You can read a Kindle book on an XTEINK X4 Pro only when you can obtain a compatible, accessible file that the reader can open. XTEINK documents the X4 Pro primarily as a local-file reader with EPUB and TXT document support; its official materials do not document a Kindle app, Kindle Store access, or direct sign-in to an Amazon Kindle library.
That makes the title’s format and rights status decisive. An eligible, DRM-free Kindle purchase may offer an EPUB download that you can transfer with the XTEINK app or a USB cable. A DRM-protected purchase, Kindle Unlimited loan, or other borrowed title does not have the same documented route. Do not treat Send to Kindle as a way to copy an Amazon library to the X4 Pro.
What the XTEINK X4 Pro actually reads
The X4 Pro is documented as an e-reader for files stored locally on the device or its storage, not as a Kindle-account client. XTEINK’s detailed specification and support FAQ identify EPUB and TXT as document formats. The same FAQ lists JPG and BMP for images and BIN and XTF for fonts. It does not describe installing Android, Google Play, the Kindle app, or another store’s reading application.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteIn practical terms, the workflow is:
- Obtain a file that you are allowed to download and that the X4 Pro supports.
- Move that file to the reader using the XTEINK companion app or USB.
- Open it from the X4 Pro’s local library.
The product page contains some higher-level format summaries that are broader than the detailed specification. For a purchase or transfer decision, use the detailed specification and the dated FAQ rather than assuming that every format shown in a marketing summary works in every firmware or import path. XTEINK specifically tells owners whose libraries depend on PDF, MOBI, PNG, a store-specific format, or DRM-protected books to confirm compatibility with support before ordering. See the X4 Pro FAQ and specifications and the X4 Pro product page.

What “unlocked firmware” does not mean
The FAQ’s use of “unlocked firmware” is not a promise that the X4 Pro runs Android or includes Google Play. It also does not establish support for every third-party app, bookstore, DRM system, or cloud service. If your plan depends on running the Kindle app, assume that plan is unsupported unless XTEINK confirms it for your exact firmware and file workflow.
Three Kindle-book situations with different answers
| Kindle title situation | Can you get a file for the X4 Pro? | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Purchased book offered as an eligible DRM-free EPUB | Potentially yes | Download the EPUB through Amazon’s permitted process, then transfer it with the XTEINK app or USB. |
| DRM-protected Kindle purchase | No documented X4 Pro route | Keep reading it in a supported Kindle app or device, or ask Amazon and XTEINK about an officially supported alternative. |
| Kindle Unlimited or other borrowed book | No EPUB/PDF download under Amazon’s stated policy | Read it through the borrowing service’s supported Kindle workflow; do not present the X4 Pro as a way to move the loan. |
Eligible DRM-free purchase
Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing says verified purchasers can download EPUB or PDF files for eligible DRM-free books beginning January 20, 2026. The offer is title-specific: an EPUB download must actually appear for the book in your account or purchase flow. If Amazon supplies an EPUB, it is the most straightforward Kindle-to-X4-Pro path because EPUB is one of the X4 Pro’s detailed document formats.
Download availability is not proof that every edition, region, or format of a book qualifies. Check the individual title, save the original downloaded file, and transfer that file without changing its extension. Amazon’s DRM guidance is available at Amazon KDP’s digital-rights-management help page.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →DRM-protected purchase
Amazon’s policy does not make EPUB or PDF downloads available for DRM-protected titles. The reviewed XTEINK documentation does not establish a supported method for opening such a purchase on the X4 Pro. A book appearing in your Kindle library therefore does not imply that a transferable EPUB exists.

- MULTIPLE WAYS TO TRANSFER & READ YOUR FILES — Use the XTEINK App, microSD card, or USB connection to transfer compatible reading files. X4 Classic supports formats including TXT, EPUB, MOBI, PDF, and PNG, giving you flexible ways to manage your personal reading collection.
- MAGNETIC BACK & 920MAH BATTERY — The built-in magnetic back works with compatible magnetic surfaces and accessories, while the 920mAh battery supports everyday reading. With its compact eReader design, X4 Classic fits easily into daily reading routines at home, during travel, or on the go.
