Use DMZ’s in-game Report Player control to report suspected cheating or an unfair advantage. Activision’s currently published step-by-step instructions are for Warzone rather than a dedicated DMZ guide, so the button names and menu positions may differ slightly in DMZ. The documented route is to select the player, open their profile, choose Report Player, select the most accurate reason, and send one good-faith report.
Do not use Activision’s security-vulnerability form for an individual player. Activision directs cheater reports to the in-game reporting option instead.
What counts as cheating or an unfair advantage?
The Call of Duty Code of Conduct says that using cheats, including third-party software, is unacceptable. It also treats exploiting bugs or engaging in other conduct that grants an unfair advantage as cheating. The rule is broader than a visible aimbot or other obvious program. If a player appears to be using a game flaw or another method to bypass normal rules and gain an advantage, that conduct can fall within the same standard.

That does not mean every surprising play is proof. A suspicious death, an unusually accurate shot, a fast reaction, or a player seeming to know your position can have an ordinary explanation. Lag, sound cues, a UAV, a teammate’s callout, or a legitimate line of sight may make a moment look unusual. The purpose of the report is to give Activision a lead to review, not to make a public finding that an account is guilty.

Describe what you actually saw and choose the closest available reason. A factual report is stronger than an accusation based only on frustration. If you are uncertain whether an action was a bug exploit or simply a skilled play, state the observable behavior through the reason that most closely matches it and let Activision assess the account.
When should you report a player?
Report when you genuinely believe the conduct merits review under the Code of Conduct: suspected third-party cheat software, an apparent exploit of a bug, or another action that gives an unfair advantage. You can report during the match, from the lobby, or later through the Social menu’s player lists. You do not need to wait for a particular type of match result before using the control.
Do not report someone merely because they defeated you, extracted with better equipment, used a tactic you dislike, or made a competitive decision that was allowed by the game. A report is not a substitute for settling an argument with a teammate or opponent. Activision’s January 17, 2025 community update also identifies malicious reporting as contrary to the Security and Enforcement Policy, so use the feature only for a sincere concern.

Activision’s “Reporting a Player in Call of Duty: Warzone” guide, updated July 10, 2025, documents the following controls. They are the closest official instructions available for DMZ; treat them as the expected path, not a guarantee that every DMZ label is identical.
- Open the scoreboard. Press View on Xbox, the Touchpad on PlayStation, or Tab on PC. The control opens the current match’s player list.
- Highlight the suspected player. Move through the scoreboard until the account whose conduct you want reviewed is selected. Check the displayed name carefully before opening any menu.
- Open the player’s profile. Choose View Profile. This is the documented route from the scoreboard to the account actions.
- Choose Report Player. Select the reporting action on the profile. The game then presents the available report reasons.
- Review the descriptions. Read the wording for each reason and select the one that best matches what you observed. More than one reason may be selected when several accurately apply.
- Send the report. Select Send Report to submit it. If you also want to stop further interaction through the available social features, the form offers Report & Block Player.
The scoreboard route is useful when the event has just happened because the player is already visible in the match list. It also reduces the chance of selecting a similarly named account from a different list. If the player has left or the match has ended, use the lobby or Social route instead.
If DMZ uses a different label, look for the equivalent player-profile or social-menu action. Do not assume that a missing word-for-word label means reporting is unavailable; menus can vary by platform, mode, or update.
Which button opens the scoreboard?
The Warzone instructions map the scoreboard to the platform’s standard control: View on Xbox, Touchpad on PlayStation, and Tab on PC. These names describe the official Warzone procedure, not a promise that every DMZ control scheme is unchanged. If you use a customized layout or accessibility setting, use the control assigned to the scoreboard in your current build.
Once the list is open, the important sequence is consistent: highlight the account, open View Profile, select Report Player, choose an accurate reason, and submit. The label may be shortened or placed in an overflow menu, but the function should remain a player-profile report rather than a general feedback form.
Other documented routes: lobby and Social menu
You do not have to wait until the next match to report someone. The same Activision guide describes routes from the player list and Social menu. These options are useful when you remember the conduct after leaving a match or when the scoreboard is no longer available.

From the lobby player list
- Open the lobby’s player list.
- Highlight the account you want to report.
- Open View Profile.
- Select Report Player.
- Choose the applicable reason or reasons, then select Send Report. Use Report & Block Player if you also want to prevent further contact through the available social features.
Pause long enough to confirm the name and platform details shown on the profile. Lobby lists can contain several party members or recent opponents, and a report applies to the account you select. If the player is no longer listed, the Social menu’s Recent tab may provide the corresponding entry.
From Social
- Open the Social menu.
- Go to either the Party & Friends tab or the Recent tab.
- Highlight the relevant player and open the profile.
- Choose Report Player, select the appropriate reason or reasons, and submit with Send Report.
The Social route is the documented alternative when the player is a friend, party member, or recent player rather than someone currently visible in a match. It follows the same profile-and-reason process, so you should apply the same standard of careful, good-faith reporting.

