Do not sign in, pay, scan a QR code, or submit personal information on a website that imitates PlayStation Store. Close the page, copy its URL without reopening it, and contact official PlayStation Support to describe the suspected clone. If the scam appeared in a PlayStation message, profile, or other PSN content, use the platform’s Report function on that specific item instead. These are different reporting paths: an independent website goes to consumer support, while content hosted on PSN is reported in the platform.
Do this first
Your first priority is preventing the site from collecting more information. A convincing logo, familiar colors, or a web address containing the word “PlayStation” does not make a page official. PlayStation warned in its May 11, 2018 safety article that scam sites can be designed to resemble PlayStation.com and ask for personal information.

- Stop interacting with the page. Do not enter a sign-in ID, password, payment-card number, security code, address, phone number, date of birth, or other personal data. Do not download a file, install an extension, approve a browser notification, or scan a QR code shown by the page.
- Close the tab or app window. Do not return to the site to collect more evidence. If a pop-up prevents the tab from closing, close the browser window or force-quit the browser rather than clicking buttons in the page.
- Record the URL. Copy the complete address from the browser’s address bar before closing it. Preserve the spelling, path, and unusual subdomain exactly as shown. Do not shorten or “correct” it.
- Write a short description. Note that the page appeared to imitate PlayStation Store, what it offered, and which information or action it requested. Include the date and approximate time you saw it.
- Use the reporting route that matches where you found it. An outside website is raised with PlayStation Support. A suspicious message, profile, or other player-shared item on PSN is reported with the platform’s Report tool.
PlayStation’s security guidance recommends caution with untrusted QR codes and suspicious offers, using trusted official channels, and contacting Support when account activity looks suspicious. See How to use security best practices on PlayStation.
Choose the correct reporting channel
The key question is where the suspicious item is hosted, not whether it uses PlayStation branding. A browser page outside PlayStation Network and a scam sent through PSN require different handling.

| What you encountered | Where to report it | What the tool is designed to handle | What not to do |
|---|---|---|---|
| Independent website that imitates PlayStation Store or PlayStation.com | PlayStation Support through Sony’s official consumer-support route | Consumer issues involving PSN accounts, PlayStation hardware, Store purchases, and related assistance | Do not assume the PSN player-report tool submits an external domain report |
| Suspicious PSN message | The Report function on that message | Specific content shared through PlayStation Network | Do not report unrelated messages or the sender solely because an external site looks suspicious |
| Suspicious PSN profile | The profile’s Report function | A player profile or conduct that may breach PlayStation’s rules | Do not use a profile report as a substitute for reporting a separate website |
| Suspicious image, post, or other player-shared content on PSN | The Report option attached to that specific content | The individual item believed to breach the Code of Conduct | Do not submit a vague report when the specific content can be selected |
PlayStation’s platform guidance explains how to report messages, profiles, and other content shared by players at How to make a report on PlayStation. That mechanism addresses content on the platform; it is not described as an intake form for an independently hosted website.
Using the wrong channel can leave the important context in the wrong queue. A moderation report should identify the particular PSN item that violated the rules. A consumer-support request should identify the external domain and explain the impersonation. If both occurred—a PSN message that links to a clone—use both routes, selecting the message for in-platform reporting and describing the destination website to Support.
How to report a third-party PlayStation Store clone
1. Open Support from an official PlayStation page
Type the PlayStation website address yourself or use a bookmark you already trust. Avoid following a support link supplied by the suspicious page. Sony Interactive Entertainment’s support and compliance page directs account, hardware, Store-purchase, and other consumer matters to PlayStation Support. Select the support option for your country or region so the available contact methods match your account location.
The public pages do not identify a special Sony email address or a dedicated clone-domain form. That does not establish that Sony has no internal review process; it means the published consumer route is the safest documented starting point. Regional pages can present different chat, phone, or web options, so rely on the official page for your location rather than a contact detail copied from the imitation.
2. Explain that the issue is an external website impersonation
Make the first sentence unambiguous: “This URL appears to impersonate PlayStation Store.” State that the page is outside PSN and explain how it presented itself as an official store or sign-in page. This helps distinguish the report from a normal purchase problem or a complaint about a PSN user.
Describe the sequence plainly: where you encountered the link, what page opened, which PlayStation marks or wording it used, and what it asked you to do. If the page offered a discount, gift card, account verification, or urgent security warning, identify that offer without clicking it again. You do not need to prove the operator’s identity or determine whether the domain is technically hosted by Sony.
3. Include useful, non-sensitive details
- The complete URL, copied exactly.
- The date and approximate time you encountered it, including your time zone if known.
- What branding, store layout, offer, message, or sign-in prompt made it appear to be PlayStation.
- What the page requested, such as a PSN sign-in, payment details, a gift-card code, a phone number, or a QR-code scan.
- Whether you entered anything, downloaded anything, or only viewed the page.
- Your country or region, if the support form asks for it.
These details are practical ways to describe the problem; the official pages do not publish a mandatory evidence list for third-party clones. Never send your password, full payment-card number, security code, or another secret in a support message. If a screenshot is useful, inspect it for visible account IDs, addresses, order numbers, email addresses, or payment information before attaching it.

