You can preorder Grand Theft Auto VI for PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S through the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, Rockstar Store, or a participating retailer that sells the game in your country. The digital versions can preload from local midnight on November 12, 2026, while the boxed Standard Edition is a download code—not a disc—and is expected to ship or be available for pickup from November 12. Rockstar lists November 19, 2026 as the release date.
Tracking depends on where you bought it: use the shipping-confirmation email for a Rockstar Store physical order, the retailer’s own order system for every other retailer, and PlayStation or Xbox support for purchases made in those platform stores. Prices, stock, taxes, delivery promises and preorder promotions below use United States storefront examples checked October 13, 2026; verify the listing and terms for your country before paying.
Where you can preorder GTA 6
Rockstar’s preorder information lists four purchase routes: PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, Rockstar Store and selected third-party retailers. Availability is country-specific. A store may be listed in one market and absent in another because of local policies, regulations, age ratings or retailer coverage. Rockstar says additional countries may be added, so search the official store listing for your country rather than assuming a worldwide launch.
- PlayStation 5 digital: buy through the PlayStation Store account that will play the game.
- Xbox Series X|S digital: buy through the Microsoft/Xbox storefront for the intended account.
- Physical Standard Edition: order a boxed product from Rockstar Store or a participating retailer. The box contains a redeemable download code and no game disc.
- Rockstar Store digital: choose this only where the store offers a digital edition for your country; the platform/account requirements shown at checkout still apply.
The confirmed consoles are PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The official game page gives November 19, 2026 as the launch date.

Check your country and account region first
Codes can fail to activate when the seller’s country does not match the platform account. Rockstar recommends buying from a retailer in the same country as the platform account. Before checkout, check the account region shown in your PlayStation or Microsoft settings and the country selected on the store page.
PlayStation code rules
PlayStation download codes use regional groups. A code sold for one region may not redeem on an account registered in another, even if both accounts use the same language or currency. Confirm the exact country or regional group printed on the listing and redeem it only on the matching account.
Xbox code rules
Rockstar states that Xbox codes are region-unlocked. You should still select the local Xbox listing where possible, because price, tax, age-rating treatment, bonus eligibility and support are tied to the storefront where you buy.

- The code or purchase can be used by your account’s country.
- The confirmation email goes to an address you can access.
- The seller’s cancellation, refund, delivery and pickup terms suit your situation.
Choose Standard or Ultimate
Rockstar lists Standard and Ultimate editions. Both are available digitally. The physical Ultimate Edition is not available, so a boxed order is the Standard Edition.
| Edition | What it includes | Physical availability | Upgrade path |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | The game | Boxed Standard Edition with a download code; no disc | After redeeming the game code, buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade through the PlayStation or Microsoft storefront |
| Ultimate | The game plus the Ultimate Edition Upgrade | Digital only | Upgrade is already included |
What the Ultimate Edition Upgrade adds
The upgrade contains in-game items covering vehicles, weapons, styles, safehouse vehicles, businesses, clothing and the Classic Car Collection. The exact presentation and eligibility can depend on the local storefront terms, so read the edition description attached to your account before confirming the purchase.
Vintage Vice City Pack and GTA+
Rockstar lists the Vintage Vice City Pack with an included vehicle and garage, outfits and hairstyles, and an exclusive weapon pattern. Eligible digital purchases made before November 20, 2026 also include one month of GTA+ under the offer terms shown by the relevant store.
An included month is not automatically a free, non-renewing trial. In the United States PlayStation listing, the month is non-transferable, can be redeemed only on the preorder account, must be redeemed by March 31, 2027, and renews monthly until canceled. The United States Xbox listing says redemption must occur within 180 days after preorder and that some restricted child accounts cannot redeem it. Local deadlines and restrictions may differ. Read the current offer and cancel recurring billing in your platform account if you do not want a paid month afterward.

