In EA SPORTS FC 26, the route into the competition many players still call “Weekend League” runs through Division Rivals and Champions Qualification Points (CQP). Play Rivals, earn the amount of CQP shown in your current Ultimate Team qualification panel, and reach Division 6. When both conditions are met, FC 26 qualifies you automatically for Champions; there is no Champions Play-Offs stage to complete.
Players in Division 7 or below use Challengers instead. The exact CQP threshold, event dates and live entry prompt can change, so rely on the qualification display inside your current game rather than an old points number or an older support article.
What “Weekend League” means in FC 26
“Weekend League” and “FUT Champs” are familiar player names for the high-level weekend competition in Ultimate Team. EA’s current FC 26 terminology is Champions. The name change does not alter the practical question: you must satisfy the active Champions qualification conditions in Ultimate Team before you can enter the available event.

FC 26 also has Challengers, a separate Champions version for players in Division 7 or lower. It has its own format and rewards. EA’s public launch information does not establish a universal match count or schedule for Challengers, so those details should be read from the live event panel in your copy of the game.

These rules come from EA’s FC 26 launch update. Because event information is live, the in-game panel is the authority for the amount of CQP currently required and for the event’s entry window.
Step-by-step: qualify for Champions
1. Open the correct Ultimate Team area
- Start FC 26 and enter Ultimate Team.
- Open the Division Rivals area. Do not begin by looking for a Play-Offs bracket: FC 26 does not use that qualification stage.
- Find the Champions qualification or CQP display associated with your Ultimate Team account. The exact placement of a tile or panel can vary with the current menu presentation, but it is the value shown by the active FC 26 interface that matters.
If the panel is not immediately visible, inspect the Rivals and Champions tiles rather than relying on a search result or a remembered menu path from an earlier FC title. Live-service menus can be rearranged without changing the underlying rule.

2. Play Division Rivals to earn CQP
Play Rivals matches while tracking the CQP total in the qualification display. EA’s FC 26 update identifies Rivals as the way to earn these points, including for players in Division 7. CQP is a qualification currency; it is not the same thing as a Champions rank, a win total, or a reward milestone after you enter the event.
There is no verified universal number to type into a guide for every FC 26 account. EA’s launch update does not state a fixed threshold, and publishing a number from an older season could cause you to stop short of the live requirement. Read the number and any progress indicator shown in your game instead.

3. Reach Division 6
Continue your Rivals progression until the account reaches Division 6. Division placement is a separate condition from your CQP balance. Reaching the division alone is not a substitute for the displayed points requirement, and having points while remaining below Division 6 does not satisfy the automatic-qualification rule described by EA.
When the game shows Division 6 and your CQP meets the active requirement, FC 26 automatically qualifies you for Champions. Look for the resulting status or entry prompt in the Champions area. You should not have to enter a Play-Offs tournament or exchange a token first.

After qualification, open the Champions tile and follow the event prompt presented by FC 26. It is the safest way to confirm which event is currently available, whether the entry period is open and what action the game expects. The launch update establishes the automatic qualification route, but it does not publish a permanent calendar that applies to every future event.
Take a screenshot of the qualification status if you need to contact support. Include your division, the CQP amount shown and the exact message on the entry panel; those details help distinguish an unmet requirement from a closed event window.
How to read the CQP requirement
Why a fixed points number is not provided here
The FC 26 launch update explains the route but does not give a single universal CQP total. A number copied from a prior FC season, a different region or a community post can therefore be misleading. Treat the amount displayed in Ultimate Team as the current requirement for your account and event.

What to record before you play
- Your current division, especially whether it is Division 6 or Division 7.
- Your current CQP balance and the target displayed by the qualification panel.
- Whether the panel says you are qualified, still progressing or waiting for an entry window.
- The event name and any deadline shown in the Champions or Challengers tile.
Recording these four items prevents a common mistake: assuming that a completed Rivals session or a promotion automatically means that Champions entry is available.
When the display and an external guide disagree
Use the in-game FC 26 display for the active threshold. The official launch update is the source for the structural rule—Rivals CQP plus Division 6 leads to automatic qualification—but the live interface is the source for the amount currently required. Do not infer a threshold from Champions rank rewards, because those rewards are earned after entry and do not determine qualification.
Entering Champions after you qualify
Confirm the status first
Open the Champions area and verify that the game identifies your account as qualified. If it still shows a CQP target, continue Rivals until that target is met. If it shows qualification but no playable event, check the event dates or availability message rather than trying to find a missing Play-Offs menu.
Use the event’s own entry control
Select the control offered by the current Champions event. FC 26’s launch information does not require a Finals Qualification Token, and the removed Play-Offs stage should not appear in the current route. If your menu displays a different sequence, read the on-screen wording carefully and capture it before assuming that an older procedure applies.
Do not confuse qualification with rank progress
Qualification only gives access to the Champions event. Your results inside that event determine your rank and rewards. EA expanded Champions from 10 to 15 rank tiers in FC 26, with rewards for every win and milestone tiers at 12 wins and 14 wins. Those figures describe the reward ladder after you are playing; they are not the CQP entry threshold.

