GTA 6 launches in Australia on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. You can pre-order a digital Standard or Ultimate edition from the Australian console stores, or buy a retailer box containing a single-use download code. As checked on 13 October 2026, Standard is listed at AU$129.95 and Ultimate at AU$159.95 on the Australian PlayStation Store; Xbox lists AU$129.95+ and AU$159.95+. EB Games lists a PS5 preorder at AU$129.95, while JB Hi-Fi lists PS5 and Xbox Series X|S code-in-box versions. Prices, stock, delivery and promotion terms can change, so verify the exact platform, edition and checkout total before paying.
What you can pre-order in Australia
Australian players have two official digital choices—Standard and Ultimate—and retailer listings for boxed Standard download codes. The launch platforms identified by Rockstar and Take-Two are PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The cited launch information does not announce a PC version, and the PlayStation listing says the game is not playable on PS4.
A retail “physical” edition is not a disc product. Rockstar states, “A disc will not be included in the box.” The package contains a code that downloads the game through the matching console store. You need an internet connection, and the code is intended for one account only.
Release, preload and the dates that matter
| Event | Date or timing | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Digital preload | Local midnight, 12 November 2026 | Digital pre-orders can begin downloading at midnight in the console account’s local region, according to Rockstar support. |
| Expected boxed-code availability | 12 November 2026 | Rockstar expects boxed codes to ship or become available for collection from this date, allowing time to download before launch. |
| Playable launch | 19 November 2026 | Rockstar and Take-Two list this as the release date. A code received earlier does not make the game playable before the launch unlock. |
| Vintage Vice City Pack cutoff | Before 20 November 2026 | Rockstar says digital purchases or pre-orders of either edition made before this date qualify for the pack, subject to the offer terms shown at purchase. |
Download size and the required free storage space are not stated on the cited pages. Check the console store listing and your console’s available storage before starting the preload.

Compare the Standard and Ultimate editions
Both editions are available digitally through the Australian PlayStation and Xbox stores. Standard is the lower-cost entry point; Ultimate includes additional story-world content described by Take-Two and can be upgraded later through the platform store.
| Edition | Australian PlayStation listing checked 13 October 2026 | Australian Xbox listing checked 13 October 2026 | What is established |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | AU$129.95 | AU$129.95+ | Base game edition for PS5 or Xbox Series X|S. Standard can be upgraded through the console store. |
| Ultimate | AU$159.95 | AU$159.95+ | Includes the Ultimate Edition content described by the official listing and Take-Two; the Australian pages also show the Vintage Vice City Pack and one month of GTA+ in their preorder details. |
The plus sign in the Xbox figures is reproduced from the Australian Xbox page; use the live checkout total rather than assuming the displayed figure includes every applicable charge. Neither set of prices is a guaranteed future price.
What Ultimate adds
Take-Two describes Ultimate as an exclusive collection of vehicles, weapons, apparel and action connected with Jason and Lucia’s story. The cited material does not provide a separate item-by-item Australian price for those additions. Compare the current Ultimate description with the Standard listing before deciding whether the AU$30 PlayStation difference (or the live Xbox difference) is worthwhile to you.
Can you buy Standard and upgrade later?
Rockstar support says Standard buyers can purchase the Ultimate Edition Upgrade through the PlayStation or Microsoft store at any point. The cited support material does not establish a physical Ultimate package. A boxed Standard buyer can redeem the code and then buy the upgrade digitally. Check the live upgrade price and its included content; do not assume that buying Standard first will cost exactly the same as buying Ultimate at preorder.

Australian digital storefront options
PlayStation Store Australia
The Australian PlayStation page lists Standard at AU$129.95 and Ultimate at AU$159.95. Its preorder details show the Vintage Vice City Pack, a one-month GTA+ offer and a seven-day preload. The GTA+ trial has redemption instructions, a deadline and auto-renewal language on the page. If you do not want a continuing membership, review the renewal terms and cancel before the trial converts; verify the current renewal price at checkout.
Xbox Store Australia
The Australian Xbox page lists Standard at AU$129.95+ and Ultimate at AU$159.95+. It identifies the game for Xbox Series X|S and shows the Vintage Vice City Pack and GTA+ trial information in the offer details. The page says the trial must be redeemed within 180 days after preorder and notes an age-restricted-account limitation. Read the current redemption and renewal conditions attached to your account before confirming.
How to place a digital preorder
- Open the store associated with your console account: PlayStation Store on PS5 or the Xbox Store on Xbox Series X|S.
- Search for GTA 6 and confirm that the listing says PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S. Do not select a PS4 listing or an unrelated add-on.
- Compare Standard and Ultimate, including the live Australian price, included content and any GTA+ wording.
- Review the account region, payment total, preorder date, bonus eligibility and subscription renewal terms shown on the final screen.
- Complete payment. Keep the order confirmation in case you need to check the edition, platform or bonus entitlement later.
- On 12 November, look for the preload option in your library. The game may download before 19 November but remains locked until launch.
Retailer routes: EB Games and JB Hi-Fi
Retailer stock and delivery commitments are separate from the digital storefronts. The following figures and descriptions are snapshots, not a guarantee that a listing will remain available.

| Retailer | Listing information | Checks to make before ordering |
|---|---|---|
| EB Games Australia | The cited PS5 page lists a preorder at AU$129.95, a 19 November date, delivery availability and a local-store pickup lookup. It describes a code-only box and requires an Australian PlayStation account. | Confirm that the listing is the PS5 version, check the selected store, delivery charge and estimated arrival, and make sure your account is registered to Australia. |
| JB Hi-Fi | Lists PS5 and Xbox Series X|S download-code-in-box editions. The page says the box contains no disc, the code is single-use, internet is required and the preorder bonus is the Vintage Vice City Pack. | Check the live platform listing, price, delivery or collection method, code region and the exact bonus wording. Do not assume a boxed preorder includes the digital GTA+ trial. |
The cited pages do not establish a complete survey of Australian sellers or identify a universally cheapest route. A fair comparison must use the same platform and edition at the same time and include delivery or collection costs. A lower shelf price can disappear once shipping is added, while a digital order may cost more but provide immediate library access and the published preload window.

