The safest way to preorder a limited One Piece figure is to treat the announcement and the retailer listing as two separate steps. Follow the relevant maker’s official news, identify the exact character and edition, then verify that a specific seller is accepting preorders for your region, with clear release and cancellation terms. An event announcement alone does not prove that an online preorder is open.
This guide gives you a repeatable process for finding releases, checking whether a listing is genuinely a preorder, comparing sellers, and avoiding the most common limited-release mistakes.
What a One Piece preorder actually guarantees
A preorder is an order placed before the seller has the finished item available for normal shipment. It may reserve inventory from an announced production run, but the exact reservation, payment, cancellation and allocation rules belong to the seller. There is no universal preorder policy covering every One Piece figure maker or retailer.
Limited products add another complication. A product can be announced without being available to order, offered only at a convention booth, released earlier in another region, or listed after the preorder window has closed. Read the product page—not just a social post, headline or convention calendar—to determine what you can buy.

- Announcement: confirms that a maker or brand is presenting a product or event plan. It is a monitoring signal, not proof of an open order window.
- Open preorder: a specific product page accepts orders and states, or clearly implies, that the item will ship after a future release.
- In-stock listing: the seller says the item is available now. It is not a preorder, even if the figure was recently announced.
- Event exclusive: availability is tied to a convention or event channel and may be limited to on-site stock or a separate regional sale.
- Sold out or closed: the page no longer accepts orders, or the seller has reached its allocation. A back-in-stock form is not the same as a confirmed preorder.
Where to monitor One Piece figure announcements
Start with the maker and brand news pages
One Piece figures appear across multiple product lines and makers. An official Bandai Namco Toys & Collectibles America release from October 3, 2022, for example, identified Figuarts ZERO, MegaHouse Portrait of Pirates and Anime Heroes products in its One Piece U.S.A. Tour exhibit. The release described more than 60 products from Tamashii Nations, Bandai Hobby, MegaHouse and Banpresto; that number referred to the exhibit, not the number of current One Piece figure SKUs or available preorders. Use the maker’s own announcement for the authoritative spelling of the character, product line, edition and release region. Retailer listings can abbreviate or mistranslate those details, especially when a product has several versions.
Use official preorder and Tamashii Nations categories as watchlists
Bandai maintains a general preorder-news category and a Tamashii Nations news category. These are useful monitoring points, but category pages can contain older stories and do not guarantee that a particular upcoming One Piece figure will appear there. Check the publication date and open the individual product announcement before assuming that an order window is active.
Track convention announcements, but separate displays from sales
Convention pages often mix product reveals, display items and exclusives. Bandai’s September 24, 2026 announcement for New York Comic Con names One Piece among its featured properties and says event exclusives at the Tamashii Nations booth are available while supplies last. It does not identify a One Piece preorder product or provide a universal preorder calendar. See the NYCC 2026 announcement.
The 2026 San Diego Comic-Con announcement likewise describes figure displays and event exclusives without establishing a One Piece preorder schedule. Treat it as a signal to look for a later product page, not as an order link: Bandai Namco’s San Diego Comic-Con 2026 announcement.
Identify the exact figure before you search for a seller
“A Luffy figure” is not a sufficient product identity. The same character can appear in different scales, poses, materials, articulation levels and product lines, with different release dates and prices. Copy the complete identity from the official announcement and use it consistently when searching.

Save a copy of the announcement URL and the product title when you first find them. If a retailer later changes its title, the original details give you a reliable comparison point.

How to tell whether a preorder is still open
Use this procedure for every candidate listing. It is a verification checklist, not a guarantee that any retailer will honor an allocation.
- Open the individual product page. Do not rely on a search-result snippet, category badge or social-media post.
- Match the identity. Confirm character, maker, line, edition, item code and package contents against the official announcement.
- Read the availability label. Look for explicit wording such as “preorder,” “pre-order,” or an equivalent statement that shipment will occur after release. If the page says “in stock,” it is not a preorder.
- Check the order control. A functioning quantity selector and add-to-cart or checkout control indicate that the seller is currently accepting orders. A disabled button, “sold out” label or waitlist form does not.
- Record the closing date if one is stated. Some pages show only an estimated release month; others state a preorder deadline. Never infer a deadline from another retailer or from the convention date.
- Confirm the release estimate. Record the month or quarter exactly as written and note that estimates can change. A listing with no release estimate should be treated as incomplete rather than filled in from a different page.
- Check region and shipping. Make sure the seller ships to your destination and that the stated release timing applies to your region. A Japanese or North American release date may not apply elsewhere.
- Review seller identity and terms before payment. Verify the legal seller shown at checkout, payment timing, cancellation rules, refund process and any allocation language. These terms are retailer-specific.
Read availability language literally
“Preorder” or “ships after release”
These phrases normally indicate a future shipment, but confirm that the page identifies the same product and gives a release estimate. A page can retain a preorder label after its ordering window has ended, so the checkout control and current stock message still matter.
“While supplies last”
This wording signals constrained availability. Bandai used it for event exclusives at its Tamashii Nations booth in the 2026 New York Comic Con announcement. It describes the event allocation; it does not establish an online preorder or guarantee that another retailer will receive stock.
“Event exclusive” or “convention exclusive”
Expect a different buying path from a standard retail preorder. Confirm the named event, booth or authorized channel, dates, region and purchase limits. If the announcement describes only an on-site display or booth sale, do not represent it as an online preorder.
“Available now” or “in stock”
This means the seller presents the product as released inventory. It may be the correct option for an older figure, but it is not evidence that a limited preorder remains open.
“Coming soon,” “notify me” or “join the waitlist”
These labels indicate interest registration or an unreleased page, not a confirmed order. Do not count a notification request as a reservation unless the seller explicitly converts it into an order and provides order terms.
Compare listings on the facts that change your risk
When several pages appear to describe the same figure, compare them side by side. The cheapest-looking result is not necessarily the most dependable if it hides the seller, region or release status.

