To use the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass, you need the full Pokémon Pokopia game on Nintendo Switch 2. Buy the pass digitally through Nintendo eShop or Nintendo Store, install any available game update, then claim its bonuses from the in-game Downloadable Content and Mystery Gifts menus. The first expansion area, Bubbly Basin, also requires the free Dive move and completion of the Bleak Beach request “Raise the environment level!”; owning the pass by itself does not unlock the area immediately.
This guide explains how to redeem the Dynamic Ditto print recipe, use the emailed code for 30 rare Pokémetal ingots, download content through a virtual game card when necessary, and fix missing DLC.

Buy the correct product
The Expansion Pass is an add-on, not a standalone copy of Pokémon Pokopia. If the game is not already in your Switch 2 library, purchase the full game separately or choose a listing that explicitly combines the game and pass. Nintendo also lists a physical Switch 2 edition of the base game, but a physical listing does not automatically include the Expansion Pass. Read the exact product title and contents before paying.
The pass is sold through Nintendo eShop and Nintendo Store. Nintendo’s US announcement displayed a price of $34.99 when checked, but currency, tax, availability and price can change by region and date. Use the store attached to the Nintendo Account that will play the game. That makes it easier to identify the correct entitlement and the email address that receives the ingot code.
There is no separate physical cartridge or game-key card for the DLC itself in the listed products. A physical base-game purchase can solve the prerequisite if you do not own Pokémon Pokopia, while the pass remains a digital purchase.

Nintendo releases the pass in parts rather than making every area available at once. Nintendo Support lists Part 1, Bubbly Basin, as released on August 4, 2026. The same support information places Part 2 in late 2026 and Part 3 in 2027. Nintendo’s US product listing gives September 30, 2027 for Part 3. Release timing can vary or change by region, so check the current listing for your Nintendo Account region.

The pass therefore combines immediate purchase bonuses with expansion content that arrives on its own schedule. Receiving the recipe or ingots does not mean every future part has already downloaded, and seeing Bubbly Basin listed does not remove its in-game progression requirements.
How to claim the Dynamic Ditto print recipe
The recipe is delivered electronically inside Pokémon Pokopia. It does not arrive as a separate physical item or a downloadable file that you open from the HOME Menu.
- Start Pokémon Pokopia with the Nintendo Switch 2 user who should receive the bonus.
- Press + to open the in-game menu.
- Choose Downloadable Content.
- Select Check Items.
- Choose Receive and follow the on-screen confirmation.
- Return to the game and check the relevant crafting or print options for the Dynamic Ditto recipe.
Version 1.1.0 or later is required. If the game offers an update, finish installing it before checking the menu; an older build may not recognize the entitlement even when the purchase is complete. Also make sure you launched the game with the profile intended to use the pass, rather than a different local user.

If Receive does not show the recipe, confirm that the pass is installed on the console and that the purchasing Nintendo Account is the one associated with the active profile. Recheck the menu after the download finishes. The Downloadable Content screen is the in-game confirmation that the purchase has reached the save and user you are currently using.
How to redeem the 30 rare Pokémetal ingots
Nintendo sends the code to the email account associated with the Nintendo Account used for the purchase. Search that inbox, including spam or promotional folders, for the purchase-bonus message before beginning the in-game redemption. If several people use the console, verify which account actually paid for the pass; the code follows that purchase account, not simply the first profile opened on the system.
Redeem the code in Mystery Gifts
- Play Pokémon Pokopia for approximately 30 minutes so the Mystery Gifts feature becomes available.
- Open the game’s Mystery Gifts feature.
- Choose Get with Code/Password.
- Enter the code exactly as shown in the email, including any characters that could be confused with similar letters or numbers.
- Confirm the redemption and wait for the game to retrieve the gift over the internet.
- Follow the in-game prompts to claim the 30 rare Pokémetal ingots.
Mystery Gifts require an internet connection and a user profile linked to a Nintendo Account. Nintendo says a Nintendo Switch Online membership is not required for this bonus. You still need to let the feature unlock through play, so opening the menu immediately after a fresh start may not show the code option.
The bonus can be claimed only once. The code must be redeemed by August 31, 2027, and Nintendo says the in-game reward must be claimed on or before September 30, 2027. Treat these as two different deadlines: entering the code before August 31 is not the same as completing the in-game claim by September 30. Keep the email until the gift appears in game.
If no email arrives, verify which Nintendo Account completed the purchase and check that account’s registered email address. Search using the purchase date or Nintendo store sender, and check every filtered folder. Do not post the code publicly or give it to another player; a redeemed code cannot be used a second time. If the address and account are correct but the message is still missing, Nintendo Support can investigate the purchase record.
How to enter Bubbly Basin
Bubbly Basin is an underwater area included with Part 1. The Dive move is added to Pokémon Pokopia through a free software update, but the expansion pass does not skip the story or world-progression checks that lead to the underwater gate.
Complete both progression requirements
- Install the available Pokémon Pokopia update so the Dive move is present in your game.
- Progress until your character can learn and use Dive.
- Travel to Bleak Beach.
- Complete the important request “Raise the environment level!”.
- Return to the underwater gate and use Dive to enter Bubbly Basin.
If the gate remains unavailable, check both conditions separately. Having learned Dive is not enough if the Bleak Beach request is unfinished, and completing the request will not help if your software is missing the update that adds Dive. Purchasing the pass alone does not bypass either requirement.

