To permanently remove one Rocket plugin from an Unturned server, stop the server, delete that plugin’s .dll from the server’s Rocket/Plugins directory (or run rocket remove <plugin-name> when the plugin was installed through Rocket’s management tooling), then start the server and check the startup output. Do not delete the Rocket module unless you intend to remove the framework and disable every Rocket plugin.
A running server can keep a plugin loaded even after its file is changed. A runtime unload is also not the same as an uninstall. The procedure below separates a single-plugin removal from removal of Rocket/LDM itself, explains hosted-server paths, and shows how to preserve configuration data so you can recover if necessary.
Decide what you are removing
Rocket has two different kinds of files in a typical Unturned installation:
- A plugin assembly: an individual
.dllinRocket/Plugins. Removing it disables that one plugin. - The Rocket/LDM module: the framework under
Unturned/Modules, commonly in a folder namedModules/Rocket.Unturned. Removing it disables Rocket itself and therefore affects every Rocket plugin.
Use the first procedure when one feature is broken, unwanted, or being replaced. Use the module procedure only when you are deliberately retiring Rocket or replacing an old Rocket installation. Deleting the module is not a broader version of deleting a plugin; it is a different operation with a much larger effect.

Choose the least destructive method

If you are uncertain, start with an unload for a temporary test or archive the files before deleting them. A backup gives you a way to reverse a mistake; an unload does not remove configuration or plugin files.
Prepare the server safely
Stop the server process first
Use the host panel’s Stop control, the service manager, or the normal server-console shutdown command. Wait until the panel reports that the process has exited and the console is no longer producing output. Do not replace or delete a plugin while Unturned is still running. Rocket’s installation-removal instructions also begin by stopping the server before Rocket files are changed.

If a host shows separate controls for a game server and a proxy or query service, stop the Unturned instance that owns the files you are about to change.
Back up the relevant files
Create a dated copy of the server configuration and data before removing anything. At minimum, preserve the target plugin’s DLL and any same-named configuration directory or files. If you may remove Rocket itself, preserve the complete Modules/Rocket.Unturned folder as well as the server’s configuration and data.
An archive is preferable to a screenshot of settings: it retains the exact files and directory structure needed for restoration. Store the archive outside the live server directory so an update or cleanup operation cannot remove both copies.

Remove one plugin
Method 1: use Rocket’s management command
When the plugin was installed through Rocket’s management tooling, open the server console that accepts Rocket administration commands and run:

Replace <plugin-name> with the name recognized by Rocket, not an invented display label. This command is appropriate only when Rocket manages that installation. A manually uploaded DLL may not be registered with the management system, in which case use the file method below.
After the command completes, keep the server stopped while you inspect the files. The command’s success message is not a substitute for checking the selected server directory, particularly on a host account that contains multiple Unturned instances.
Method 2: delete a manually installed DLL
- With the server stopped, open the server’s root directory.
- Open
Rocket, thenPlugins. The resulting path is normallyRocket/Plugins. - Identify the target plugin’s
.dll. Use the plugin’s documented file name or the name you uploaded; do not remove unrelated DLLs. - Download or copy the DLL to your backup location, then delete it from the live
Rocket/Pluginsdirectory. - Leave other plugin DLLs in place unless they are part of the same removal.
Hosted-server documentation commonly identifies this directory as the upload and removal location. One example path exposed by a host is ServersUnturnedServerByHHRocketPlugins; your provider may prepend a different server-root name. The important part is the Rocket/Plugins folder belonging to the selected Unturned instance, not a similarly named folder elsewhere in the account.
Decide what to do with plugin data
Many plugins create a configuration directory or files whose name resembles the plugin name. Removing the DLL does not necessarily remove those files. Treat them separately:

