The fastest 1–45 route in Aion 2 is straightforward: keep Episode quests moving, use Regional quests and Sealed Dungeons only to fill Ascension-gauge gaps, and return to the main story immediately after each gate opens. In the global client represented by Aion2Data’s 9 October 2026 snapshot (version 2.0.6.0 hotfix 1, Steam build 25800038), Episode quests provide 96.9% of the experience required for Elyos characters and 99.2% for Asmodians. Your actual Aion 2 level cap can differ by region and patch, however; NCsoft’s 6 July 2026 Chapter 1 announcement describes a cap of 50 in that update context.
Check your Aion 2 level cap before you start
Live-service clients do not necessarily share the same progression limits. Aion2Data’s global-client snapshot lists level 45 as the cap for build 2.0.6.0 hotfix 1, while NCsoft’s Chapter 1 release says the cap increased to 50 and introduced Morheim for Askmodians, Eltnen for Elyos, and additional progression systems. Verify the cap and unlock requirements shown by your own launcher and in-game Journal before following a fixed-level plan.
The route below is therefore written as the fastest 1–45 route for the global data set, with a warning that later regional updates may extend the final checkpoint.
The fastest 1–45 route
1. Treat Episode quests as your default activity
Open the Journal and follow the Episode chain whenever it is available. Episode objectives supply nearly all experience on the fastest route, move you through required zones, and unlock systems without the travel and combat overhead of a completionist clear. Do not abandon the chain to sweep every side quest in a zone.
2. Fill Ascension-gauge pauses with nearby content
When an Episode objective stops because your Ascension gauge is too low, open the Journal and select Regional quests at or above your current level. Add a Sealed Dungeon if the gauge still needs progress. Favor tasks in the same zone or against the same enemies as your active Episode objective, then stop as soon as the gauge reaches 100 percent. Use the Episode quest’s Teleport button and resume the story.
3. Stack objectives instead of detouring
Accept overlapping Regional and Episode objectives together. A single trip that defeats the required enemies, collects the same materials, and completes both quest counters is efficient; a side quest that sends you to a distant map is not. During a speed-focused run, skip optional objectives that do not advance the current zone, gauge, or story unlock.

- Fly when the route and your current unlocks make it practical.
- Leave completed instances through their available teleport or exit option rather than retracing the entrance path.
Level checkpoints and what they unlock
The following checkpoints come from Aion2Data’s 2026 global-client extraction. Names and levels can change with a regional patch.

Manage Expeditions and Odyle Energy
The story begins unlocking Expeditions at about level 22. Mobalytics reports that Odyle Energy regenerates at 15 points every three hours after that unlock. Storage is 560 energy without membership and 840 with membership; claiming a level-45 Expedition cube costs 40 energy.

Complete Expeditions required by the story, but do not automatically claim every optional early cube. Leveling-dungeon equipment is replaced quickly, so preserving energy for useful level-45 rewards is usually better than spending it on temporary upgrades. Check the reward and its level before consuming a limited claim.
Keep your character strong without slowing progression
Spend permanent power first
- Assign skill points as soon as they are available.
- Upgrade frequently used skills and Stigmas rather than spreading materials across every ability.
- Review Daevanion boards after unlocking nodes so attribute and skill bonuses are actually active.
Do not overbuild temporary gear
Enhance only enough to clear your current Episode, Ascension, or dungeon requirements. Heavy investment in leveling equipment wastes enhancement materials when a later quest or dungeon replaces it. Keep Power Shards for difficult encounters instead of consuming them on easy fights.
Rank #4
Postpone full pet-soul collection
Leave extended pet-soul farming until level 45. Mobalytics reports that a regular pet requires 105 souls for maximum collection level, making full collection a substantial detour while the main story is still providing superior experience per minute.
What to do when the Ascension gauge is blocked
- Open the Journal and confirm which Ascension requirement is incomplete.
- Accept nearby Regional quests at or above your level.
- Add a Sealed Dungeon when it provides the missing gauge progress or overlaps your route.
- Prioritize objectives sharing the Episode zone or enemy list.
- Stop at 100 percent, press the Episode quest’s Teleport button, and continue the story.
If no nearby activity fills the gauge, check whether a required Expedition, dungeon, or level checkpoint has just unlocked. Completing unrelated map-clearing objectives is slower than satisfying the specific gate and returning to the Episode chain.
Best Value
Rush route versus completionist route
A rush route maximizes experience per minute: it follows Episodes, accepts only efficient overlapping side objectives, minimizes travel distance, preserves Odyle Energy and enhancement materials, and reaches Ascension systems and dungeons as soon as the story allows. A completionist route intentionally spends more time on optional quests, exploration, pet souls, early equipment, and distant objectives. Choose the second approach only when collection, lore, or zone completion matters more than reaching the cap quickly.
Common mistakes that make leveling slower
- Clearing every Regional quest before checking whether the Episode chain is ready.
- Running long distances instead of activating teleports or using flight.
- Claiming every early Expedition cube and arriving at endgame rewards with depleted Odyle Energy.
- Max-enhancing gear that will be replaced during the next story chapter.
- Farming 105 pet souls per regular pet before reaching level 45.
- Assuming a level cap from another region or patch without checking the current client.
Practical verdict
For the global 2.0.6.0 hotfix 1 data set, keep Episode quests active almost continuously, use Regional quests and Sealed Dungeons only to clear Ascension gates, and optimize travel with teleports, flight, and fast instance exits. Save Odyle Energy and upgrade materials for later rewards, then verify your region’s current cap before calling level 45—or level 50—the final target.
