To research UMS Integration Limited before investing, start with the correct SGX issuer record (ticker 558, security code SG1J94892465), collect the latest results and annual report, normalize the numbers for period and share-count changes, then test cash generation, customer and geographic exposure, capital actions, management forecasts and valuation. The available filings show FY2025 profit growth but much weaker free-cash-flow conversion, and an October 2026 placement that changes the share-count basis.

That evidence is enough to build a disciplined research file, not to call the shares cheap or expensive. The reviewed material does not establish a current share price, market capitalization, valuation multiples or peer valuation as of 13 October 2026, so a buy-or-sell conclusion requires fresh market data and the full placement documents.

1. Confirm the issuer before reading the numbers

Search SGX for UMS Integration Limited, ticker 558, and security code SG1J94892465. This prevents a common error: attaching a result, dividend or corporate action to the wrong security or to an old share-count record.

Use the company’s UMS investor-relations page as the index for company announcements, results and annual reports, then cross-check the same filings in SGX’s issuer announcement and listing records. Record the filing date, the period covered, the reporting currency (Singapore dollars in the FY2025 figures), and whether a number is historical, proposed or forecast.

Build a dated document pack

Document Date or period What to extract
FY2025 full-year results announcement Broadcast 27 February 2026; year ended 31 December 2025 Revenue, profit, segment and geographic commentary, cash-flow figures and management explanations
FY2025 annual report Filed 13 April 2026; year ended 31 December 2025 Audited statements, share capital, dividend policy, risks, related disclosures and accounting notes
FY2025 Letter to Shareholders 2026 Management’s strategy, customer and market outlook, contract commentary and attributed industry forecasts
October 2026 placement listing announcement October 2026 New-share count, existing-share count, offer price, listing status and the attachment describing the transaction

Save each document with its date. When a later announcement changes a figure or share count, keep the earlier version in your notes and mark which number is now current.

2. Establish the FY2025 operating baseline

For the year ended 31 December 2025, UMS reported revenue of S$251.1 million, up 4% from S$242.1 million in FY2024, and net attributable profit of S$41.6 million, up 2% from S$40.6 million. These are company-reported historical results, not forecasts.

Measure FY2025 FY2024 comparison Change Research use
Revenue S$251.1 million S$242.1 million Up 4% Check whether growth came from volume, price, mix, acquisitions or timing
Net attributable profit S$41.6 million S$40.6 million Up 2% Compare profit growth with revenue and cash conversion
Net cash from operating activities S$39.7 million S$55.2 million Lower year on year Inspect working capital, especially inventory and receivables
Free cash flow S$2.1 million S$22.9 million Lower year on year Assess how much cash remains after capital expenditure
Declared and proposed FY2025 dividends 5.0 Singapore cents per share Not stated in the reviewed material Includes a proposed 2.0-cent final dividend Treat as a proposal and historical distribution, not a guaranteed yield

The immediate analytical question is not simply whether profit rose. It is why operating cash flow and free cash flow fell while earnings increased, and whether the cause is temporary investment for growth or a persistent working-capital problem.

3. Decompose the business by segment and geography

UMS’s FY2025 revenue movement was uneven. Semiconductor revenue increased 5%, while aerospace sales decreased 7%. Within semiconductor activities, component sales grew 10% to S$121.2 million, whereas integrated-system sales declined 1% to S$93.5 million.

Business or region FY2025 movement Figure supplied Questions to investigate in the filings
Semiconductor revenue Up 5% Percentage change Which customers, products and orders drove the increase?
Semiconductor components Up 10% S$121.2 million Was growth volume-led, mix-led or related to a particular customer?
Semiconductor integrated systems Down 1% S$93.5 million Were deliveries delayed, or is demand changing?
Aerospace Down 7% Percentage change Is the weakness cyclical, program-specific or structural?
Malaysia Up 91% Percentage change Does the jump reflect a low base, capacity ramp or customer transfer?
Taiwan Up 10% Percentage change How durable is the customer and product contribution?
United States Down 21% Percentage change What explains the decline and when might demand recover?
Singapore Down 4% Percentage change Is the change tied to order timing or a continuing trend?

Do not turn one year’s mix into a forecast. Instead, compare at least three reporting periods, identify the largest customers and end markets disclosed in the annual report, and check whether a regional increase reflects production moving between facilities rather than new end demand.

Check concentration and order timing

  • Read customer-concentration notes and determine whether a small number of global customers account for a material share of sales.
  • Compare order commentary with recognized revenue; a contract announcement does not equal delivered revenue.
  • Separate recurring programs from one-off projects, qualification work and backlog that still depends on customer release schedules.
  • Track segment gross margin, if disclosed, rather than assuming the fastest-growing segment is the most profitable.

4. Test cash conversion, inventory and expansion spending

FY2025 operating cash flow was S$39.7 million, compared with S$55.2 million in FY2024. Free cash flow fell to S$2.1 million from S$22.9 million. UMS attributed the lower free cash flow mainly to a higher inventory balance and capital expenditure for its Penang expansion, intended to support an expected production ramp-up.