There is no separate penalty or priority stated for any of the three entry points. Choose the location where you can identify the correct account most reliably.
- During a match: use the scoreboard while the player is visible and the incident is fresh.
- In the lobby: use the player list after the match or before queueing again.
- In Social: use Party & Friends or Recent when the account is no longer on the active scoreboard.
All three documented routes lead to a profile, the Report Player action, the reason descriptions, and Send Report. DMZ may arrange these controls differently, but the underlying choice is where the player can be selected accurately.
How to choose a useful report reason
The form asks you to review descriptions and select the most appropriate reason. Choose the narrowest accurate description rather than every option that sounds possible. Multiple reasons are allowed, but selecting several should reflect distinct conduct you actually observed.
- Describe observable behavior. Recall the sequence, not just the outcome. For example, you may have seen conduct that appeared to exploit a bug or actions that could not be explained by ordinary game mechanics. Select the reason whose description matches that observation.
- Separate suspicion from certainty. You are flagging an account for review. Do not present an unverified conclusion as an established fact or claim that you know what software another person used.
- Use the current wording. Read the reason descriptions in the form instead of relying on a label remembered from an older update. The available choices and wording can change with the game interface.
- Report the correct account. Check the selected name before sending, especially when several players have similar tags or when you are reporting from a broad Recent list.
- Keep the report focused. Choose more than one reason only when each selected category is supported by what you saw. Filling every category can make a report less precise.
A useful report does not require you to reproduce a technical explanation. You do not need to diagnose the tool, identify a specific exploit name, or decide the final penalty. The relevant information is the account and the conduct that caused a reasonable suspicion of cheating or an unfair advantage.

Activision’s documented form includes Report & Block Player as an option. Use it when you want to submit the report and also block the account through the social features available in your current build. Blocking is a separate practical choice from the review itself; selecting it does not turn a suspicion into a confirmed violation and does not guarantee a particular enforcement result.
If you only want Activision to review the conduct, select the report submission option without blocking. Either way, verify the account and reason before sending.
Can you attach a video or screenshot?
Activision’s published player-report instructions do not establish that a video, screenshot, or other attachment can be added to the in-game report. Do not promise that uploading evidence is part of the documented process. If the current form presents an option that is not described in the July 10, 2025 guide, follow the wording shown in the game without assuming that an attachment guarantees action.

The safest approach is to make the report itself accurate: select the right account, choose the reason that matches the observed conduct, and submit once. Avoid posting accusations publicly or treating a clip as a final determination. The in-game report remains the channel Activision identifies for suspected cheaters.

What Activision may do after a report
Activision says reports are reviewed as soon as possible and that it may take appropriate action, including a warning, suspension, or ban. Those are possible outcomes, not promises. A report does not guarantee that the account will be penalized, and the published guidance gives no fixed review timeline.
The review can result in no visible action if the available information does not establish a violation. That possibility is why the report should describe what you observed rather than demand a particular punishment. Do not claim that a submitted report proves cheating or that an account has been banned simply because you reported it.
The reported player may be notified that a report was made and may be told the reason, but Activision says it will not disclose who submitted it. Because of confidentiality, the reporter does not receive an account-specific result. You should therefore not expect a confirmation explaining whether the player was warned, suspended, or banned.
Is there a review timeline or confirmation?
The official guidance says reports are reviewed as soon as possible, but it does not give a guaranteed number of hours or days. It also does not promise a personalized confirmation message to the reporter. After selecting Send Report, you should treat the submission as complete and avoid trying to create a second report to obtain a status update.

If you continue seeing the same account, do not infer from the lack of a visible penalty that Activision ignored the report. The reported player may be under review, may not have violated a rule, or may have been handled in a way that is not disclosed to you.
Do not spam or weaponize reports
Activision’s January 17, 2025 Call of Duty community update says repeated report-button presses by one player against another do not count as more than one report. Repeating the same allegation will not create additional report credit or increase the stated weight of the original report.
The same update identifies malicious reporting as contrary to the Security and Enforcement Policy. Do not file retaliatory reports because you lost a fight, disagreed with a teammate, disliked a loadout, or want to punish a player for ordinary competitive behavior. Do not coordinate repeated submissions against an account simply because other players are angry with it.
Submit one complete, factual report. If you later encounter genuinely different conduct, use your judgment about the current in-game process, but do not manufacture multiple allegations from the same incident. Good-faith reporting protects the purpose of the system; report spam can misuse it.

Use the right channel for security vulnerabilities
Activision has a separate “Report Security Issues” page, but it is for game-security vulnerabilities rather than individual cheater reports. Its instruction is explicit: “This form is for reporting game security vulnerabilities only. To report a cheater, please use the in-game Report Player option.”
A vulnerability report concerns a flaw in the game or service itself, such as a security weakness that needs to be disclosed to the security team. An individual account suspected of exploiting a bug or using prohibited software belongs in the in-game player-report flow. Sending an account accusation through the vulnerability form is the wrong channel and does not replace the in-game report.
Use the security page only when your concern is the underlying security vulnerability, not when you want action against a particular player. For a suspected cheater in DMZ, the official direction is still the player-profile report inside the game.
If the DMZ menu does not match the instructions
Activision’s support index currently surfaces Warzone and Modern Warfare II reporting material, but no dedicated DMZ reporting article. That limitation matters: the procedure above is an official Call of Duty reporting model, not an independently verified map of every DMZ screen.

- Open the player’s profile or the equivalent account-details menu.
- Find an action labelled Report Player, Report, or a clearly equivalent option.
- Read the current reason descriptions before choosing one.
- Confirm the selected account, then submit once.
If a platform update moves the option, check the player’s profile from another available location. A player listed in Social may still be reachable through Recent even when the scoreboard no longer contains the match. Do not substitute a general complaint form or the security-vulnerability form merely because the DMZ screen is organized differently.
Because the exact DMZ interface has not been independently verified here, do not rely on a remembered screenshot or an older button position. Follow the labels in the current build and preserve the essential sequence: identify the account, open its profile, select the reporting action, choose the accurate reason, and send one report.

- Send one good-faith report and avoid repeated or retaliatory submissions.
- Do not use the security-vulnerability form for an individual player.
- Do not expect the identity of the reporter or an account-specific outcome to be disclosed.

Can I report someone after leaving the match?
