If you posted the TikTok video, open it, choose More options (…) → Delete, and understand that TikTok keeps the deleted post for up to 30 days before permanent deletion. If another person posted it, choose the remedy that matches the problem: report a genuine Community Guidelines issue, file a copyright complaint only as the rights owner or an authorized representative, or ask Google or Bing to update an index after the source page is gone. Search engines can change their results, but they cannot erase the TikTok page or copies hosted elsewhere.
Choose the route that matches your situation
The fastest way to avoid a rejected request is to identify who controls the post and what you want changed. Deleting your own post, reporting a policy violation, submitting a copyright complaint, and removing a stale search listing are separate processes.

Prepare before you submit anything
- Copy the exact TikTok URL. Open the share menu on the video and copy its link. Keep the URL as it appears in the address bar or share sheet; a profile URL is not a substitute for the individual post URL.
- Record who posted it. Note the account name and whether you can sign in to that account. Account control determines whether you can delete the post directly.
- Classify the reason. Use a Community Guidelines report for a possible TikTok rules violation, the intellectual-property process for your copyrighted work, and a search-engine request only when the issue is with a result shown by that search engine.
- Save evidence you are entitled to keep. Screenshots of the result, the post, the account name, and any ownership documents can help you complete a report. Do not submit another person’s private information unless the form requires it and you have a lawful basis to provide it.
- Check each search engine separately. Removing a result from Google does not change Bing or another index. Likewise, an update in Bing does not alter Google’s results.
Delete a video from your own TikTok account
Delete the post in the TikTok app
- Open TikTok and go to your profile.
- Open the video you want to remove.
- Tap More options (…).
- Tap Delete and confirm when TikTok asks.
These steps apply when you control the account that published the post. Deleting the post is the direct way to remove it from TikTok; a search-engine request cannot substitute for source removal.
Understand TikTok’s 30-day deletion period
TikTok Support states: “When you delete a post, it remains in our system for up to 30 days before being permanently deleted.” During that period, the post is not necessarily irrecoverable. TikTok documents a recovery path in the app: Profile → Menu → Settings and privacy → Activity center → Recently deleted.

If you restore the item during the available period, TikTok says its associated likes and comments are restored as well. The documented period is a maximum of 30 days, so check Recently deleted promptly if you may need the post again. Once the retention period has passed, the documented in-app restoration option is no longer available.
Keep a copy before deleting if you may need it
If the video is evidence for a complaint, a personal record, or a future re-edit, retain your own lawful copy before deleting. The 30-day recovery feature is a platform grace period, not a promise that every account will have an independent backup or that a deleted file can be downloaded later. Do not assume a search result, a viewer’s screen recording, or a repost is a reliable substitute for your original.
Report someone else’s TikTok video for a Community Guidelines concern
You cannot directly delete a video from another person’s account. TikTok’s reporting flow asks the platform to review a possible violation; it is not a general removal button for content you simply dislike, disagree with, or would prefer not to see.

- Open the video.
- Tap Share, or press and hold the post.
- Choose Report.
- Select the reason that best describes the suspected violation.
- Choose any prompted subtopic.
- Submit the report.
Choose the most specific reason available and describe the conduct accurately. A report should identify an actual Community Guidelines concern rather than rely on a request such as “remove this because I do not like it.” TikTok reviews the submission under its policies and decides what action, if any, is appropriate.
Report from the web
On TikTok’s website, open the post, choose More options, and select Report. Complete the reason and any subtopic requested by the form, then submit it.

What a report can and cannot promise
- Submitting a report starts a review; it does not guarantee that TikTok will delete the video.
- A report can be declined when the content does not violate the selected policy or when the explanation does not support the allegation.
- Do not use the Community Guidelines form as a substitute for a copyright complaint. Copyright claims have a separate eligibility requirement and evidence standard.
File a copyright complaint for a reposted video
Use TikTok’s intellectual-property process when your copyrighted work has been used without permission. The filer must be the copyright owner or an authorized representative. This route is specific to intellectual-property claims; it is not a general method for removing any video that features you or that you find objectionable.
Submit the infringement report
TikTok documents two ways to start: use its online copyright form, or use the in-app path Share → Report → Counterfeits and intellectual property → Intellectual property violation. Follow the form’s prompts and provide complete, accurate information.

Provide the information and supporting documentation requested by TikTok to show that you own the work or are authorized to act for the owner. Identify the original work and the allegedly infringing TikTok post as precisely as possible. Incomplete or inaccurate submissions can delay review, and TikTok may contact the filer for missing information.
What happens after review
TikTok reviews the report under its intellectual-property policy. If it finds a violation, it may remove the content and notify both parties. A creator whose post was removed can appeal through the in-app notification and submit evidence explaining why the removal was wrong. Because an appeal exists, an accepted complaint is not the end of the process for the reported creator.
Remove a deleted or changed TikTok result from Google
If you deleted a TikTok post but an old Google listing remains, first check the result itself. Open the exact result URL rather than relying only on the preview text. If the page is gone or has changed substantially, Google’s Refresh outdated content request is the relevant tool.