Challengers is not a failed Champions qualification attempt and does not use the same eligibility description. If you remain in Division 7 or lower, select Challengers and read its event-specific rules rather than trying to force entry into the Division 6 Champions route.
Why the old Play-Offs instructions are wrong for FC 26
Many search results and support pages describe a sequence in which a player earns points, enters Champions Play-Offs, wins enough matches and redeems a Finals Qualification Token. That sequence is not the FC 26 route described in EA’s launch update, which explicitly removes Champions Play-Offs.
EA’s current general support page, Ultimate Team Champions help, still contains Play-Offs and Finals Qualification Token language. For an FC 26 question, that generic or legacy sequence conflicts with the FC 26-specific announcement. Follow the FC 26 launch update and the live Ultimate Team interface instead of combining the two sets of instructions.
If a support response points you toward Play-Offs, state that you are playing FC 26 and provide the exact qualification panel message. The version and the wording on your screen are important evidence because rules can differ between annual releases.
Common problems and what to check
“I have CQP, but I am not qualified.”
- Check your division. The automatic route requires Division 6 as well as the displayed CQP amount.
- Refresh the Ultimate Team menus or return to the Champions tile so the current status loads.
- Compare your balance with the target shown in the active panel, not with a number from a video or older article.
“I reached Division 6, but the game still shows a target.”
Division 6 is only one part of the condition. Continue Rivals until the displayed CQP requirement is met, then revisit the Champions panel. Do not treat promotion as proof that the points condition has been completed.
“I cannot find Champions Play-Offs.”
That is expected under the FC 26 launch rules: Play-Offs were removed. Look for the Champions qualification status and event entry prompt instead. A menu guide written for an earlier FC release is not evidence that a Play-Offs tile should exist in FC 26.
“The menu offers Challengers instead of Champions.”
Check whether your current division is 7 or lower. EA positions Challengers as the separate competition for those divisions. Its format and rewards differ, and the detailed live particulars must be read from the event panel.
“I am qualified, but there is no button to start.”
- Read the event availability dates or status message; qualification and an open event window are different states.
- Make sure you are viewing the Champions tile rather than a Rivals reward screen.
- Restart the game only after noting the displayed message, so you can report the exact wording if the status does not update.
- When contacting EA support, include your platform, FC 26 version, division, CQP balance and a screenshot of the qualification panel.
“The help article says I need a Finals token.”
That wording comes from the generic support sequence linked above and conflicts with the FC 26 launch update. Do not redeem a token or search for a Play-Offs bracket as a prerequisite for FC 26 Champions unless a current in-game message specifically introduces a different rule for your event.

- Confirm that you are in FC 26, not following an FC 25 or earlier guide.
- Enter Ultimate Team and open Division Rivals.
- Locate the current Champions qualification display.
- Write down your division, CQP balance and the target shown.
- Play Rivals until the target is met.
- Progress to Division 6.
- Reopen Champions and verify the automatic qualification status.
- Use the event’s current entry prompt when the event is available.
- If you are Division 7 or lower, use Challengers and read its separate rules.
- Keep a screenshot of any contradictory message before contacting support.
This checklist deliberately omits Play-Offs and Finals Qualification Tokens because they are not part of the FC 26 route announced by EA.
Version and date boundaries
Annual FC releases can change qualification rules. The instructions in this article apply to FC 26’s launch-era rules and the current FC 26 terminology described by EA. EA’s FC 27 launch update concerns a later game version and should not be used to alter FC 26 steps.
Likewise, a future FC 26 tuning change could alter the displayed CQP amount, event timing or menu labels without changing the wording of older articles. When a number, deadline or button label matters, use what Ultimate Team shows in your installed game at that moment.
Does buying FC 26 grant Champions qualification?
No. Owning or purchasing EA SPORTS FC 26 gives you access to the game and its Ultimate Team mode, but it does not by itself satisfy the Rivals, CQP or Division 6 conditions. Qualification is earned through the in-game route described above. Edition, platform, price and stock do not replace the requirement shown in Ultimate Team.