Do not remove or bypass DRM to force a transfer. That can violate the title’s license or applicable law, and there is no documented XTEINK procedure that makes protected Kindle content compatible. Use a Kindle app or Kindle device for the protected title, or contact the relevant support teams if you need an accessibility or ownership option.
Kindle Unlimited and other borrowed titles
Amazon says customers who borrow books through Kindle Unlimited or other borrowing services cannot download EPUB or PDF files, even when the book itself is DRM-free. A loan is therefore not equivalent to a DRM-free purchase. The X4 Pro cannot be used as a documented workaround for that restriction.
How to check whether a particular Kindle book is transferable
Use this check before connecting the reader or buying accessories:
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
- Open the book’s purchase or library-management page in your Amazon account.
- Look for an explicit EPUB or PDF download option associated with that title. Do not infer eligibility from the fact that the book is in your Kindle library.
- Confirm that you bought the book rather than borrowed it through Kindle Unlimited or another service.
- Confirm that the offered file is not identified as DRM-protected. Amazon’s January 20, 2026 download policy applies to eligible DRM-free books, not protected books.
- Prefer EPUB for the X4 Pro because EPUB is listed in its detailed document-format specification. If Amazon offers only PDF, verify PDF compatibility with XTEINK before relying on it.
- Keep the downloaded file in its original form. If the title is not offered in a format the X4 Pro supports, stop at this point rather than attempting an unsupported conversion.
Amazon’s general file-transfer documentation explains its Send to Kindle and Kindle-device workflow, but that service is designed for Kindle accounts and supported Kindle destinations. It does not establish compatibility with a separate XTEINK reader. The relevant Amazon help page is Connect, Browse, and Transfer Files on E-Reader.

Transfer an eligible EPUB with the XTEINK app
XTEINK’s documented app route sends a compatible local file to the reader through the companion app. The exact labels below follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Bind the reader. Open the XTEINK app and bind the X4 Pro to your account or app session.
- Connect the reader to Wi-Fi. The X4 Pro needs network access for the app’s cloud-sync step.
- Open the device page. Select the bound X4 Pro in the app.
- Choose Import. Use the Import command and select the compatible EPUB or TXT file from the phone.
- Run Cloud Sync on the reader. On the X4 Pro, open the menu and choose Cloud Sync to receive the imported file.
- Open the book locally. After synchronization completes, find the title in the X4 Pro’s local library and open it.
If the title does not appear, first check that the phone selected the actual downloaded EPUB rather than a shortcut, web page, or protected container. Then confirm that the reader is bound to the same app account, is connected to Wi-Fi, and has completed Cloud Sync. The app path is a file-transfer process; it does not sign the X4 Pro into your Kindle account or create Kindle reading-progress synchronization.
Transfer the file over USB
USB is useful when you already have the compatible file on a computer or when app-based transfer is inconvenient.
- Connect the reader. Use a compatible USB connection between the X4 Pro and the computer.
- Select USB Mode on the reader. Open the X4 Pro menu and choose USB Mode.
- Wait for the device to appear. The computer should expose the reader as an available storage device.
- Copy the file. Drag the compatible EPUB or TXT file to the X4 Pro’s available storage.
- Eject safely. Use the computer’s eject command before disconnecting, then open the file from the reader’s library.
The USB instructions do not turn a Kindle purchase into a transferable file. They only describe how to copy a file that you already have permission to use and that the X4 Pro can open. If the computer does not show the reader, return to the device, verify that USB Mode is selected, reconnect with another compatible cable or port, and avoid disconnecting while a copy is in progress.