Bubbly Basin access is also separate from claiming the purchase bonuses. You can receive the Dynamic Ditto recipe or ingots while still working toward the request, but the area will remain closed until the required progress is complete.
How to download the pass or DLC data
Most digital purchases install automatically or become available through the user who bought them. Nintendo’s indexed support instructions specifically describe redownloading content through a virtual game card, not one universal eShop path for every purchase method. Use the following sequence when the pass is owned but its data is not present.
Check for updates first
- Open the Switch 2 system settings and install any available system software update.
- Highlight Pokémon Pokopia on the HOME Menu, open its software options, and check for an available update.
- Start the game again after the update finishes.
Updating the system and the game addresses two different compatibility layers. The system update can affect virtual game card handling, while the Pokémon Pokopia update supplies features such as Dive and the version 1.1.0 requirement for the recipe.
Redownload through a virtual game card
- Open the virtual game card list on the Switch 2.
- Select the Nintendo Account user who purchased the game or DLC.
- Choose Pokémon Pokopia or the relevant DLC entry.
- Open Options.
- Select Download Data.
- Watch the HOME Menu download indicator and wait for the transfer to finish before launching the game.
The exact items shown can differ according to how the purchase was made and which account owns it. Do not assume that a virtual-game-card menu path applies to every digital transaction. If the DLC does not appear in the list, confirm that you are viewing the purchasing user’s virtual game cards. A purchase visible on the Nintendo website can still require a console download before the game detects it.
Verify the recipe after downloading
- Launch Pokémon Pokopia with the user who should play the content.
- Press + to open the Pokédex and game menu.
- Select Downloadable Content.
- Choose Check Items.
- Confirm that the Dynamic Ditto recipe is listed or can be received.
Seeing the pass in your Nintendo Account does not necessarily mean every purchase bonus has already been claimed in the game. The Downloadable Content menu is the check that connects the entitlement to the active save and user profile.
What to do when the DLC is missing
Work through these checks in order. Each one rules out a different cause, so skipping directly to the final step can leave an update or account mismatch unresolved.
1. Confirm the base game and account
- Make sure the full Pokémon Pokopia game is installed on the Switch 2. The Expansion Pass cannot run as a standalone title.
- Start the game with the user profile that should access the purchase.
- Confirm that this profile is linked to the Nintendo Account that bought the pass.
- If the console has multiple users, do not assume that sharing the same Switch 2 automatically shares every entitlement in the same way; check the purchasing user’s virtual game card list.
2. Install current software
- Update the Switch 2 system software.
- Update Pokémon Pokopia.
- For the Dynamic Ditto recipe, verify that the game is at least version 1.1.0.
3. Check the download state
- Open the virtual game card list for the purchasing user.
- Select the game or DLC, choose Options, and select Download Data if available.
- Wait for the HOME Menu to show that the download is complete.
4. Claim the in-game entitlement
- Open Pokémon Pokopia and press +.
- Go to Downloadable Content, then Check Items.
- Use Receive for the recipe if it is waiting to be claimed.
5. Check the ingot email and deadlines
- Look in the purchasing account’s registered email inbox and filtered folders.
- Confirm the code was entered under Mystery Gifts > Get with Code/Password.
- Check that the code was redeemed by August 31, 2027 and that the in-game reward was claimed by September 30, 2027.
6. Check Bubbly Basin’s separate requirements
- Verify that Dive is available after installing the free software update.
- Confirm that “Raise the environment level!” in Bleak Beach is complete.
- Return to the underwater gate only after both conditions are satisfied.
7. Contact Nintendo Support
If the account, updates, download status, recipe menu, email code, deadlines and progression requirements all check out but the content is still unavailable, contact Nintendo Support. Keep the purchasing Nintendo Account, console details, game version, purchase information and any error message available so support can identify the entitlement. Nintendo’s support sequence is intended to resolve the common update, download and account causes before escalation.

The Expansion Pass is digital Switch 2 DLC and requires the full Pokémon Pokopia game. Nintendo also lists a physical Switch 2 edition of Pokémon Pokopia. A physical base-game listing is useful if you do not own the game, but do not treat it as an Expansion Pass bundle unless the specific listing explicitly says it includes the pass.

Save the purchase email until both bonuses have been claimed. The code has a redemption deadline, the in-game gift has a separate claim deadline, and the Bubbly Basin entrance depends on game progress rather than ownership alone.

- You own the pass but cannot find the recipe: update Pokémon Pokopia to version 1.1.0 or later, launch with the purchasing or intended user, then use + > Downloadable Content > Check Items > Receive.
