Don’t open the link or run its download. Report the post or message on the service where you found it, submit the URL to a site-safety service if it appears malicious, and contact Rockstar if your account may be involved. If you clicked, downloaded a file, ran it, or entered details, the right next step depends on what happened.
First, avoid interacting with the link
- Do not revisit the page to collect evidence, click its download button, or run an offered installer. Rockstar advises users not to download software from third-party sources, including cracked games, in its account-security guidance, updated February 17, 2026.
- If you already have the URL, copy it as plain text into a reporting form. Avoid reposting it as a clickable link, which could expose other people to the page.
- A Rockstar-looking design, “demo” button, beta invitation, or “leak” label does not prove a download is genuine. Malwarebytes reported on August 24, 2026, that fake GTA 6 demo and “Extended Look” sites impersonating Rockstar delivered an information stealer. Its analysis found the executable targeted browser passwords, cookies, authenticated sessions, autofill data, browsing and download history, and some other stored credentials: Malwarebytes’ report.
Availability claims can go stale. In that August 2026 report, Malwarebytes said Rockstar had not announced or released a GTA 6 demo or announced a PC version, and reported a November 19, 2026 release date for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Check Rockstar’s official channels and the relevant official store for current availability rather than trusting a third-party download page.
Choose the right place to report it
There is no single reporting form established for every fake GTA 6 link. Send each report to the service responsible for the content or problem.

How to submit a useful report safely
- Report the content where you found it. Open the platform’s reporting controls for the specific post, ad, DM, video, listing, or search result. Choose the closest available category, such as phishing, impersonation, scam, or malware.
- Submit the URL to a site-safety service if appropriate. Use Google’s Site Status diagnostic to check a site, and use Microsoft’s unsafe-site form or browser reporting feature for a suspected phishing or malicious page. These routes address site safety, not account recovery.
- Contact Rockstar about account concerns. Use Rockstar Support if the page impersonates Rockstar, asked for your Rockstar login, or you notice an unfamiliar login, changed account email, or unauthorized connection. Follow the account-security support route rather than assuming it can directly remove a third-party website.
- Make a fraud complaint if you lost money or suspect a crime. In the United States, the FBI says to report spoofing and phishing to IC3. Elsewhere, contact the relevant national or local reporting service.
Google’s Safe Browsing page says its service helps protect “over five billion devices every day”; the page does not state a publication year for that figure. It describes the service’s reach, not a guarantee that every malicious link will be blocked.

What to do based on what you did
If you only clicked
Close the page. Do not accept prompts, install anything, or enter information. A click alone does not establish that your device is infected. If a file downloaded automatically, do not open it; use your device’s trusted security software and follow its vendor’s guidance.
If you ran a downloaded file
Stop using the file and follow malware-response guidance from your operating-system or security-software vendor. Microsoft’s guidance for tech-support-scam victims recommends running a full Microsoft Defender scan, applying security updates, changing passwords, monitoring sign-in activity, and contacting a financial institution if payment was made. Those are Microsoft’s recommendations for that specific scam context, not a guarantee that the same steps resolve every malware incident: Microsoft’s guidance.

If you entered a password or payment details
Go directly to the legitimate service’s own site or app—not through the suspicious link—and change the exposed password. Change it anywhere else you reused it, and secure the affected accounts. For a Rockstar account, enable 2-Step Verification and watch for unfamiliar logins, email changes, or unauthorized third-party connections, as Rockstar advises in its account-security guidance. Contact your bank or payment provider if you supplied payment information or sent money.

Some stolen session tokens may be reusable without a fresh password or 2FA prompt, according to Malwarebytes’ analysis of the reported campaign. After a suspected infostealer, change affected passwords and use account settings to sign out everywhere, revoke sessions, or remove unfamiliar devices wherever those controls are available. A password change alone may not end every active session.

How to recognize the risk without opening the page
Do not use a suspicious page as your source of truth for game availability. Rockstar warns users to check email domains and links before opening messages, downloading attachments, or providing information, and cautions against third-party services that request account details. The FBI notes that spoofing can disguise an email address, sender name, phone number, or URL to make it appear trustworthy; it advises avoiding unsolicited links, checking URLs carefully, and using multifactor authentication: FBI guidance on spoofing and phishing.
