How to pre-order the digital PS5 version

The PlayStation listing describes expansion and car-pack content as becoming available as it is released. Buying Premium does not mean every future expansion is playable immediately on pre-order day. Which edition should you choose?
Standard: the uncomplicated full-game purchase
Standard is the sensible choice if you want the complete base game and do not need bundled add-ons or earlier access. Choose it when you would rather decide about extra content later than pay for a bundle now.

Premium is the option for buyers who place a value on starting five days early and on receiving the largest announced set of extras. In addition to the Welcome Pack and Car Pass, it includes VIP Membership and Expansions 1 and 2, with the publisher also identifying the Time Attack and Italian Passion car packs. The right choice depends on whether those inclusions justify the live Premium price for you; the available evidence does not establish an objectively best-value edition.

Premium can therefore appeal to two different types of buyer: someone who wants to play on January 21, and someone who already expects to want the announced add-on bundle. If neither early access nor those extras matters, paying for Premium offers no stated change to the regular January 26 launch for Standard and Deluxe owners.

The US PlayStation Store terms add three important conditions:
- You must purchase the full game or the Premium Upgrade before January 26, 2027.
- The offer is limited to one bonus per person or account.
- The car is added after you start the game and complete the prologue; it is not necessarily visible in your garage immediately after placing the pre-order.
The wording covers any edition that qualifies as the full game, and it also specifically names the Premium Upgrade. Do not confuse the existence of an upgrade listing with a guarantee that every upgrade combination has identical access timing; check the product page for the account and entitlement you are buying.
If the Ferrari does not appear, first confirm that the purchase was made before the stated deadline, that the account you are using is the eligible purchasing account, and that the prologue is complete. Yes. Playground Games confirms that a PS5 disc edition will be available through supporting retailers. The announcement does not name those retailers, provide stock levels or identify a specific boxed-edition SKU.
That means physical availability is confirmed in general, but retailer-level details remain separate questions. Before ordering a disc, check that the listing is for the PS5 version, shows the edition you intend to buy, states its delivery or collection date, and clearly identifies whether the Ferrari J50 promotion applies. Retailer inventory, price, shipping and local promotional terms were not established by the publisher’s announcement.

Taxes, currency conversion and local consumer rules can affect the amount shown at checkout. A price copied from another country’s store is not a reliable substitute for the US listing. Likewise, a retailer’s disc price cannot be used to calculate the value of a digital edition because shipping, stock and retailer promotions are separate variables.

Cross-platform play, saves and shared creations
Playground Games says the PS5 version supports cross-platform play and cross-save with Xbox and Steam. It also says user-generated content is cross-platform, including EventLab races, Prefabs and Estates, Liveries, and Tuning Setups.
These features matter when choosing a PS5 edition because the edition determines the included content and access window, not whether the PS5 player is isolated from the wider Forza Horizon community. Cross-save is also relevant if you already play on Xbox or Steam and want progress to carry across supported platforms. The publisher’s statement confirms support, but it does not specify every account-linking screen or exception, so follow the account prompts shown in the game.