Use the cash-flow statement and balance-sheet notes to answer four separate questions:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  1. Inventory: How much did inventory rise, which categories increased, and did inventory days move faster than revenue?
  2. Capital expenditure: Which projects were funded, what portion was maintenance versus expansion, and when is the Penang capacity expected to contribute?
  3. Utilization: Do later filings show customer qualification, equipment installation, hiring and production ramp evidence?
  4. Conversion: Over several years, does operating cash flow broadly follow profit, or do working-capital swings repeatedly absorb earnings?

Profit growth and free-cash-flow growth answer different questions. Profit measures accounting performance for the period; free cash flow shows what remains after operating needs and capital expenditure. A temporary investment cycle can be sensible, but the thesis should specify what utilization, revenue or cash milestone would confirm that the spending is paying off.

5. Read the dividend as a policy decision, not a promised yield

The board proposed a final FY2025 dividend of 2.0 Singapore cents per ordinary share, bringing declared and proposed FY2025 dividends to 5.0 cents per share. The annual report says dividend amounts depend on earnings, financial position, capital expenditure, future expansion and investment plans, among other factors.

Before using the dividend in a return estimate, check whether the payment is approved, the record and payment dates, the post-bonus-issue share basis, and whether the company’s expansion needs could alter future distributions. A historical distribution can be part of a total-return model, but it is not a fixed coupon or a guaranteed future yield.

6. Analyze the October 2026 placement and dilution

The October 2026 SGX placement listing record reports 52,941,100 new shares, 888,167,856 existing outstanding shares and an offer price of S$2.66. The announcement records the new shares as listed and quoted.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
Placement item Recorded term Why it matters
New shares 52,941,100 Increases the denominator for earnings per share and ownership percentages
Existing outstanding shares 888,167,856 Provides the pre-placement basis shown in the listing record
Offer price S$2.66 per share Reference price for the placement, not automatically the current market price
Simple post-placement arithmetic 941,108,956 shares, before any other changes Use only after confirming the exact effective date and share-count basis

Dividing the new shares by the recorded pre-placement shares gives an increase of about 6.0% in the share count. If an existing holder did not participate, that holder’s percentage claim on the enlarged share base would fall by roughly 5.6%, subject to confirmation of the final issued-share register and any other corporate actions.

The reviewed listing record does not establish the complete placement rationale or the allocation of proceeds. Do not infer that the money is earmarked for a particular factory, acquisition, debt repayment or working-capital need. Read the full attachment and subsequent company disclosures before making that claim. Recalculate earnings per share, dividends per share, market capitalization and ownership using the post-placement basis.

Remember the January 2026 bonus issue

UMS completed a 1-for-4 bonus issue in January 2026. When comparing older per-share figures with FY2025 or post-placement figures, confirm whether each document has been restated for the bonus issue. A raw comparison can make an unchanged economic amount appear to move simply because the number of shares changed.

7. Separate management outlook from evidence

In the FY2025 Letter to Shareholders, management said UMS entered FY2026 with a renewed three-year integrated-system contract and progressing new-product pipelines. It also said its two key global customers forecast robust demand growth for 2026 and 2027, and identified advanced packaging linked with high-bandwidth memory and advanced logic as an opportunity.

These are management statements. Test them against subsequent evidence rather than treating them as forecasts you can underwrite automatically:

  • Reported revenue and orders from the named programs.
  • Customer announcements, qualification milestones and production releases.
  • Capacity utilization, hiring, equipment installation and Penang ramp progress.
  • Gross margin, inventory turns, operating cash flow and free cash flow as growth investments continue.
  • Any change in customer concentration or geography that increases execution risk.

The letter also cites SEMI’s forecast of US$156 billion in global semiconductor manufacturing equipment sales in 2027. This is an industry forecast from SEMI, as cited in UMS Integration Limited’s FY2025 shareholder letter in 2026; it is not a UMS sales forecast or a guarantee of UMS results.

Management’s stated priorities are captured in the sentence Our strategy remains clear: — Andy Luong, Chief Executive Officer, UMS Integration Limited, FY2025 shareholder letter, 2026. The listed priorities are deepening partnerships with key customers, capturing advanced semiconductor-packaging opportunities, improving manufacturing execution, focusing on high-value-add critical semiconductor components and maintaining strong financial management. Record these as stated intentions, then assign an observable metric to each one.

8. Build a valuation model only after updating the share count

The reviewed material does not establish UMS’s current share price, market capitalization, price-to-earnings ratio, price-to-free-cash-flow ratio, enterprise value, or peer multiples as of 13 October 2026. Obtain a clearly dated market price and verify the issued and diluted share count after the placement and any other corporate action.

