Report a Roblox scam through Report Abuse on the exact message, chat, experience, user action, or catalog item involved. A report made only on someone’s profile may not show moderators what happened. If you may have lost account access, secure your device and account immediately, then contact Roblox Support through its official recovery guidance.
Choose the reporting route that matches where the scam happened
Roblox says the Report Abuse feature is the best way to report rule-breakers and bad content. The most useful report identifies the specific content or conduct, rather than merely reporting a user profile. Use the route below that matches what you saw.

Do these things before you report
If the scam is still active, stop interacting with it. Do not test a link, send a small payment, download a file, or provide information just to make the report more convincing. Leave the experience or chat and close any off-site page. A short, factual report made from the actual message, item, or experience gives Roblox the relevant context without putting your account at further risk.

If you already entered a password, cookie, verification code, or other sensitive information, treat the incident as a possible account compromise. If you downloaded an extension, exploit, “free Robux” tool, or other file, treat the device as potentially unsafe. Follow the account-security steps later in this article rather than waiting for moderation to respond.
How to report a scam inside an experience
Report a player’s message or behavior
- Open the in-experience menu while the incident is visible or still easy to identify.
- Select the flag beside the user’s name or open the Report tab.
- Choose Person.
- Identify the user involved.
- Select the reason that best describes the scam.
- Write a concise description explaining what the user did. Include the promise or request, such as an offer of free Robux, a request for a password, or a link directing players away from Roblox.
- Submit the report.
Report the conduct or message itself whenever the interface allows it. A profile-only report can omit the context moderators need to assess the violation. If several people are involved, report each relevant person’s conduct separately when the controls allow you to identify it accurately, rather than making one vague profile report.
Report the experience instead
If the experience itself is the problem—for example, its content or instructions are designed to collect credentials—open the same reporting controls, choose Experience rather than Person, provide the reason and description, and submit. Do not use a person report when the experience is the item violating the rules. This distinction tells Roblox whether to examine an individual’s behavior or the experience’s content and instructions.

- Open the experience’s page.
- Go to the About page or section.
- Select Report Abuse.
- Complete the reason and description fields, identifying the scam behavior or content.
- Submit the report.
This route is appropriate when the experience page itself advertises a scam or when you are no longer inside the experience. Describe what the page promises or requests, such as a supposed generator, an off-site sign-in, or a demand for account information. Reporting the experience page gives Roblox the listing to review instead of only naming its creator.
Report a scam catalog or library item
- Open the catalog or library item.
- Open its three-dot menu.
- Choose Report item.
- Fill out the form with the reason and a short, factual description.
- Submit it.
Report the individual item rather than only the creator’s profile. The item gives Roblox the object and context to review. Do not purchase an item to prove that its description is deceptive, and do not follow instructions in an item description that direct you to an external login or download.
Report scam messages in chat
Browser chat
- Open Chat Details.
- Use the menu beside the relevant user.
- Select Report.
- Complete the Report Abuse form and submit it.
Mobile chat
- Open the chat’s participant list.
- Use the menu beside the person who sent or promoted the scam.
- Select Report Abuse.
- Describe the message or behavior and submit.
Report the actual message or chat behavior when possible. Roblox specifically advises reporting scam messages, links, and experiences promptly. If the wording is no longer visible, report the identifiable user or the relevant experience through the closest available route, but do not replace a specific report with an accusation that gives no context.
Recognize the scams Roblox tells players to report
Promises of free Robux, free subscriptions, or valuable items are scam indicators. Roblox Support states, “There is no such thing as free Robux or subscription offers, tricks, or codes.” Treat a message, video, experience, or item making that promise as suspicious, especially when it asks you to sign in elsewhere or download software. - Credential requests: never provide a password, browser cookie, 2-Step Verification code, backup code, or sensitive personal or computer information to another player.
- Off-site login links: Roblox advises entering a password only on the Roblox login page. A page that imitates Roblox or asks you to “verify” an account elsewhere can capture your credentials.
- Exploit offers: alleged cheats or exploits may install keyloggers or phishing programs instead of providing a working tool. Report users who share exploit links or direct players offsite.
- Unofficial trades and deals: a promise to exchange items, currency, or services outside Roblox’s official systems is not protected by Roblox.
Scammers may combine several warning signs: an urgent promise, a request to move to another website, a demand for a cookie or code, and a download that supposedly unlocks Robux or an exploit. You do not need to determine which technique was used before reporting it. Identify the concrete message, account, experience, or item and explain the request in the description.
Do not click a suspicious link or continue a conversation merely to gather evidence. Close the page, use the relevant Report Abuse route, and secure your account if you entered information or downloaded anything.
If you think your Roblox account was hacked
Reporting the scam and recovering an account are separate actions. Use Report Abuse for the offending content or user, then follow the account-security sequence below. Roblox’s My account was hacked guidance says recovery help is limited and not guaranteed.
- Remove suspicious software. Delete off-site downloads and browser extensions that may be malicious. Run a full virus scan, restart the device, and run another scan after restarting.
- Reset your Roblox password. Use the normal Roblox password-reset process from a trusted device. Choose a new password that you have not used elsewhere.
- Turn on 2-Step Verification. Open your account security settings and enable 2-Step Verification after regaining access. Keep backup codes private.
- Contact Roblox Support if reset fails. If you cannot reset the password or still cannot sign in, use Roblox’s official Support and recovery guidance rather than an account-recovery service or social-media account claiming to be support.
- Provide ownership details carefully. Roblox says the first email address added to the account or the billing email used for the first payment can help verify ownership. Supplying one of these does not guarantee recovery.
- Act within the support window if inventory is missing. Roblox says to contact it within 30 days of the compromise if you want to seek its limited assistance for lost inventory or approximate value. This is a policy window, not a promise that items or value will be restored.
If password reset works, still complete the device scan and enable 2-Step Verification. Changing a password while a malicious extension or keylogger remains installed can expose the new password. If you cannot sign in, do not keep trying links supplied by the person who contacted you; use only Roblox’s own Help Center and recovery path.
Recovery and inventory assistance are not automatic. Roblox describes help with lost inventory as available only in very limited circumstances, so a report should never promise that an account, item, or approximate value will be returned.
How to contact Roblox Support safely
Use Roblox’s official Help Center and the Support or account-recovery path linked from its account-security guidance. Do not use “recovery agents,” off-platform support accounts, free-Robux pages, or forms that ask for your Roblox password or browser cookie. A genuine support request should explain the access problem and provide the ownership information Roblox requests through its own form.
Support is the right route for an access problem, a failed password reset, or a suspected compromise. It is not a substitute for Report Abuse: when a scammer’s message, account, experience, or item is still identifiable, report that specific content in Roblox as well.

