To close the public police slots in an Altis Life mission, edit the mission’s core/fn_initCop.sqf file. Find the whitelist exception containing cop_1 through cop_4, replace that list with an identifier no player can use (for example, cop_9999), save the mission, and restart the server. Do not remove the surrounding life_coplevel/life_adminlevel check.
This change applies to the procedure documented by Pingperfect. Altis Life forks can place or implement the check differently, so confirm that you are editing the mission currently loaded by your server before changing anything.

In the configuration covered by the Pingperfect Altis Life procedure, the first four police player variables are treated as public exceptions. Their names are cop_1, cop_2, cop_3, and cop_4. A player using one of those variables reaches the cop role without being stopped by the whitelist block.
The relevant code is in the deployed mission, not necessarily in the server’s general configuration directory. The expected path is:

core/fn_initCop.sqfDepending on your control panel, you may edit that file in a built-in file manager or through FTP. The important point is that the file must belong to the mission PBO or mission folder the server actually loads.
The whitelist condition
The outer if statement checks whether the current player variable is absent from an exception list:

sleep 35;That is why ordinary players can enter the first four slots in the unmodified setup: their variable names are explicitly excluded from the whitelist test.
What to check before editing
Back up the mission file
Download or copy the current fn_initCop.sqf before changing it. Keep the original under a distinct name outside the live mission, such as fn_initCop.sqf.original. A backup gives you a direct rollback if the server reports a script error or if your fork uses a different syntax.
Identify the active mission
Many Arma 3 servers contain several mission folders, templates, or uploaded builds. Confirm the mission selected in the server control panel and inspect that mission’s core/fn_initCop.sqf. Editing an unused copy produces no change in game and can make troubleshooting misleading.
Use a controlled maintenance window
Stop the server, or use the host’s documented safe-edit workflow, before saving a live mission file. A running instance may continue using the old file until its next mission load, and a restart is required after the edit. If the panel has no editor, the documented procedure allows the change through FTP.

Check your fork
The AsYetUntitled framework’s v5.X.X Config_Master.hpp documentation identifies framework_version = "5.0.0" and shows that many framework settings are centralized there. That establishes the framework context, not a guarantee that every fork keeps the cop initialization script at the same path or uses the same condition. Search your own mission for NotWhitelisted, life_coplevel, or fn_initCop.sqf if the expected file is absent.
Step-by-step: close cop_1 through cop_4
- Stop the server or enter its safe maintenance mode. Use the control panel’s stop function when available. If the host requires FTP, connect to the server files with the account that has access to the active mission.
- Open the active mission’s
core/fn_initCop.sqf. Do not edit a similarly named file in an archive, backup, or different mission version. - Locate the exception list. Search for
cop_1or the full line beginning withif (!(str(player) in. In the documented setup, the original block is:

};- Replace only the exception list. Use an identifier that cannot be selected by a real player in your mission. The source procedure uses
cop_9999as a sentinel:

};- Preserve the rest of the block. Keep the nested level comparison, the
NotWhitelistedcall, the 35-second sleep, and the closing braces. The purpose of the edit is to remove the four public exceptions, not to disable the whitelist logic. - Save the file without changing its path or name. If your editor warns about encoding or line endings, retain the file’s existing format where possible. Check that the saved content still contains balanced braces and the exact
FETCH_CONSTexpressions. - Start or restart the server. A mission restart reloads the edited script. Simply saving an FTP copy while the old mission is running does not demonstrate that the new code has loaded.
How the replacement works
The outer test now has no practical public exception
The expression str(player) returns the current player variable name as a string. With the original list, a player named cop_1, cop_2, cop_3, or cop_4 makes the outer condition false, so the nested whitelist test is skipped.

After the edit, the only listed exception is cop_9999. If that name is not assigned to any selectable slot in your mission, normal players do not match the list. The outer condition therefore evaluates true for them, and they proceed into the level check.
The level check remains the authority
A player is rejected only when both life_coplevel and life_adminlevel equal zero. An approved cop with a nonzero cop level, or an administrator with a nonzero administrator level, continues past this particular check. Removing the inner test would change that behavior and could reject authorized staff, so it should remain intact.

Why use a sentinel rather than an empty list
The documented edit keeps valid SQF list syntax and changes the contents to a deliberately unused name. cop_9999 is an example, not a reserved Arma 3 value. Choose a different impossible identifier if your mission could assign that name. The requirement is that no real player variable can match it.
Verification after the restart
These checks follow directly from the conditional logic. They are expected outcomes, not a claim of an independently executed server test.

Test with the same mission and slot-selection flow that players use. If an unapproved account is still admitted, first confirm that the server restarted the mission you edited. If an approved account is rejected, verify the account’s levels in your framework and confirm that you did not alter the nested expression while replacing the list.

The slots are still open
- Wrong mission edited: Compare the mission selected in the control panel with the folder or PBO containing your changed file.
- No mission restart: Stop and start the server, or perform the host’s documented mission restart, so the script is reloaded.
- Another copy overrides the file: Search the active mission for additional
fn_initCop.sqffiles or a secondNotWhitelistedcondition. A fork may call a different initialization script. - Deployment restored the original: Some server workflows redeploy a packaged mission on restart. Compare the file after restarting and reapply the change to the package that is actually deployed.
Everyone, including cops, is rejected
- Confirm that the inner comparison still reads
FETCH_CONST(life_coplevel)andFETCH_CONST(life_adminlevel), with the&&operator between them. - Check that the braces around the outer and inner
ifstatements are balanced. - Verify that approved accounts really receive a nonzero level in this mission build. The edit cannot grant a level that the framework has not assigned.
- Restore the backup if the file contains a syntax change beyond the exception-list replacement, then repeat the minimal edit.
The expected file does not exist
Do not create a new script solely because the path is missing. Search the mission for the rejection string or the level variable names and identify the function that performs the equivalent check. Forks can rename functions, reorganize the core directory, or move settings into another file. Apply the same principle—remove only the public slot exception while retaining the level test—after confirming the fork’s implementation.

FTP upload or save fails
Check that the FTP account has write permission for the mission, that the server is not actively replacing files during deployment, and that the uploaded filename remains exactly fn_initCop.sqf. Download the saved copy again and inspect it before restarting; this catches an upload to the wrong directory.

The four-name exception and the core/fn_initCop.sqf location describe the configuration documented by Pingperfect. They are not universal Altis Life standards. Framework revisions and private forks may use different player variable names, whitelist functions, or mission layouts.
The AsYetUntitled v5.X.X documentation’s framework_version = "5.0.0" example is useful for identifying a framework generation, but it does not prove that a server running another fork shares the same file or code. Before editing, compare the deployed mission’s code with the block shown above. If the names differ, do not mechanically paste the replacement; locate the equivalent exception list in your own implementation.
Rollback procedure
- Stop the server or use its safe maintenance workflow.
- Replace the edited
core/fn_initCop.sqfwith the backup made before the change. - Confirm the restored file is in the active mission directory.
- Restart the server and verify that the previous slot behavior has returned.
Keeping the rollback copy separate from the live mission prevents an accidental restart from loading it as an additional script.