For example: “At about 19:30 UTC on 17 October, a link opened a page at [URL] that used PlayStation Store branding, offered a discounted game, and requested my PSN email and card number. I viewed it but entered nothing.” State uncertainty honestly; if you are unsure whether a download completed or whether a page was inside an app, say so.

4. Submit through the consumer-support route
Use the contact method presented by the official Support site for your region. The sources do not identify a dedicated Sony email address or web form specifically for PlayStation Store clone domains. Sony’s ethics and compliance route is described for unethical behavior or business misconduct involving Sony Interactive Entertainment or a business partner, not as the ordinary channel for a consumer reporting an unrelated scam website. If the regional Support page offers a more specific security or fraud category, follow that page’s instructions.
Do not create a new account, make a purchase, or sign in to the suspected clone in order to submit a stronger complaint. Support can assess the URL and description without receiving additional credentials. If the official form asks for an account identifier, provide only the minimum information requested and never include a password or one-time code.
5. Keep your own record
Save the support case number or confirmation screen if one is provided. Keep your copy of the URL, the date and time, and the text of what you submitted. Do not infer from the absence of an immediate reply that the URL was ignored, and do not promise yourself that the domain will be removed. The published guidance does not promise a takedown, an acknowledgement, or a response time.
How to report a scam encountered inside PSN
If the suspicious link arrived through a PlayStation message, a player profile, or another item shared on PSN, report the specific content where you saw it. Open the item’s available options and choose Report, then identify the message, profile, or other content that appears to breach the rules. The console and PlayStation App expose reporting controls for supported content; the exact labels can vary by device, app version, and region.
Do not report an unrelated player merely because you suspect that a linked domain is fraudulent. Select the actual message or content containing the suspicious offer or link, and describe what happened in the report field if one is provided. Reporting the item gives PlayStation’s moderation process the context it is designed to review.
“Also remember the best way that you can help keep PSN safe is by using the system level reporting function so if you ever come across anything on PSN that you suspect is a scam you can report it to our Moderation team who will be happy to investigate.”
That statement concerns scams encountered on PSN. It should not be read as confirmation of a separate reporting form for a website hosted outside the network. If the same message also led you to submit information on a browser page, complete the account and payment steps below in addition to reporting the PSN item.
If you entered a password or other account information
Change the email-account password first
If you typed your PSN credentials into the clone, change the password for the email address associated with your PlayStation account. Use the email provider’s official site or app, not a link in a suspicious message. Choose a unique password that you have not used elsewhere. If you reused that password on other services, change those accounts through their official sites as well.

Changing the email password matters because control of that inbox can enable password resets and other account changes. Do not tell anyone a replacement password while asking for help, and do not approve an unexpected reset or verification request simply because it arrives after you report the incident.
Secure the PlayStation account
Use PlayStation’s account-recovery and security instructions and contact Support if you cannot change the sign-in method or believe someone accessed the account. Check for changes to the account email, sign-in ID, security settings, purchases, or messages. Do not wait for an unauthorized purchase before asking Support for help.
When contacting Support, explain that credentials were entered on a suspected PlayStation Store clone and give the URL. If you still control the account, follow the official prompts for changing sign-in details. If you cannot change the sign-in method, say that clearly so Support can direct you to the recovery process.

Handle payment exposure separately
If you entered card, bank, wallet, or payment-account information, contact PlayStation Support promptly and contact the relevant payment provider through its official channel. Ask the payment provider what protective steps apply to the exposed instrument; do not provide the suspicious site with additional “verification” information.
For a charge you do not recognize, first check your PlayStation Store transaction history, then follow PlayStation’s guidance for unauthorized payments. The relevant instructions are Phished (compromised) accounts and unauthorized charges. A transaction that appears in your history and a card charge that does not belong to you may require different follow-up, so keep the dates and amounts available when contacting Support or your payment provider.
If you only visited the page
Closing a page without submitting information is different from handing over credentials or payment details. Do not revisit it to test the address. Review your browser’s downloads, extensions, notification permissions, and saved-password prompts if the page asked you to install or approve anything. Remove anything you did not intentionally add, and run the security checks provided by your operating system or browser. If you entered no information and see no account or payment activity, report the URL through Support and continue monitoring your accounts.
Information to avoid sending in a report
- Your current or previous PlayStation password.
- One-time verification codes, backup codes, or password-reset links.
- Complete card numbers, card security codes, bank credentials, or wallet recovery phrases.
- Unredacted screenshots showing private account or payment data.
- A downloaded executable or document from the suspicious site, unless official Support specifically provides a safe procedure for handling it.
Support needs enough context to understand the impersonation, not the secrets that would let somebody enter your account. If a support representative needs to verify ownership, use the official verification method presented in the support interaction rather than volunteering extra documents or codes.