Formats, storage, and hardware details that affect this use case
| Specification | Published detail | Why it matters for Kindle files |
|---|---|---|
| Display | 4.3 inches | Portable screen size for local EPUB/TXT reading; it does not provide Kindle-account access. |
| Resolution | 219 PPI | Relevant to text sharpness, not file or DRM compatibility. |
| Included storage | 16 GB microSD card | Provides local storage for compatible files; it is not required to make a protected title readable. |
| Expansion | Up to 256 GB | Useful for a larger local library when the card and reader configuration meet XTEINK’s limits. |
| Battery | 1100 mAh | A published capacity figure, not an independent runtime test. |
| Detailed document formats | EPUB and TXT | These are the safest formats to target from the documented specification. |
| Detailed image formats | JPG and BMP | Image support does not imply support for a Kindle book container or DRM. |
| Font formats | BIN and XTF | Font files are separate from ebook files and do not affect Kindle-account compatibility. |
The specifications above are product information published by XTEINK in 2026, not independent performance measurements. Storage expansion is optional; ordinary EPUB transfer does not require buying a separate microSD card when the included storage is sufficient.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why Send to Kindle is not the X4 Pro solution
Send to Kindle moves supported personal documents into Amazon’s Kindle account and device ecosystem. The X4 Pro is a separate reader that, according to the reviewed official documentation, imports compatible local files through its own app or USB process. Those are different delivery systems.
Sending a document to Kindle may make it available in a Kindle app or Kindle device, but it does not bind an X4 Pro to the Amazon account, install a Kindle application, or expose your Kindle library in the XTEINK library. The service therefore cannot be presented as a direct transfer method for this reader.
The same distinction applies to reading position, highlights, and annotations. The official sources reviewed do not establish Kindle/X4 Pro progress synchronization. Treat the EPUB on the X4 Pro as a separate local copy rather than promising that its position will follow you back to Kindle apps.

Troubleshooting a file that will not open
The file is missing after app import
- Confirm that the X4 Pro is bound in the XTEINK app and connected to Wi-Fi.
- Check that you used Import on the device page.
- Run Cloud Sync from the X4 Pro menu after the import.
- Verify that the selected item is an actual EPUB or TXT file stored on the phone.
- Retry with a small, known-compatible file to separate an app problem from a title-format problem.
The computer does not show the reader
- Connect the X4 Pro directly with a compatible USB cable.
- Select USB Mode from the reader’s menu.
- Try another computer port or cable if the connection remains absent.
- Wait for the device to mount before copying, and eject it before unplugging.
The file copies but will not open
- Check the extension and confirm that the file is EPUB or TXT, the detailed formats listed by XTEINK.
- Do not assume a file is compatible merely because it came from a Kindle library.
- If the source offered only PDF, MOBI, PNG, or another store-specific format, ask XTEINK support about that exact file type before ordering or troubleshooting further.
- If the title is DRM-protected or borrowed, a failed open may reflect rights restrictions rather than a transfer error.
The book opens but looks wrong
First test another EPUB from a different source. If only one title is affected, its internal layout or file construction may be the cause. If several compatible files display incorrectly, record the file extensions, firmware information, and transfer route, then contact XTEINK support. Avoid renaming a protected file or using an unverified conversion as a fix.
Choosing the right reading setup
Choose the X4 Pro for a local EPUB library
The X4 Pro makes sense when you are comfortable managing files independently of Amazon and your books are available as compatible, non-protected EPUB or TXT documents. The app and USB routes give you two ways to load those files, and the included microSD storage supports a portable local collection.
Use Kindle apps or devices for a Kindle-account library
If your priority is opening every purchased title, borrowing Kindle Unlimited books, downloading protected editions, or keeping Amazon reading progress and annotations synchronized, use a supported Kindle app or Kindle device. The X4 Pro’s documented local-file model does not provide those account features.
Ask before buying when PDF or another format is essential
XTEINK’s July 23, 2026 FAQ specifically recommends confirming compatibility for PDF, MOBI, PNG, store-specific formats, and DRM-protected books. Send support the exact extension and, where relevant, the title’s rights status. A general product-page format list is not enough assurance for a format that your library depends on.
Bottom line for Kindle owners
There is no documented Kindle app or direct Kindle-library connection on the XTEINK X4 Pro. The workable route is narrower: obtain an eligible, DRM-free Kindle title as an EPUB, then import that local file with the XTEINK app or copy it through USB. DRM-protected purchases and borrowed Kindle Unlimited books do not have an established transfer path, and Send to Kindle does not change that. Verify the individual title and the exact file format before you rely on the X4 Pro for it.