Minimum valuation worksheet

Input How to obtain or calculate it Control to apply
Market capitalization Current share price multiplied by the verified post-placement issued shares State the price date and whether treasury or unissued shares are excluded
Price-to-earnings Market capitalization divided by attributable earnings, using a matching twelve-month period Do not mix FY2025 profit with a later share count without explaining the basis
Price-to-free-cash-flow Market capitalization divided by a normalized or reported free-cash-flow measure Explain whether expansion spending is treated as recurring, temporary or normalized
Enterprise value Market capitalization plus debt and other claims, less cash, from the latest balance sheet Use the same reporting date for debt and cash
Growth case Model segment revenue, margins, capital expenditure and working capital separately Label assumptions as your assumptions, not company guidance

Use at least three cases: a conservative case with slower customer demand and continuing investment, a base case tied to documented order and capacity evidence, and an upside case that requires explicit contract, utilization and margin milestones. A multiple is meaningful only when the earnings period, currency, accounting measure, dilution basis and growth assumptions match.

9. A repeatable step-by-step research process

  1. Identify the security: Write down the issuer name, ticker 558 and security code SG1J94892465 before opening spreadsheets.
  2. Download the latest primary documents: Start at the UMS investor-relations page and retrieve the latest results, annual report, shareholder letter and SGX corporate-action records.
  3. Create a period column: Label every number FY2024, FY2025, interim 2026 or another exact period; never leave a spreadsheet cell undated.
  4. Normalize currency and units: Keep Singapore-dollar figures together, identify any US-dollar industry statistic, and distinguish millions from per-share cents.
  5. Reconcile the income statement: Compare revenue, operating profit if disclosed, attributable profit and margins with the prior period.
  6. Map segment and geography: Track semiconductor components, integrated systems, aerospace and each reported region separately.
  7. Bridge profit to cash: Review operating cash flow, inventory, receivables, payables, capital expenditure and free cash flow.
  8. Update corporate actions: Apply the January 2026 bonus issue and October 2026 placement to per-share calculations and ownership analysis.
  9. Tag every outlook statement: Mark it as historical fact, management statement or external industry forecast, and list the evidence that would confirm or disprove it.
  10. Calculate valuation: Insert a fresh, dated price and the verified post-placement share count only after steps 1–8 are complete.
  11. Write the thesis and disconfirmers: State why earnings and cash could improve, what could impair them, and which filing or operating metric would change your view.
  12. Set a review date: Revisit the thesis after the next results, any placement-proceeds disclosure, major customer update or material capacity announcement.

10. What to check before buying UMS shares

  • Is the price current and dated, rather than the S$2.66 placement price being mistaken for a live quote?
  • Does the market-capitalization calculation use the enlarged share count after the placement?
  • Have you checked whether FY2025 per-share figures reflect the 1-for-4 bonus issue?
  • Can the Penang expansion produce enough incremental revenue and cash to justify its inventory and capital demands?
  • Are semiconductor component gains offset by weaker integrated-system or aerospace activity?
  • What explains the 91% Malaysia increase and the 21% US decrease?
  • How concentrated are revenue and future growth among the two key global customers?
  • Are customer forecasts supported by orders, qualification, utilization and subsequent reported sales?
  • Is free cash flow recovering, or is inventory and capital expenditure continuing to absorb operating cash?
  • Can the company sustain dividends while funding expansion and meeting any new financing obligations?
  • Have you read the full placement attachment and confirmed how proceeds are allocated?
  • Are your valuation assumptions independent of management’s optimistic case?

11. Common research mistakes and fixes

Mistaking industry growth for company growth

A semiconductor-equipment forecast can describe the addressable environment, but it does not prove UMS will grow at the same rate. Require company-level orders, shipments, capacity and cash evidence.

Using revenue growth as a proxy for investment quality

FY2025 revenue and profit increased while free cash flow declined. Read the working-capital and capital-expenditure notes before concluding that growth is self-funded.

Ignoring share-count changes

The bonus issue and placement can change per-share earnings, ownership and valuation even if total company profit is unchanged. Keep a corporate-action log beside the income statement.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Calling a proposed dividend guaranteed income

Use the board proposal and annual-report policy as dated information. Future dividends remain dependent on earnings, financial position, capital expenditure and investment plans.

Inferring use of placement proceeds

The listing record supplies terms, but the reviewed material does not establish the complete rationale or allocation. Wait for the full attachment and follow-up disclosures.

Comparing mismatched multiples

Do not compare a trailing multiple for one company with a forward multiple for another, or Singapore-dollar earnings with a different currency and period. Align period, currency, accounting basis, dilution and price date first.

12. What the evidence supports—and what it does not

The primary-source record supports a clear starting picture: UMS Integration Limited is an SGX-listed semiconductor and aerospace supplier; FY2025 revenue and attributable profit were modestly higher than FY2024; semiconductor components grew while integrated systems and aerospace declined; operating cash flow stayed positive but free cash flow fell during inventory build and Penang expansion spending; and the October 2026 placement added 52,941,100 shares at S$2.66 according to the SGX listing record.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

It does not, by itself, establish that the shares are attractively valued. A defensible investment decision still requires a fresh price, a verified post-placement share count, the placement’s stated proceeds use, normalized cash-flow assumptions and evidence that management’s contract, customer-demand and advanced-packaging outlook is translating into reported results. Information in this guide reflects filings and announcements checked through 13 October 2026; verify later disclosures before acting.