Using a search result or the clone’s “support” link
A scam page can direct every button, including “help,” to another page controlled by the same operator. Start from a PlayStation address you entered yourself or an established bookmark, and verify the browser address before signing in.

Trying to gather proof by interacting with the site
Every additional click can expose more information or trigger a download. The URL, a written description, and a carefully redacted screenshot are usually safer than a second visit. Do not attempt to test a password, submit a false payment, or scan a code just to see what happens.
Reporting the wrong object
The PSN Report tool is for content shared on PSN. It does not turn a third-party domain into a PSN report. Conversely, sending only a website URL to a player-moderation report can omit the specific PSN message or profile that moderators need to review.
Assuming a familiar web address is proof of authenticity
Lookalike domains, misleading subdomains, misspellings, unusual top-level domains, and redirects can make a page appear legitimate. Treat the address as untrusted until you reach it through an official PlayStation channel. Do not use a promotion, QR code, or urgent warning as a reason to bypass that check.

Expecting a public takedown update
Sony’s published consumer guidance does not promise that a reporter will receive a confirmation, a timeline, or notice that a domain was removed. Keep your own records and continue protecting the account. A lack of visible action is not a reason to revisit the site or send sensitive information in a follow-up.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What Sony’s published guidance does—and does not—promise
The official material supports three actions: use PlayStation Support for consumer concerns involving an external impersonation, use the in-platform Report function for suspicious PSN content, and follow account or payment recovery guidance when information may have been exposed. It does not publish a clone-specific email address, a guaranteed domain-takedown process, a confirmation that every report will receive a reply, or a fixed response time.
That limitation does not mean Sony has no internal process. It means the publicly described route is the official regional Support site, and the available contact options can vary by country. If you need a local phone number, chat option, or fraud category, select your country on the official PlayStation Support site rather than relying on a contact detail copied from the suspicious page.
A concise decision checklist
- Outside website: close it, copy the URL, describe the impersonation, and contact official PlayStation Support.
- PSN message, profile, or shared content: report that specific item with the platform’s Report function.
- Credentials entered: change the associated email password, then use PlayStation account-recovery or Support guidance.
- Payment information or an unfamiliar charge: contact PlayStation Support promptly, involve the payment provider as appropriate, and check Store transaction history.
- No information entered: do not revisit the page; submit the URL and description without exposing additional data.
Following the matching route gives Sony the context its consumer-support or moderation teams are set up to handle while reducing the chance that the suspected clone collects anything else.

Is there a dedicated Sony form or email for a fake PlayStation Store website?
The published Sony and PlayStation pages do not identify a dedicated third-party clone form or email. Use the official PlayStation Support route for your country, describe the URL as an external PlayStation Store impersonation, and follow any regional security or fraud category that Support presents.
Best Value

Should I use PSN’s Report button for the website itself?
No. The platform Report function is intended for messages, profiles, images, posts, and other content shared on PSN. Use it on the specific PSN item that carried the scam. Raise an independently hosted website through official consumer Support instead.
What information should I include when contacting Support?
Provide the complete URL, when you saw it, how it imitated PlayStation, what it offered or requested, and whether you entered information or downloaded anything. These are practical details, not a published mandatory evidence list. Never include passwords, one-time codes, full card numbers, or other secrets.
What if I entered my PSN password on the clone?
Change the password for the email account linked to PlayStation first, using the provider’s official site. Then follow PlayStation account-recovery guidance and contact Support, especially if you cannot change the sign-in method or notice suspicious account activity. Change any other accounts where you reused that password.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
What if I entered payment details or see an unfamiliar charge?
Contact PlayStation Support promptly and contact the relevant payment provider through its official channel. Check PlayStation Store transaction history for an unrecognized purchase and keep the dates and amounts available when you request help. Do not send additional verification information to the suspicious site.
Can I revisit the page to take a better screenshot or confirm the address?
Avoid revisiting it. Copy the URL from the address bar if it is still available, write down what you remember, and use a redacted screenshot only if it can be obtained safely. Additional clicks can expose more data or trigger downloads.
Will Sony tell me when the domain is removed?
The published guidance does not promise a takedown, acknowledgement, or response time. Save any case number or confirmation, but do not interpret silence as permission to keep using the site. Continue monitoring your PlayStation, email, and payment accounts.
The Bottom Line
Close the suspected clone, preserve its exact URL, and report it through the channel that matches its location. Use official PlayStation Support for an external website; use PSN’s Report function for a suspicious message, profile, or shared item. If you submitted credentials or payment details, secure the linked email and accounts immediately, contact Support and the payment provider as appropriate, and never send secrets in a report.
