance. That visible insertion is the useful success signal described by the guide.
- Repeat the process for the second side. The reverse side has its own target and is not necessarily a rotated version of the first side.
- Use B only when you need to leave. Exiting can help you reset your visual approach, but the available instructions do not state that it resets puzzle progress or provides a new starting configuration.
The five Genesis Configuration locations and their solutions
The table gives the route context. The detailed subsections describe the two target arrangements at each location. Exact stick rotations are not expressed as a universal number because the guides present the solutions as visual silhouettes; the recess in front of you is the authoritative orientation check.
| Puzzle | Where or when it appears | Story context |
|---|---|---|
| Sunny’s Pillar | Far end of the labyrinth ruins | Objective: “Free Sunny’s Soul” |
| Hand Statue | After collecting the Hand Statue from Bruno’s House | Opens the route to the next statue area |
| Head Statue | In the area opened by the Hand Statue | Available after picking up the Head Statue |
| Tongue Statue | After completing the Well Puzzle | Requires collecting the Tongue Statue piece |
| Factory Shrine | Shrine inside the factory near the elevator to Marlowe and Bruno | Final listed Genesis Configuration location |
Sunny’s Pillar
Sunny’s Pillar is encountered at the far end of the labyrinth ruins during the “Free Sunny’s Soul” objective.
Side one: Change the square configuration so that it presents as a diamond. The important distinction is the overall silhouette: the same square-based pieces must be turned so the point of the arrangement faces the corresponding point of the recess.
Side two: Arrange two parallel structures with their openings facing inward. Check the gap between the pair as well as the outside edges. If the two forms are parallel but their openings face away from each other, the outline may look close while the internal spaces remain wrong.

Hand Statue
This puzzle becomes available after you collect the Hand Statue from Bruno’s House.
Side one: Place the two boulder-like forms vertically, with one directly above the other. Match the stacked arrangement to the recess before confirming; a diagonal placement is not an equivalent solution.
Side two: Place the same pair horizontally, one on the left and one on the right. Confirm that the left-right spacing and the direction of each opening match the wall silhouette, not merely the fact that the pieces occupy opposite sides.

1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesHead Statue
The Head Statue puzzle is in the area opened by the Hand Statue, after you pick up the Head Statue.
Side one: Form a square with the correct face upward. The orientation matters: a square that has the right perimeter but the wrong face at the top will not align.
Side two: Create a border around a star-shaped center. The gaps rotate into the side positions, so inspect the openings at the left and right as well as the central star-like space. Do not treat this as a simple square; the side openings are part of the required silhouette.
Tongue Statue
The Tongue Statue configuration follows completion of the Well Puzzle and collection of the Tongue Statue piece.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Side one: Turn the square-based configuration until it looks like a diamond, using the recess to determine which point faces upward. This is the same broad shape change described for Sunny’s Pillar, but it is a separate puzzle and should be aligned against its own cut-out.
Side two: Put one block in each of the four corners. Check that all four corner positions are occupied and that the spaces between them correspond to the empty portions of the recess. A shape with only three correctly placed corners is not a partial success; continue rotating or cycling until all four match.
Factory Shrine
The Factory Shrine is on the shrine inside the factory, near the elevator leading to Marlowe and Bruno.
Side one: Repeat the square-to-diamond transformation. Use the Factory Shrine’s cut-out for the final orientation instead of assuming that the direction from an earlier diamond puzzle carries over unchanged.
Side two: Use the border-like arrangement with open sides around a star-shaped center, the pattern also described for the Head Statue. The side openings and central star must all line up before you confirm.

Quick comparison of the recurring solution patterns
Several locations reuse a broad visual idea, but they are not interchangeable button codes. Sunny’s Pillar, Tongue Statue, and Factory Shrine each include a square-to-diamond side. The Head Statue and Factory Shrine each include a border around a star-shaped center. The Hand Statue is the clearest pair transformation: vertical boulders on one side, horizontal boulders on the other. These similarities help you recognize a form, but the active wall recess still determines the final direction.
- Square to diamond: Sunny’s Pillar side one, Tongue Statue side one, and Factory Shrine side one.
- Parallel pair: Sunny’s Pillar side two, with openings facing inward.
- Stacked pair: Hand Statue side one, with one boulder-like form above the other.
- Side-by-side pair: Hand Statue side two, with one form left and one right.
- Square with a specified top face: Head Statue side one.
- Star-centered border: Head Statue side two and Factory Shrine side two.
- Four corner blocks: Tongue Statue side two.
Why a correct-looking arrangement may still fail
The shape is right but the orientation is wrong
Several solutions share a broad form, especially the square-to-diamond arrangements and the star-centered borders. Rotate the configuration until the lit point and side openings occupy the same positions as the recess. “Looks similar” is not enough if one point or gap is mirrored.
You solved the first side and are still blocked
Every Genesis Configuration has two sides. After the first side slots into place, inspect the reverse side rather than assuming the interaction is complete. The second target can be a different arrangement, such as a horizontal pair after a vertical pair or a corner-block pattern after a diamond.
You are using a solution from another location
The guides explicitly distinguish the five locations. A repeated pattern does not make the locations interchangeable: the Head Statue and Factory Shrine share a border-like pattern on one side, while Sunny’s Pillar, Tongue Statue, and Factory Shrine each include a square-to-diamond side. Always compare the current wall cut-out before applying a remembered shape.
The controls do not match your controller
The listed L1/R1, stick, A, and B layout comes from a particular guide. On another platform, the equivalent actions may be shown with different labels. Look for the game’s prompt for changing configuration, rotating, confirming, and exiting; preserve the action sequence even if the button names differ.
You pressed the exit button
B is documented as the exit control. The available instructions do not say that leaving clears a completed side, changes the puzzle state, or resets the box. Re-enter the interaction and inspect the target again. If the game presents a different state, follow the on-screen prompt rather than assuming that an exit is a reset feature.
You are matching the outside but ignoring the gaps
The guides’ descriptions depend on openings as well as solid pieces. Inward-facing openings on the parallel pair, side gaps around the star, and the empty spaces between corner blocks are all part of the match. Compare negative space deliberately; a solid outline alone can be misleading.