Digital versus boxed preorder
Digital purchase
A digital purchase is tied to the platform account that buys it. Rockstar’s platform guide says digital preloads begin at local midnight on November 12, 2026. You can therefore download the game before launch, but access remains governed by the platform’s release-time rules; the November 19 release date is when the game launches.
Boxed Standard Edition
The physical package is a box containing a download code. There is no disc to insert, and you need an internet connection and enough console storage to download the game. Rockstar expects retailer shipping or pickup to begin November 12, 2026. When the code is delivered, redeem it on the matching platform account; the guide says redeemed codes can support preload from that date.
A boxed code is useful if you want a retailer pickup or a physical package, but it adds dispatch, carrier and retailer-stock variables. A digital order avoids delivery but cannot be transferred between platform accounts.
US price examples and what they mean
The following were displayed by United States storefronts on October 13, 2026. They are not worldwide prices and may change before launch or differ after tax.
Recommended Free Tools
| US storefront example | Standard | Ultimate | Qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| PlayStation Store | $79.99 | $99.99 | Storefront listing observed October 13, 2026 |
| Xbox Store | $79.99+ | $99.99+ | Displayed as “$79.99+” and “$99.99+”; storefront listing observed October 13, 2026 |
Use your local currency and checkout total. The displayed amount may exclude tax, delivery or other local charges. Compare the complete total and the seller’s refund policy, not just the headline price.
Compare a retailer before you place the order
The cheapest headline price is not always the best preorder. Compare the platform and account compatibility first, then the edition, format and support route. A participating retailer may sell a boxed Standard Edition, but that box is still a download code and may have a different delivery or pickup date from a digital storefront. A retailer’s stock, dispatch estimate and cancellation policy are separate from Rockstar’s game release date.
- Digital convenience: the license appears on the buying account, and the platform can offer preload without waiting for a carrier.
- Boxed-code flexibility: you can choose shipping or store pickup, but availability depends on retailer inventory and the code still has to be redeemed on the correct platform account.
- Ultimate value: compare the local price difference with the listed upgrade items. There is no physical Ultimate Edition.
- Promotion value: verify whether the Vintage Vice City Pack and one-month GTA+ offer appears on the local listing, who may redeem it and when it expires.
- Support: the business that took payment is normally the first stop for a refund, cancellation, delivery or missing-code question.
Save a screenshot or PDF of the listing, price, edition, promotion wording and estimated delivery shown at checkout. This gives you a record if the listing changes later and helps the correct support team identify the transaction.

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)

Step-by-step: preorder from PlayStation Store
- Open the PlayStation Store on your PS5 or in the web store for your account’s country.
- Search for the official Grand Theft Auto VI listing and confirm that the platform is PS5.
- Select Standard or Ultimate and check whether the listing is digital, its local price and the promotion terms.
- Review the account region, payment method and the email that receives the receipt.
- Complete checkout and keep the receipt or order number.
- On or after local midnight November 12, check the game library for the preload option. The platform controls the exact download prompt and release lock.
For a payment, entitlement or download problem with this purchase, use PlayStation Support. Rockstar’s purchase FAQ directs PlayStation Store customers to the platform rather than to Rockstar Store order support.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsStep-by-step: preorder from Xbox Store
- Open the Xbox/Microsoft Store for the account’s country.
- Confirm the listing is for Xbox Series X|S and select Standard or Ultimate.
- Read the local price, promotion, GTA+ redemption deadline and any account restrictions.
- Check the Microsoft account that will own the license and verify the receipt email.
- Finish checkout and save the order confirmation.
- Look for the preload in your Xbox library from the date and time shown by the storefront; Rockstar’s guide identifies November 12 as the digital preload start.
Contact Xbox Support for storefront billing, entitlement or download issues. A platform-store order does not use the Rockstar Store shipping-email workflow.
Step-by-step: preorder a physical copy from Rockstar Store
- Open the Rockstar Store listing available for your country and select the boxed Standard Edition.
- Confirm that the description says download code and does not promise a disc or a physical Ultimate Edition.
- Enter a delivery address and select a shipping option. The checkout option determines the estimated transit time.
- Save the order number and the email address used at checkout.
- When Rockstar dispatches the order, wait for the shipping-confirmation email.
- Open the tracking link in that email. If your order contains multiple items, inspect every tracking number because Rockstar may send the items in separate boxes.
- When the box arrives, redeem the enclosed code on the matching PS5 or Xbox account. Rockstar expects retailer shipping or pickup to start November 12.
Tracking becomes available when the order ships. An order that has not dispatched may show no carrier scan yet; use the order details or contact Rockstar Store support rather than assuming the package is lost.
How to track a preorder from another retailer
Rockstar does not provide a universal tracking page for independent retailers. Use the seller’s own systems:
- Open the retailer’s order-history page and sign in with the account used to buy.
- Search the receipt or dispatch email for an order number and carrier link.
- Check the retailer’s help center for pickup status, address changes, cancellation and refund rules.
- If no dispatch notice appears by the seller’s stated shipping window, contact that retailer directly with the order number.
The retailer—not Rockstar—handles purchase, refund and delivery questions for a non-Rockstar order. This applies whether the item is shipped to you or reserved for store pickup.
Quick wins for a faster PC:

Store the order number, receipt email, account email, edition, platform, country storefront and any carrier tracking number together. Do not post a full download code publicly. If a retailer asks for proof, provide the order information through its official help channel. For a platform purchase, the platform support team can use the account and transaction record; for a physical order, the seller can use the order number and dispatch record.
If you change address after ordering, use the seller’s published address-change process before dispatch. Do not assume a platform-store digital license can be moved to another account or country. If you ordered from a third-party retailer, keep that retailer’s cancellation and refund terms, because Rockstar does not control that transaction.

