To stop an unwanted AI-generated track or artist influencing Deezer recommendations, play it, tap the dislike or ban control, and choose Don’t recommend this track or Don’t recommend this artist. Deezer says detected fully AI-generated tracks are already excluded from algorithmic recommendations and editorial playlists. A broader AI-music filter for search results was announced on October 13, 2026, with global availability planned before the end of 2026, but it may not be enabled on your account yet.
For personal playlists, Deezer’s free AI Music Detector can scan your playlists and identify suspected fully AI-generated tracks. It does not automatically rewrite your playlists, so use its results to decide which songs to remove from each playlist yourself.
The quickest way to stop an AI track appearing in recommendations
- Start playback of the unwanted song.
- Tap Deezer’s dislike or ban control.
- Select Don’t recommend this track to exclude that one song, or Don’t recommend this artist to exclude the artist’s songs from recommendations.
- Open Settings and choose Manage my dislikes to review or undo exclusions. The exact menu wording can vary by app version.
Deezer’s recommendation update says disliked content is removed from Flow, mixes and recommendations. These controls are the practical option available now when an unwanted track or artist is affecting your personalized listening.
What Deezer already removes automatically
Deezer says it detects fully AI-generated music and excludes detected tracks from algorithmic recommendations and editorial playlists. That means a track can be absent from Flow or a Deezer-curated playlist without you having to block it individually.

The automatic system is not a promise that every AI-related item will disappear from every part of the service. It applies to content Deezer has detected and to recommendation and editorial surfaces. Search results and your own saved playlists are separate cases, which is why a song can still be findable or remain in a playlist you created.
Deezer reported that more than 42 million AI-generated tracks detected between January 2025 and August 2026 had been excluded from algorithmic and editorial recommendations. By October 2026, more than 14 million albums had been tagged with AI-generated content. Those are Deezer-reported totals and will change as its catalog and detection process develop.
How to block one track or an entire artist
Block a single track
Use Don’t recommend this track when the problem is one song but you still want to hear other releases by the artist. Deezer treats this as a track-level exclusion. The song should stop being selected for Flow, mixes and other recommendation feeds governed by your dislike settings.
Block an artist
Choose Don’t recommend this artist when you do not want that artist’s catalog influencing recommendations. This is broader than blocking one song: the artist-level choice is intended to keep the artist’s songs out of recommendation selections.

Undo a decision
Go to Settings → Manage my dislikes. Find the track or artist and remove it from the list if you change your mind. Because the exclusion list is reversible, you can use the artist-level option without permanently losing access to the music.

The dislike controls are recommendation controls, not a universal catalog deletion command. Deezer’s announced filter is specifically for search results. Neither option is documented as automatically deleting a song from a personal playlist.
How the announced AI-music search filter will work
On October 13, 2026, Deezer announced a separate toggle that will hide fully AI-generated tracks, albums and related artists from search results. The company said it plans global availability before the end of 2026. Until the toggle reaches your account, you may not see it even if the announcement has been published; rollout timing and app version can affect availability.

- Open Deezer’s settings or search preferences and look for the AI-music filtering control. Deezer has not published one universal menu path for every app version.
- Turn the filter on to exclude fully AI-generated tracks, albums and related artists from search results.
- Turn it off whenever you want search to include those results again.
This filter changes search visibility only. It should not be described as a filter for every recommendation surface, editorial playlist or personal playlist. Continue using dislikes for recommendations and the detector for playlist auditing.

How to check existing playlists for AI-generated tracks
Use Deezer’s free AI Music Detector when you want to inspect playlists you have already saved or created. Deezer says a Deezer subscription is not required.
- Open the Deezer AI Music Detector.
- Choose Deezer as the streaming service.
- Connect the account when prompted.
- Select the playlists you want checked and let the detector scan them.
- Review the tracks it identifies as fully AI-generated, then open the relevant playlist in Deezer and remove any songs you no longer want there using the playlist’s normal editing controls.
The detector is an audit tool. Deezer’s published description does not say that it automatically removes songs from playlists, so treat its output as a list for your review rather than an automatic cleanup action. If a playlist is collaborative or shared, removing a song may affect other listeners, so check the playlist’s ownership and editing permissions first.
What Deezer means by “AI-generated”
The announced search filter targets music created entirely through generative AI platforms. Deezer distinguishes that from a human-made recording in which an artist used limited AI assistance during a broader creative process. A song that used an AI mixing, mastering, editing or ideation tool is therefore not automatically equivalent to a fully AI-generated track for this feature.

This distinction matters when you interpret both the filter and detector results. They are not described as universal detectors of every song that used any AI tool. If you want to avoid only fully generated releases, use Deezer’s AI classification and the announced filter. If your personal standard also excludes recordings with limited AI assistance, you will need to make that judgment yourself after reviewing credits or artist information; Deezer’s announced controls do not promise to classify every degree of assistance.

How accurate is Deezer’s detection?
Deezer reports 99.8% detection accuracy for its AI Music Detector. That is a Deezer-reported performance figure, not a guarantee that every individual result will be correct or that the classification will never change as models and catalog data are updated.
In a Deezer/Ipsos study conducted in 2025, 97% of listeners could not distinguish fully AI-generated music from human-created music in a blind test. The same study found that 80% agreed fully AI-generated music should be clearly labeled. These findings explain why a listener may need a service-level label or detector rather than relying on an unaided listening impression.

It is in search, not a recommendation
Automatic recommendation exclusions and dislikes concern recommendation surfaces. The separate search filter was only announced on October 13, 2026 and may not have reached your account. Until it is available, a fully AI-generated release can remain discoverable through ordinary search even if it is not selected for Flow.
It is in a personal playlist
Your own playlist is a saved collection, not the same thing as Deezer’s algorithmic recommendation feed. Use the AI Music Detector to identify tracks, then edit the playlist yourself. Do not expect a dislike to erase a song that you deliberately added to a playlist.

The content was not classified as fully AI-generated
Deezer’s announced definition focuses on music created entirely through generative AI. Limited AI assistance in a human-led production may fall outside that classification, so the filter may not hide it.
The search filter has not rolled out yet
Deezer said global availability is planned before the end of 2026, not that every account would receive it immediately. Account, app-version and rollout timing differences can explain why another listener sees the control before you do.
The wrong exclusion level was selected
If you blocked a track but other songs by the same artist continue to appear, edit the exclusion and choose Don’t recommend this artist instead. If you blocked an artist unnecessarily, remove that entry under Manage my dislikes.

What Deezer’s policy means for your listening setup
There are four separate layers to manage: recommendation feeds, editorial playlists, search and your own playlists. Deezer’s automatic exclusions address detected fully AI-generated tracks in the first two layers. Dislikes give you immediate personal control over recommendation feeds. The announced toggle is designed for search. The detector helps you inspect saved playlists.
Using the right control prevents a common mismatch: disliking a song when your actual problem is that it remains searchable, or expecting a search toggle to clean an existing playlist. Apply the narrowest control that matches the place where you are seeing the content, then use Manage my dislikes or playlist editing when you need to reverse or refine the decision.
Deezer’s stated position on user choice
Deezer CEO Alexis Lanternier said the company had seen clear user demand for the ability to filter out AI-generated music and wanted to let listeners remove that content from their streaming experience if they wished. The announced controls reflect that optional approach: listeners can continue accessing the catalog, while those who prefer human-created music can use exclusions, dislikes and the forthcoming search filter.
