Yes, you can play Aniimo solo, but not offline. The PlayStation Store listing says the game supports solo play and requires an internet connection. What solo play means in Aniimo
Aniimo is an open-world creature-catching RPG set on Idyll. Its core loop is to explore, catch creatures using Aniipods and traps, then Twine with collected Aniimo to use their abilities in battles, puzzles, and exploration. Those activities provide the basic solo experience, though the official descriptions do not confirm that every activity can be completed alone.
The PlayStation Store description says players can be solo or multiplayer. It describes players as “solo, multiplayer, adventuring, battling, or simply looking to quickly become stronger,” but does not explain a separate solo mode or identify which specific activities require a group.

- Connect to the internet. The PlayStation Store listing requires online play, even if you intend to play by yourself.
- Launch Aniimo and progress without forming a party. The official sources consulted do not identify a solo toggle or a specific menu path, so there is no verified setup switch to enable.
- Explore Idyll and follow the creature-catching loop. Catch Aniimo, Twine with them, and use their abilities to explore, solve puzzles, and battle.
- Check an activity’s description before joining. The official material does not provide a complete list of activities that can be done solo or those requiring other players.
Solo play versus Egg Heist
Egg Heist is described on the PlayStation Store as a PvEvP activity in the Lost Isles for three-player teams. The listing does not say whether you can queue alone or whether the game fills the other team slots automatically. That uncertainty applies to this activity; it does not negate the listing’s confirmation that Aniimo supports solo play generally.

Aniimo’s publisher listed Windows PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox for its PC and console rollout in a notice dated September 14, 2026. The publisher’s FAQ says progress is shared across platforms within the same server, while data on different servers is independent. The official website’s current news index also includes an announcement that Aniimo is live on mobile, but the available material here does not specify mobile rollout details.
- PC storage: The publisher recommends reserving 40 GB for the extracted PC client and installing it on an SSD.
- Input: A controller is optional. Xbox Wire says the controls were optimized for gamepads; check compatibility for your platform.
- Cost: The PlayStation Store lists the game as free-to-play with optional in-game purchases. The listing does not indicate that a purchase is needed for solo play.