What to do when an order is late or the code will not work
No shipping email
For a Rockstar Store order, the tracking email is sent when the order ships. Check spam and the address used at checkout, then review the order page. If the seller has not dispatched it, there may be no carrier tracking event yet. For another retailer, ask that retailer for the dispatch status.
Tracking says delivered but you cannot find the box
Check the carrier’s delivery photograph or location, household members, building reception and pickup desk. Contact the seller with the tracking number if the package remains missing; the seller can open the delivery investigation.
Code reports a region or account error
Stop trying random accounts. Confirm the code’s country, the platform account’s region and the product platform. PlayStation codes follow regional groups; Xbox codes are described as region-unlocked. Ask the seller to correct a mistaken-region purchase before redeeming it, because redeemed codes are generally tied to the account that used them.
The listing is for the wrong edition or format
Compare the receipt with the listing: Standard versus Ultimate, digital license versus boxed code, and PS5 versus Xbox Series X|S. Request a cancellation or refund from the store that took payment. Rockstar Store support handles Rockstar Store transactions; PlayStation or Xbox support handles those platform purchases; another retailer handles its own order.
The GTA+ month is unavailable
Check that the purchase qualifies as a digital preorder, that you are using the preorder account, and that the local redemption deadline has not passed. US listings impose different rules: PlayStation specifies redemption by March 31, 2027, while Xbox specifies redemption within 180 days and excludes some restricted child accounts. Your country’s terms control your offer.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.A quick decision checklist
- Choose digital if immediate account delivery and preload matter more than a package or pickup.
- Choose boxed Standard if you want retailer shipping or pickup and accept that the box contains only a download code.
- Choose Ultimate if the listed upgrade items justify the higher local price; buy it digitally because Rockstar says a physical Ultimate Edition is unavailable.
- Match the country of the retailer and platform account, especially for PlayStation codes.
- Record the order number and confirmation email before closing checkout.
- Read the GTA+ terms and cancel recurring billing if you do not want automatic renewal after the included month.
- Use the correct support desk: Rockstar Store for Rockstar Store orders, the retailer for other physical orders, and PlayStation or Xbox support for platform-store purchases.
Release and preload timeline

Is the physical GTA 6 copy a disc?
No. The boxed Standard Edition contains a download code, not a game disc. You redeem the code on the matching PS5 or Xbox account and download the game.
How do I track a Rockstar Store physical preorder?
Rockstar sends a shipping-confirmation email when the order dispatches. Open its tracking link, and check each tracking number if items are shipped in separate boxes.
How do I track an order from another retailer?
Use that retailer’s order-history page, dispatch email and help center. Contact the retailer directly about delivery, pickup, refunds or cancellations; Rockstar does not provide a universal third-party tracking page.
Who handles a PlayStation Store or Xbox Store purchase problem?
Contact PlayStation Support for PlayStation Store purchases and Xbox Support for Microsoft/Xbox Store purchases. Those orders do not use Rockstar Store shipping support.
Can I redeem a code bought in another country?
Rockstar recommends buying from a retailer in the platform account’s country. PlayStation codes follow regional groups; Xbox codes are described as region-unlocked. Check the local terms before redeeming.
When can GTA 6 preload begin?
Rockstar’s guide says digital preloads begin at local midnight on November 12, 2026. Redeemed physical download codes can also support preload from that date, while the official launch date is November 19.
Does the included GTA+ month renew automatically?
The included month may renew as a paid subscription unless canceled. US PlayStation terms say it renews monthly and must be redeemed by March 31, 2027; US Xbox terms require redemption within 180 days and restrict some child accounts. Check and manage the local offer terms.

The Bottom Line
Buy from the local PlayStation, Xbox, Rockstar or participating retailer listing that matches your console and account region. Choose digital for account delivery and preload, or boxed Standard for shipping or pickup while remembering it contains only a code. Track Rockstar Store shipments from the dispatch email, use another retailer’s own tracking tools for its orders, and contact PlayStation or Xbox support for platform-store purchases.