What to include in a support request
- Your Roblox username and the email address associated with the account, if you still know them.
- When you first noticed the compromise and what changed: password, email, inventory, trades, or login access.
- Whether you clicked an off-site link, installed an extension, or downloaded a file.
- The first email added to the account or the billing email used for the first payment, if applicable.
- A clear explanation of the recovery steps you already tried and the exact error you see.
Describe the facts in order and answer the form’s questions directly. Do not send passwords, cookies, 2-Step Verification codes, backup codes, or other secrets in a support form, chat, or reply. Roblox employees will not ask for those credentials.

Roblox’s Keep Your Account Safe guidance says to keep passwords, browser cookies, 2-Step Verification codes, backup codes, personal details, and sensitive computer information private. It also says Roblox does not create browser extensions. Avoid extensions claiming to provide Robux, trading advantages, or special account access.
- Sign in only through the genuine Roblox login page.
- Use a unique password and do not reuse it on websites promoted by other players.
- Never copy a browser cookie into a chat, form, or “verification” tool.
- Keep 2-Step Verification and backup codes inaccessible to other people.
- Remove suspicious extensions and downloads before changing credentials.
- Report anyone who asks for credentials, personal information, exploit downloads, or off-site logins.
These precautions apply even when the person claims to be a moderator, developer, employee, trader, or friend. Roblox says its employees will never ask for the credentials listed above. A request can be fraudulent even if the sender knows your username, displays Roblox branding, or says the information is needed to verify a trade.
Trading scams and deals made outside Roblox
For trades or deals arranged outside Roblox’s official systems, Roblox says it cannot enforce the agreement or recover inventory. A screenshot, promise, or private message does not turn an unofficial deal into a protected transaction. Report the user who attempts to arrange the deal through Report Abuse, and do not provide credentials to “verify” a trade.
If an unofficial deal has already taken place, include the relevant user and conduct in your report, then treat any account-access problem as a separate security incident. Do not pay someone who promises to reverse the trade or recover items. A second person offering paid recovery may be another scammer seeking the same credentials or codes.

What to expect after submitting a report
Report Abuse gives Roblox the information needed to review a specific rule violation; it does not guarantee a particular punishment, account restoration, or item return. Avoid filing a series of profile-only reports for the same incident. If the first report omitted the message, item, experience, or behavior, submit the correct specific content through the appropriate route when it is available.
Interface labels can differ between a browser, mobile app, and current Roblox release. If a control has moved, look for the flag, Report, Report Abuse, or three-dot menu associated with the content itself. Do not follow a search result or social-media message that claims to be a replacement support channel and asks for credentials.

Keep your account secure while Roblox reviews the report. If you still have access, monitor account security settings and inventory for changes. If you cannot sign in, prioritize the hacked-account recovery process rather than waiting for a moderation report to restore access.

Are free Robux and subscription offers real?