- Keep the data if you may reinstall the plugin, want to retain settings, or need to investigate a failure.
- Archive the data if you are unsure. This is the safest choice because it preserves settings without leaving them active.
- Delete the data only when you intend to reset the plugin completely or are certain it is no longer needed.
The documented plugin and configuration locations identify where these files live, but deletion is not guaranteed to be recoverable. Never assume that reinstalling the DLL will recreate custom settings or restore deleted data.
Start the server and verify the removal
- Start the same Unturned server instance you stopped.
- Watch the startup console or log as Rocket discovers plugins.
- Confirm that the removed plugin is no longer listed as loaded and is not producing its previous load error.
- If the server reaches its normal ready state, connect and check only the feature that the plugin supplied; do not use a runtime unload as proof of permanent removal.
Rocket discovers plugins during startup, so a restart is the point at which deleting the DLL takes effect. If the plugin is absent from the directory and still appears in startup output, stop again and investigate the path or server instance rather than deleting more files.
Runtime unload is not an uninstall
/rocket unload <plugin> unloads a running plugin and removes that plugin’s command registrations from the current runtime. It is useful for testing whether a plugin is causing a problem without changing files. /rocket reload <plugin> performs an unload followed by a load of the same plugin.
Neither command permanently removes the DLL or its configuration. The plugin can load again after a restart because Rocket scans the files at startup. For permanent removal, stop the server and use the management command when applicable or delete the plugin DLL from Rocket/Plugins.

- Stop the Unturned server and wait for the process to exit.
- Back up the server configuration and data, including any plugin settings you may later need.
- Open the Unturned installation’s
Modulesdirectory. - Locate the complete
Rocket.Unturnedfolder, commonly represented asModules/Rocket.Unturned. - Archive the folder first if you may need to roll back, then delete the complete folder from the live server.
- Start the server and read the startup output. Rocket should no longer initialize, and Rocket plugins should no longer load.
Unturned’s module layout places server modules in Unturned/Modules. RocketModFix’s removal instructions specifically call for deleting the complete Modules/Rocket.Unturned folder when removing an old Rocket installation. Removing only a child file can leave a partial installation and make diagnosis harder.
Because the module supplies Rocket’s runtime, every Rocket plugin is affected. Preserve the backup if you might return to Rocket; restoring the module alone may not restore plugin DLLs or configuration that you separately deleted.

Finding the right files on a hosted server
FTP access
Connect to the FTP account assigned to the exact Unturned instance. Start at that instance’s server root, then open Rocket/Plugins for an individual plugin or Modules/Rocket.Unturned for the framework. Download the target file before deleting it, and verify the remote path in the FTP client’s location bar.
Control-panel file manager
Open the file manager for the selected game server, not a general account directory. Providers often add a server-specific prefix before Rocket/Plugins. For example, a panel may display a path similar to ServersUnturnedServerByHHRocketPlugins, while another provider presents the same directory with a different root name. Do not copy a path prefix from one server to another without confirming the instance.
No file access
If the panel provides only start, stop, and console controls, ask the host to enable FTP or file-manager access, or request removal of the specific DLL. A console unload can stop the plugin for the current session, but it cannot replace the file-level removal required for an uninstall.

Why a deleted plugin can still appear to load
The wrong server directory was edited
Multiple servers, staging copies, and backup directories can contain an identically named Rocket/Plugins folder. Compare the path with the instance selected in the host panel and confirm that the target DLL is absent from that exact live directory.
The server was never fully stopped
If the process remained active, the running process may still have the plugin loaded. Stop it again, wait for a confirmed shutdown, make the file change, and perform a clean start.
Only a runtime unload was performed
An unload changes the current runtime but leaves the DLL available for the next startup. Use the permanent file procedure when you want the plugin gone after every restart.
Plugin data or a dependent component remains
Configuration files do not normally substitute for a missing plugin DLL, but they can confuse a later reinstall or make it appear that old settings survived. Keep the archived data clearly labeled, and inspect startup output for the exact component that reports an error rather than deleting unrelated files.
The startup output was not checked
Restarting without reading the console leaves you guessing. Look for the plugin’s load line, error line, or absence from Rocket’s discovery output. If the server fails during startup after a change, stop it, restore the archived file, and test one change at a time.
Recovery and rollback
Restoring one plugin
- Stop the server.
- Copy the backed-up DLL into the same instance’s
Rocket/Pluginsdirectory. - Restore its archived configuration data only if you want the previous settings.
- Start the server and inspect startup output for a successful load or a specific error.
Do not restore a plugin DLL into a different server instance by mistake. Keep the backup’s original file name and directory structure so Rocket can discover it in the same way as before.
Restoring Rocket/LDM
- Stop the server.
- Restore the archived
Rocket.Unturnedfolder underUnturned/Modules. - Restore any plugin DLLs and configuration data that you intentionally removed.
- Start the server and confirm that Rocket initializes before diagnosing individual plugin errors.
Restoring the module without restoring the plugins only brings back the framework. Conversely, restoring plugin DLLs without the module will not provide the Rocket runtime they require.