How a boxed-code preorder works
- Select the PS5 or Xbox Series X|S listing that matches your console.
- At checkout, verify whether you are choosing delivery or store collection and note the retailer’s stated dispatch or collection date.
- Confirm that your platform account is registered in Australia and that the code’s platform matches it.
- When the box arrives or is collected, open it and redeem the one-time code through the console store. The retailer’s package does not provide a disc.
- Allow the game to download over the internet. Receiving the box on 12 November does not change the 19 November playable launch date.
EB Games says delivery starts on 12 November while its product page still lists 19 November as the playable date. Actual arrival depends on the retailer’s fulfilment and your location, so do not plan on launch-day play based solely on a dispatch date.
Pre-order bonuses and subscription conditions
Vintage Vice City Pack
Rockstar says digital preorders and digital purchases of either edition made before 20 November 2026 include the Vintage Vice City Pack. The listed contents are a ’55 Vapid Stanier Sedan and garage, outfits and hairstyles, and an exclusive weapon pattern. Take-Two describes the same cutoff and pack in its announcement.
Retailer pages identify the pack with their code-in-box preorders. Because the cited retailer wording does not promise the digital GTA+ trial for boxed copies, treat the pack and the trial as separate entitlements and rely on the current retailer terms.

Rockstar identifies one month of GTA+ for digital preorders. The Australian PlayStation page includes redemption instructions, a deadline and auto-renewal terms. The Xbox offer states that its trial must be redeemed within 180 days after preorder and includes an age-restricted-account limitation. These conditions can differ by storefront; read the offer attached to your order and cancel renewal if you do not want a paid membership afterward.

Digital download or boxed code: which route fits?
| Consideration | Digital preorder | Boxed download code |
|---|---|---|
| How you receive the game | Added directly to the PlayStation or Xbox library. | Retail box containing a single-use download code; no disc. |
| Preload | Rockstar says preload starts at local midnight on 12 November. | Code must be received and redeemed first; Rockstar expects boxes from 12 November. |
| Internet requirement | Required to download the digital game. | Required to redeem the code and download the game. |
| Bonuses | Store pages show the Vintage Vice City Pack and GTA+ terms for eligible digital orders. | Retailer pages identify the Vintage Vice City Pack; do not infer GTA+ eligibility without explicit wording. |
| Account and region | Automatically tied to the purchasing platform account. | Must be redeemed on the compatible platform account; region compatibility is critical. |
| Physical keepsake | No retail package. | A box is supplied, but it does not contain a playable disc. |
Choose digital if early downloading and a direct library entitlement matter most. Choose the boxed code if you want a retail package, store collection or a retailer’s payment and delivery options, while accepting the extra fulfilment step and the same large download requirement.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Account-region and platform checks
Rockstar’s country list includes Australia for PlayStation Store, Xbox Store and Rockstar Store availability. It recommends buying from a retailer in the same country as the platform account because redemption follows the account’s region. EB Games specifically describes its PS5 version as intended for accounts registered to Australia.
PlayStation codes are grouped by region, so an Australian PS5 account should use an Australian-compatible code. Rockstar says Xbox codes are not region-locked, but buying from an Australian retailer still reduces the chance of a mismatch involving local pricing, support or offer terms. Do not use a code bought for another country merely because the console hardware is the same.

Before you pay, check these six items
- Console: PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, not PS4.
- Edition: Standard or Ultimate, including any later-upgrade plan.
- Format: direct digital purchase or boxed download code.
- Account: Australian platform account and compatible code region.
- Bonuses: Vintage Vice City Pack eligibility and the separate GTA+ redemption and renewal conditions.
- Fulfilment: final price, delivery or pickup method, and when the code will actually reach you.
What to do if something goes wrong
The code will not redeem
First check the platform and region printed on the box or order confirmation. A PS5 code cannot be used in an Xbox account, and a PlayStation code intended for another region may fail on an Australian account. If the code is correct, confirm that it has not already been redeemed and contact the retailer with your receipt rather than repeatedly entering it.

The game is missing from your library
For a digital order, sign in to the account that placed the purchase and check the transaction history and library. For a boxed order, the game is not added until the code is redeemed. A code received before 19 November can download data but cannot bypass the launch lock.
The GTA+ trial is not visible
Check whether your order was digital or boxed, which store processed it and whether the offer’s redemption deadline has passed. PlayStation and Xbox publish different trial conditions, and retailer pages cited here do not guarantee the digital trial for boxed copies.
The delivery has not arrived
Use the retailer’s order-status page and distinguish dispatch from arrival. Rockstar expects boxed-code availability from 12 November, but courier timing varies. If the order is still unfulfilled near launch, ask the retailer whether collection is possible or whether the code can be replaced; do not buy a second copy until you understand the first order’s refund status.
