To delete a video you posted on Facebook, find it in your profile’s Activity Log and check the available content-management options. Facebook groups videos and Reels under the Reels label, so older instructions that say “Videos” may not match the current interface. If by “video history” you mean websites or pages you visited inside Facebook, that is separate browsing data and clearing it will not remove a video you published.

First, identify what you want to remove

Your goal Where to look What the action affects
Delete a Reel or video you posted Your profile’s Activity Log and its content-management controls The shared content, if a delete option is available for that item
Clear websites or pages visited in Facebook’s in-app browser The in-app browser’s browsing-data settings Browsing data in that browser, not a Reel or video you posted
Limit who can see a Reel The Reel’s audience controls Who can view it; changing the audience is not deletion

Facebook describes Activity Log as a place to review and manage what you have shared. Its help guidance says Manage Activity can be used to archive or delete content, and that posts, photos, and videos can be managed there. The available controls may vary by content; Facebook’s cited guidance does not establish that every kind of video has identical options.

Find a video or Reel you posted

  1. Open your Facebook profile’s Activity Log. Facebook’s Activity Log help page identifies it as the place to review and manage shared content.
  2. Look through the content-management options. Find the relevant video and inspect the controls Facebook currently shows for it. Where available, Manage Activity supports actions such as archiving or deleting content.
  3. Check the Reels area if you cannot find an older “Videos” label. Facebook says it renamed the Videos tab to Reels in June 2025 and that videos posted to Facebook are being shared as Reels. The Reels area displays videos and Reels. See Facebook’s Reels help page.

Facebook’s published guidance does not confirm one universal sequence of buttons for deleting every individual Reel, nor does it establish that the controls are identical across devices or account interfaces. Use the labels and options visible in your account rather than relying on an old, device-specific menu description.

If you meant browsing history, clear that separately

Facebook’s in-app browser has its own browsing-data setting. Facebook says clearing that data applies to the in-app browser, and points users to Activity Log separately for managing Facebook activity. See Facebook’s in-app browser settings guidance. Clearing browsing data does not delete a Reel or video you posted.

#1 Best Overall
Meta Portal TV - Big Screen Smart Video Calling for Group Calls on Your TV
  • Scale up your greatest conversations. Smart video calling on your TV brings your favorite people, larger-than-life, into your living room.
  • Share the room. Perfect for group calls. Meta Portal TV captures your whole room so everyone is in view without jostling for position.
  • Call anyone, anywhere. Use apps like Messenger and WhatsApp to connect with friends and family—even if they don’t have a Meta Portal.
  • A more natural connection. Smart Camera adjusts automatically so you can move freely and stay in frame, while Smart Sound ensures you can be heard clearly.
  • Privacy by design. Easily disable the camera and microphone, or block the lens with the camera cover.

If you only want fewer people to see the Reel

Use the Reel’s audience controls if your goal is to limit its visibility rather than remove it. Facebook documents changing the audience for a specific Reel, and also explains how to set a default audience for Reels. An audience change affects who can see the Reel; it does not delete it.

What to do when you cannot find a delete option

  • Search Activity Log for the item and inspect the current Manage Activity options.
  • Check the Reels area, since Facebook renamed the Videos tab to Reels in June 2025.
  • If your goal is only to reduce visibility, check the Reel’s audience controls instead of treating that as deletion.
  • If the item still has no delete control, Facebook’s cited help pages do not establish why that is so or provide a universal per-Reel menu path. Follow the options shown in your account or consult Facebook’s current help guidance.

Facebook’s privacy settings guidance also describes Manage Activity as a way to manage some shared posts, photos, and videos.
