Phantom Blade Zero is scheduled to launch on 29 October 2026, with the date shown as 28 October in the US and select regions and on Steam. The announced platforms are PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. It is a single-player wuxia action RPG built around exploration and weapon-based combat; check your local store for the exact date, unlock time, price, and availability.
When does Phantom Blade Zero come out?
As of 9 October 2026, S-GAME lists 29 October 2026 as the release date. PlayStation’s August 2026 announcement gives 29 October, noting in a footnote that the date is 28 October in the US and select regions. Steam also lists 28 October 2026. This is a regional date difference, so use the date and unlock time shown by your local platform storefront.

The game was previously scheduled for 9 September 2026. In a letter dated 2 June 2026, S-GAME CEO and creator Soulframe said the additional time would go toward specific improvements, including updated character models and reworked environments. He wrote: “A 50-day delay cannot solve everything. But it does give us enough time to complete a number of clearly defined and genuinely important improvements.” That is the developer’s explanation for the change, not an independent assessment of the final game.

The official listings establish two platforms: PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. The sources cited here do not confirm an Xbox release or a date for any other console, so there is no basis to treat an additional platform as announced.

- PS5: Available through PlayStation’s store listing. PlayStation lists DualSense adaptive triggers and haptic feedback, as well as Tempest 3D AudioTech. The controller features are supported options, not a requirement to play.
- PC: The confirmed PC storefront is Steam. Steam identifies the game as single-player and lists Denuvo third-party DRM. The official material covered here does not provide usable minimum or recommended PC specifications, so check the Steam listing for requirements before buying or installing.
What should you expect from the story and combat?
A wuxia story with a ticking clock
PlayStation describes Phantom Blade Zero as a dark wuxia action RPG. You play as Soul, a swordsman with sixty-six days left to live who has been framed for killing his master. While pursued, he investigates a conspiracy in the Wulin, a martial world S-GAME describes as shaped by conflict and intrigue.
Exploration and weapon-based fighting
S-GAME says exploration can uncover secrets, and side quests and conversations with citizens can open story paths. Combat centers on a broad arsenal of weapons and secondary arms. In its 17 August 2026 PlayStation Blog deep dive, S-GAME said players can unlock more than 30 main weapons and 25 Phantom Edges, upgrade weapons, and reforge them to reclaim materials. These are developer-provided figures, not independently verified counts.

The game uses Unreal Engine 5 and combines wuxia, fantasy, and horror elements in a style S-GAME calls “kungfupunk.” Those are the developer’s descriptions; they do not establish performance or quality on a particular system.

The US PlayStation listing also describes pre-order early unlocks for the Treasure Basin accessory and Legacy appearance, and says those items can also be earned through in-game progression. Check the local store listing for the current offer and terms. Steam’s listing identifies the PC version as single-player; consult the store page for its current price and purchase details.