A reliable visual checklist
- Identify which side of the puzzle you are solving.
- Match the overall outline before fine rotation.
- Check the lit point or other distinctive tip against the recess.
- Verify every opening, corner block, and central gap.
- Confirm with the documented action only after the complete silhouette matches.
- Wait for the box to slot into the cut-out before treating the side as solved.
- Inspect the second side instead of repeating the first-side arrangement.
- Use the on-screen control prompts if your platform labels actions differently.
Progression notes and game context
These are story-gated puzzles rather than optional collectibles. Sunny’s Pillar is tied to “Free Sunny’s Soul”; the Hand Statue follows the item found at Bruno’s House; the Head Statue area opens through the Hand Statue; the Tongue Statue follows the Well Puzzle; and the Factory Shrine is reached inside the factory near the Marlowe-and-Bruno elevator.
All Hellraiser Revival is listed for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch 2, with Saber Interactive identified as publisher in a GamesRadar+ review published in October 2026. The walkthrough control labels were presented for a particular controller layout, so platform prompts can vary even though the silhouette-matching logic remains the same.
The solution descriptions and controls summarized here come from walkthroughs published or updated on October 10–11, 2026. They describe the five mandatory encounters, the two-side mechanic, and the visible success behavior: a correct confirmed alignment slots into the wall cut-out and advances the sequence.

Is there a real reset button for Genesis Configuration?
No dedicated reset command is documented. Reconfigure the current side with L1/R1, rotate it with the sticks, and confirm again. That is the supported retry method described by the walkthroughs.
Does pressing B reset the puzzle?
B is listed as the exit control, not as a reset. The instructions do not say that leaving clears progress, restores a default arrangement, or restarts a completed side. Re-enter and compare the box with the recess.

How many Genesis Configuration puzzles are there?
There are five mandatory story-progression puzzles: Sunny’s Pillar, Hand Statue, Head Statue, Tongue Statue, and Factory Shrine. Each has two sides to solve.
Do both sides use the same shape?
Not necessarily. The reverse side can require a completely different arrangement. For example, Hand Statue changes from a vertical pair to a horizontal pair, while Tongue Statue changes from a diamond-like form to four corner blocks.
What confirms that a side is solved?
Press A after the full silhouette matches. The useful success signal is the box slotting into the wall cut-out and the sequence advancing. If that does not happen, adjust the shape or orientation.

Only the broad pattern may repeat. Both include a square-to-diamond side, but each wall recess determines the correct orientation. Factory Shrine also repeats that broad form, so never rely on a remembered direction alone.
Why does the puzzle look aligned but refuse to accept?
Usually one detail is still wrong: a lit point is facing the wrong way, an opening is mirrored, a top face is incorrect, or a central gap does not match. Check all four edges and the negative space before pressing A again.
What should I do after solving the first side?
Continue within the same interaction and inspect the reverse side. Every Genesis Configuration has two targets, and the second one is not automatically the first arrangement turned around.
Are the listed buttons identical on every platform?
No guarantee is given. The documented layout is L1/R1 to change configuration, sticks to rotate, A to confirm, and B to exit. Use your game’s on-screen prompts if the platform uses different labels.
Bottom line
“Reset” means reconfigure, not restart. Match the wall cut-out’s broad shape, rotate every point and opening into place, press the confirm action, and wait for the box to slot in. If you need to leave, use the exit action, but do not treat it as a documented reset. Solve both sides at each of the five locations, using the current recess as the final authority.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a dedicated reset command?
No. The documented method is to cycle the configuration, rotate it to match the wall silhouette, and confirm.
Does exiting with B erase progress?
B leaves the interaction. The walkthroughs do not identify it as a reset or as an action that clears a solved side.
How many puzzles must I complete?
Five mandatory encounters: Sunny’s Pillar, Hand Statue, Head Statue, Tongue Statue, and Factory Shrine. Each has two sides.
What proves that my alignment worked?
A correct confirmation slots the box into the wall cut-out and advances the sequence.
Why can a familiar pattern still fail?
The broad shape may repeat, but the required orientation, openings, lit point, or central gap can differ. Match the active recess every time.
The Bottom Line
There is no documented reset button. Reconfigure and rotate the current side until every part matches the wall cut-out, confirm, then solve the reverse side. Use the exit control only to leave the interaction.