When the outdated-content request fits
- The TikTok page no longer loads, or the URL now leads to a removed page.
- The page still loads but the material shown in Google’s result has changed significantly.
- The result is stale because Google has not yet recrawled the changed or deleted page.
Submit the exact result URL and describe the change requested by the form. The request updates Google’s search result; it does not take down a live TikTok page, erase a repost, or prevent someone from opening the source through another route.
Do not use the outdated-content tool for a live objectionable page
Google directs complaints about a live page that is harmful or unlawful to the applicable policy or legal-removal process instead of the stale-content tool. A page that still contains the same material is not “outdated” merely because you want it hidden. Using the wrong form can leave the source and the result unchanged.
Request Google removal for qualifying private information
Google has a separate policy-removal process for specified personal information and qualifying doxxing. This is narrower than a general request to hide an embarrassing or unwanted TikTok result.
Submit the exact result and explain the exposure
Provide the specific Google result URL and identify the personal information exposed. Explain how the result meets the relevant policy category. Google may remove the result from Search while the underlying TikTok page remains online.
Expect a limited or partial result
Google can limit removal to searches containing a particular name or identifier instead of removing every possible query. Its decision can also account for public interest. Material involving public figures, newsworthy events, or information that serves a legitimate public-interest purpose may receive different treatment from a private-person request.

Google Search Help summarizes the boundary this way: “Google can only remove things from Google Search results.” If the source page is still live, contact TikTok or the publisher for source removal as well; a Search decision does not delete the page.
Update a dead TikTok link in Bing or Copilot
Use Bing’s Content Removal Tool for a broken result
When the TikTok page is genuinely gone and Bing or Copilot still shows a dead link, submit the URL through Bing’s Content Removal Tool to request an expedited results update. The request concerns the broken search result, not the TikTok service itself.
Use source-side action when the page still works
If the TikTok URL still opens and the material is live, Microsoft’s guidance identifies the durable route as asking the site owner to remove it. A search-index update cannot make the source page disappear. For your own post, delete it in TikTok; for another person’s post, use the Community Guidelines or copyright route that actually applies.
A practical end-to-end workflow
- Copy and preserve the exact URL. Record the TikTok link and the search result URL shown by each engine.
- Check whether you control the account. If yes, delete the post from the video menu. If you may need it again, retain your own copy and remember the documented 30-day recovery period.
- If someone else posted it, select the reason-based route. Report a suspected Community Guidelines violation. If your copyrighted work was reposted, use TikTok’s intellectual-property form and provide ownership or authorization evidence.
- Test the source URL after any platform action. A page that returns an error or no longer contains the video may qualify for a stale-result request; a page that remains live needs a policy, legal, or source-owner route instead.
- Submit to the search engine showing the result. Use Google’s outdated-content request for a deleted or materially changed page, Google’s policy request for qualifying private information, or Bing’s Content Removal Tool for a dead Bing/Copilot link.
- Check other indexes and copies. Search engines operate separate indexes, and copies can exist on profiles, compilations, downloads, or other websites. Repeat the appropriate source or index request for each separate location.
- Recheck without assuming a deadline. The reviewed platform guidance does not publish a universal completion time or guarantee acceptance. Keep the case details and the URLs you submitted so you can identify what changed.
Troubleshooting common outcomes
The post is deleted in TikTok but still appears in Google
Open the Google result and verify whether the TikTok page is actually gone or merely still live. If it is gone or materially changed, use Refresh outdated content. If it still displays the video, the source deletion may not have completed, or the result may point to a copy. Contact the source owner for a live page and handle copied URLs separately.

TikTok rejected or did not act on a report
Review the reason you selected. A report should correspond to a specific Community Guidelines concern. If the issue is ownership of your creative work, submit the copyright form instead of repeating a general report. Do not file multiple inaccurate reports simply to increase pressure; provide a precise explanation and the relevant evidence.

A copyright complaint is missing information
Gather proof of ownership or authorization, identify the original work and the repost, and complete every required field accurately. TikTok may contact you for missing information. If the creator appeals, the creator can use the in-app notification to present evidence, so retain documentation that supports your claim.
The result is live but exposes personal information
Do not label it an outdated result if the page still contains the information. Use Google’s policy-removal process when the exposure fits a covered category, submit the exact result URL, and recognize that Google may limit removal to particular name- or identifier-based searches. Source removal still requires action by TikTok or the page owner.
The link is gone in one search engine but not another
Each engine maintains its own index. Submit the appropriate request separately to Google, Bing, or another service where the stale result appears. Removing a result in one engine does not create a change in another engine’s database.

The documented recovery window is up to 30 days, not a permanent archive. Confirm that you are signed in to the account that owned the post and that you are following Profile → Menu → Settings and privacy → Activity center → Recently deleted. If the retention period has passed, the in-app restoration route may no longer be available.
What search-result removal does not do
- It does not delete a TikTok post that is still live.
- It does not remove copies hosted on other websites, in social posts, or in downloads.
- It does not guarantee that a URL will disappear from every search engine.
- It does not guarantee that a result will be removed when public-interest or policy criteria are not met.
- It does not restore a TikTok post after the platform’s documented recovery period has ended.
The durable order is source first, index second: remove or correct the video where it is hosted, then request an update from every search engine that still displays an obsolete or qualifying result.
Interface and policy changes
TikTok, Google, and Microsoft can change menu labels, form fields, and eligibility rules. The labels above reflect the documented procedures available on October 11, 2026. If your app shows slightly different wording, look for the same functions—post-level delete, report, intellectual-property report, Recently deleted, outdated-content refresh, policy removal, or broken-link removal—rather than submitting a different type of complaint.