Official material confirms that multiple One Piece figure makers and lines exist, but it does not establish current stock, seller authorization or a live listing on any particular marketplace. A broad search for “One Piece collectible figures” can help you discover possible retailers; it cannot verify that a specific limited release is available or legitimate.

Understand event releases and limited allocations
Event announcements are valuable because they reveal which properties and product lines a company is highlighting. They are also easy to misread. A display may show an upcoming or newly released figure without offering it for preorder, while an event-exclusive may be sold only from a limited booth allocation.
The 2022 NYCC release is a useful historical example: it described an exhibit containing more than 60 products from Tamashii Nations, Bandai Hobby, MegaHouse and Banpresto, including Figuarts ZERO, Portrait of Pirates and Anime Heroes examples. The release is dated October 3, 2022; those examples should not be presented as figures currently open for preorder.
Adam Newman, SVP Marketing and Business Development at Bandai Namco Toys & Collectibles America, wrote in that October 3, 2022 event release: “This year has been an incredible one for attendees as conventions like New York Comic Con continue to make a return for anime and pop culture fans across America.” The statement is event commentary, not a promise about preorder timing or inventory.

Keep a release worksheet
For each figure, create one record containing the official announcement URL, exact product name, maker, line, edition, region, release estimate and the date you last checked it. Add a column for each retailer’s current status: preorder open, not listed, sold out, in stock or event-only.

Review the maker’s news category and the relevant retailer pages after a reveal, then again when the stated preorder period or release month approaches. Do not assume that every announcement will be followed by a simultaneous global listing. Keep the time zone and region visible in your notes when an event date is involved.
Use only confirmed alerts
If a retailer offers a notification or restock function, treat it as a convenience rather than proof of a reservation. Continue checking the product page because Bandai’s official preorder and Tamashii Nations categories do not establish a universal alert system, notification timing or sellout speed.

Prepare your account without prepaying blindly
Before a known launch window, make sure your shipping address and payment details are current and that you understand the seller’s terms. Do not create duplicate orders merely to improve your odds; duplicate-order cancellation rules vary by retailer and may leave you responsible for more than one allocation.
What to do when a listing disappears or changes
The page changes from preorder to sold out
Save the page status and order confirmation, if you have one. Contact the seller through its published support channel and ask whether existing confirmed orders remain allocated. Do not assume that a sold-out label cancels an order.
The release month moves
Compare the retailer’s update with the maker’s latest announcement. Keep the original estimate in your notes and record the revised one with its date. A changed estimate is different from a canceled order; only the seller can explain what happens to your order.
The retailer removes the product page
Use your order number, confirmation email and saved product identity when contacting support. Avoid replacing the order with a visually similar listing until you have confirmed that it is the same maker, line and edition.
A marketplace has several sellers
Open each seller offer separately. Compare seller identity, condition, preorder status, region, release estimate and cancellation terms. A marketplace search result does not establish that every seller is authorized or that every offer refers to the same edition.
Questions to answer before you pay
- Do the character, costume or form and accessories match the official product announcement?
- Is the maker and figure line explicitly named?
- Is the edition standard, reissue, event-exclusive or otherwise limited?
- Does the page clearly say preorder, and does checkout still accept the order?
- Is a closing date stated, or is the page silent about when orders end?
- What release month or quarter does this seller state, and is it identified as an estimate?
- Does the seller ship to your country or region?
- Who is the seller at checkout, especially when a marketplace hosts multiple offers?
- When is payment taken, and what are the cancellation, refund and allocation terms?
- Do you have an order confirmation that identifies the exact item rather than only “One Piece figure”?
What the current official material does—and does not—establish
The 2026 convention announcements confirm that One Piece remains among the properties featured in Bandai’s event activity and that some event exclusives are offered while supplies last. The official preorder and Tamashii Nations categories provide sensible places to monitor. They do not, by themselves, identify a currently open One Piece preorder, a universal closing date, a guaranteed retailer, a shipping region, a price or a sellout timeframe.

Consequently, the reliable answer to “Where can I preorder One Piece figures?” is not one permanent store or one universal calendar. Find the exact figure through the maker’s announcement, then validate a live product page and its seller-specific terms. That two-source check—official identity plus current retailer status—is the best protection against ordering the wrong edition or missing a limited release while believing you had reserved it.
