Redeem a Forza Horizon 6 Xbox code with the Microsoft account that should own the game, then install it from your Xbox library, Microsoft Store, or Xbox app on Windows. The fastest web option is redeem.microsoft.com; you can also redeem on an Xbox console, in Microsoft Store on Windows, or in the Xbox PC app.
Xbox’s warning is decisive: “Just make sure you’re signed in to the correct Microsoft account before you redeem your code because you won’t be able to transfer it.”
What you need before redeeming
- A valid 25-character Xbox code. Enter all characters exactly as supplied.
- The Microsoft account that should permanently own the entitlement. A redeemed code cannot be moved to another account.
- An Xbox Series X|S console, or a Windows PC for the Microsoft Store or Xbox app installation.
- A reliable internet connection and enough storage for the game and any updates.
Forza Horizon 6 is available on Xbox Series X|S and on PC through the Xbox app and Steam. A code described as an Xbox code should be redeemed through Microsoft’s Xbox/Microsoft Store systems; a Steam purchase or Steam-specific key belongs in Steam instead.

Where you can redeem the code
| Redemption method | Use it when | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|
| redeem.microsoft.com | You are using any browser on a phone, tablet, Mac, or PC. | Sign in to the intended Microsoft account before entering the code. |
| Xbox Series X|S Store | You are already on the console that will install the game. | Use the Store’s Redeem command, not the mobile app. |
| Microsoft Store on Windows | You want the Microsoft Store version on a Windows PC. | The Store account must match the account that redeemed the code. |
| Xbox app on Windows | You plan to install and play through the Xbox PC app. | Redeem from the app’s Settings page. |
| Xbox mobile app | Not applicable. | The Xbox page says mobile redemption is currently unavailable. |
Redeem online at redeem.microsoft.com
- Open redeem.microsoft.com.
- Sign in with the Microsoft account that should receive Forza Horizon 6.
- Enter the complete 25-character code in the redemption field.
- Select Next, review the account and product shown, and follow the prompts to confirm.
- After confirmation, open the Xbox or Microsoft Store library while signed in to that same account and start the installation.
If the confirmation screen shows the wrong account, stop before selecting the final confirmation option. Sign out and restart the process with the intended account; the entitlement is not transferable after redemption.

Redeem in Microsoft Store on Windows
- Press Start, search for Microsoft Store, and open it.
- Select the account icon in the top-right corner and verify that it is the intended Microsoft account.
- Choose Redeem code or gift cards.
- Enter the 25-character code and select Next.

Open My games & apps or the Store listing, locate Forza Horizon 6 under the redeemed account, and select Install. Leave the console connected to the internet while the download and any required updates complete. Steam
Playground Games lists Steam as a separate PC storefront. A Microsoft/Xbox redemption is not automatically a Steam library purchase. Install through Steam only when the product or key you obtained is specifically a Steam edition.

The official availability information lists Standard, Deluxe, Premium, and Premium Upgrade paths. The meaningful differences are whether the base game is present, whether the purchase is standalone or tied to Game Pass, early access, and which extras are bundled.
| Edition or path | Base game | Early access | Bundle information established for this release |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard Edition | Standalone full-game bundle. | No Premium early-access entitlement is indicated. | Exact add-on contents are not stated in the available edition details. |
| Deluxe Edition | Standalone full-game bundle. | Early-access status is not stated in the available edition details. | Exact add-on contents are not stated in the available edition details. |
| Premium Edition | Standalone full-game bundle. | Premium early access began May 15, 2026. | The comparison includes VIP, Welcome Pack, Car Pass, Time Attack Car Pack, and expansions; the supplied availability details do not assign each item to a specific tier. |
| Premium Upgrade | Does not replace the base game. | Requires the base game or Game Pass; the upgrade alone is not a complete game license. | Adds Premium content to an eligible base game or Game Pass entitlement; the exact item list is not stated here. |
| Game Pass access | Standard Edition is included with Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass at no additional game charge, according to the May 19, 2026 availability announcement. | Subscription benefits and catalog availability can change. | A Premium Upgrade requires the base game or Game Pass. |
Before confirming a code or purchase, read the edition name on the redemption screen. A Premium Upgrade is intended for someone who already has the base game through a purchase or qualifying Game Pass access; it is not the correct replacement for a full-game code.

Forza Horizon 6 launched on May 19, 2026. Premium Edition early access started May 15, 2026. Those are launch-history dates, not a promise of a current promotion or future access window.
- Xbox console and Xbox app on PC availability began at 12:01 a.m. local time.
- Steam unlocked globally at 4:01 a.m. UTC.
- The game’s announced scope included over 550 cars.
- The Car Pass was announced with 30 total cars.
If you are redeeming after launch, the code should grant the product associated with its edition; launch-hour timing no longer determines when a successfully redeemed entitlement appears in your library.

What to do if the redeemed game is missing
- Check the account used for redemption. Open the Microsoft/Xbox account order or redemption history and verify that the transaction appears there. Then inspect the library while signed in to that same account.
- Check the storefront. An Xbox or Microsoft Store entitlement should be searched in the Xbox console library, Microsoft Store library, or Xbox PC app library. Do not expect it to appear in Steam unless the code was specifically for Steam.
- Recheck the code entry. Confirm that the original code had 25 characters and that every character was entered on a supported redemption surface. The mobile Xbox app is not a supported redemption route.
- Refresh the apps. Close and reopen the Store or Xbox app, then sign in again to the account shown in the redemption history before checking the library.
- Separate game entitlement from promotional rewards. A redeemed game can be present even when a promotional car pack, credit, or other reward has not appeared yet.
- Use the current Microsoft help flow for an error code. Microsoft provides redemption troubleshooting and Xbox error/status-code help, but there is no Forza Horizon 6-specific error-code matrix in the published availability information. The exact code and the screen where it appeared determine the appropriate next step.
Finding promotional rewards
Promotional items can have separate eligibility and delivery rules from the game license. Microsoft’s Forza Horizon 6 terms say eligible PC buyers can look in Offers & credits on xbox.com/play. Eligible console buyers should open Store, select the profile icon, and choose Offers & credits.
If the game is installed but a promotion is absent, check that section rather than redeeming the game code again. Confirm that the purchase platform, account, and promotion eligibility match the terms for the offer; timing can differ from the moment the game entitlement appears.
