What the Kingdom Hearts Collection includes
Collection [I–III] bundles KINGDOM HEARTS -HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX-, KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind DLC. Square Enix’s Asia announcement notes that some components are digital only, so the contents of a box and the contents delivered through a download can differ by region and platform.
The current collection promotion is associated with Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Square Enix also names a Steam-exclusive Keyblade, but that naming does not by itself prove that every historical or legacy-platform edition has a physical release or identical purchase terms.

Do you need a code?
No code-entry method is established by the official collection listings reviewed. Square Enix describes the rewards as “included as part of the in-game content,” while the North American Square Enix Store calls the incentives redeemable with purchase. Those phrases indicate that entitlement is tied to the purchase and platform account rather than to a publicly documented, universal code.
That distinction matters because a code guide can send you to the wrong place. Do not assume the Keyblade arrives as an email code, a console-store voucher, a paper insert, or a web-form redemption. If your order includes a separate code, use only the redemption instructions printed by the store that sold the edition. Otherwise, treat the item as content that should be associated with the qualifying game entitlement.

How to claim and use the bonus safely
The following process avoids inventing menu labels that Square Enix has not published. It is a verification workflow, not an official sequence of button presses.
- Identify the platform and region. Write down whether the purchase is for Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or Steam, and note the store region. The Keyblade name and edition eligibility depend on that choice.
- Read the exact product listing before buying. Look for the platform-specific name—Long Night, Midnight Blue, Phantom Green, or Dead of Night—and for wording such as “included with purchase” or “in-game content.” Save the order page or receipt so you can prove which edition was purchased.
- Confirm that the purchased edition is eligible. The documented Nintendo Switch 2 rule covers both digital and physical Collection [I–III] purchases and the digital KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind edition. The documented Xbox rule covers the digital versions of those two offerings. Do not transfer those conditions to another platform without an explicit listing.
- Complete installation and required downloads. On a physical North American PS5 or Nintendo Switch 2 copy, connect the console to the internet and allow the additional data download. A disc or cartridge alone is not sufficient for the full playable collection under the store’s stated requirement.
- Sign in to the purchasing account. Use the same console or Steam account that owns the qualifying entitlement. If a disc was bought second-hand, verify that the included entitlement was not already associated with another account and that the listing did not require a separate promotional code.
- Install updates and all included components. Allow the platform store and the game launcher to finish updates. Collection [I–III] contains several separately presented games and Re Mind; an incomplete installation can make an included item appear absent even when the purchase is valid.
- Launch the relevant game after installation finishes. Use the game’s normal save, inventory, and equipment screens to see whether the platform Keyblade is available. The available official material does not identify a universal claim screen, mailbox, notification, chest, or exact menu path, so do not treat a guessed location as an official instruction.
- Keep proof of purchase if the item is missing. Record the platform, store region, edition name, purchase date, account, and the Keyblade named in the listing. Those details allow the platform store or Square Enix support to check the entitlement without requiring you to repeat the purchase.
Edition rules that are actually documented
Nintendo Switch 2
Square Enix Asia states that Long Night is included with either the digital or physical Collection [I–III]. It also states that Long Night is included with the digital KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind edition. The North American Square Enix Store lists a Nintendo Switch 2 version and identifies Long Night as a purchase incentive.

For a physical North American Nintendo Switch 2 copy, the store warns: “To play the physical version of KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I–III], an internet connection and additional data download are required.” Plan for that download before starting the collection, especially if the console has limited storage or a slow connection.
PlayStation 5
The official PlayStation product page displays Midnight Blue, and the North American store lists the PS5 incentive as redeemable with purchase. The reviewed official material does not provide a complete, platform-wide statement saying which physical, digital, or regional editions all qualify. Confirm the exact PS5 store page or package description for your territory rather than borrowing the Nintendo Switch 2 rule.

The North American physical PS5 listing carries the same practical installation warning: an internet connection and an additional data download are required. Buying a disc does not mean every collection component is playable directly from the disc without downloading data.
Xbox Series X|S
Square Enix Asia specifies Phantom Green for the digital Collection [I–III] and the digital KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind edition. The official Xbox product page independently displays Phantom Green. The reviewed sources do not establish an equivalent physical-Xbox eligibility statement, so check the exact digital or physical listing before assuming the bonus is included.

Steam
Dead of Night is the Steam-associated name in Square Enix’s platform list. However, the available official material does not state whether the item is attached to every Steam package, a particular edition, a launch window, or a specific region. Verify the current Steam product description or Square Enix support information for the edition you own.

In the North American store wording, “redeemable with purchase” describes an incentive attached to the qualifying transaction. It does not establish that you must type a token into a separate redemption website. Likewise, “included as part of the in-game content” means the item is intended to be delivered inside the game entitlement, not necessarily as a separately visible download in the console library.
Digital purchases normally associate entitlement with the account that completed the transaction. Physical purchases still require the correct disc or cartridge, the account used to access any associated content, and the downloads stated by the store. A resale, region mismatch, or purchase of a different edition can therefore produce a legitimate-looking copy that is not eligible for the same incentive.
Troubleshooting when the Keyblade is not visible
The store page does not name the Keyblade
- Stop before assuming the item is included. Open the current listing for the exact platform, edition, and region.
- Check whether the listing says Collection [I–III] or only KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind; those are separate products with different documented eligibility on some platforms.
- Keep a screenshot or receipt showing the incentive language. If the listing changed after purchase, the saved record helps the store or publisher investigate.
You bought a physical North American PS5 or Nintendo Switch 2 copy
- Connect to the internet and allow the additional data download required by the North American listing.
- Wait for the console to finish installing every collection component and any updates before checking the game.
- Use the account and physical copy associated with the purchase. If the disc or cartridge came from another owner, ask the seller whether a separate promotional code was already used, but do not assume a code exists unless the package says so.
You bought the documented digital Xbox or Nintendo Switch 2 edition
- Confirm that the transaction was for the digital Collection [I–III] or the digital KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind edition named in the eligibility statement.
- Sign out and back in to the purchasing account only after the download and updates have completed; this can refresh an account entitlement without altering saved data.
- If the Keyblade remains absent, provide the platform, edition, region, order number, and the official listing’s promised Keyblade to platform or Square Enix support.
You are on PlayStation or Steam
- Do not apply the Nintendo Switch 2 or Xbox edition rules automatically. Their conditions are more specifically documented than the conditions for every other platform.
- Check the current platform product page for the exact item name—Midnight Blue on PlayStation or Dead of Night on Steam—and verify that your purchased edition is the one described.
