How to verify a real PS5 release
- Open Landfall’s official FAQ and look for a console announcement or release details.
- Check Landfall’s official PEAK page for a PlayStation platform listing, supported features and an updated release notice.
- Search the PlayStation Store for the exact game title and confirm that the product page identifies PS5, not just a PC edition or a video.
- Read the product page’s platform, edition and online-play information before buying. A mention of controller support on a PC storefront is not a PS5 listing.
- After installation, confirm that the game appears in your PS5 library as a PS5-compatible product and that its own settings identify the supported online features.
If those checks do not show an official PS5 product, you cannot legitimately download PEAK on PS5 yet. Avoid unofficial button maps, download links or claims that a PC listing automatically grants a console copy.
What kind of game is PEAK?
Landfall describes PEAK as a cooperative climb through a dangerous, changing mountain. Aggro Crab calls it a co-op survival climbing game in its developer games listing. The objective is not simply to move upward: your group has to preserve stamina, share routes and recover from mistakes while the environment and supplies change.

Players can help one another reach ledges, create safer routes with ropes and use climbing spikes where the terrain demands them. That makes communication and positioning important. A scout who reaches a ledge first can assist someone below, while a badly chosen route can leave a teammate without enough stamina to continue.

Food is scavenged during the climb, but the game presents it as questionable rather than automatically safe. Injuries matter because they reduce stamina, shrinking the margin for later climbs. The practical rhythm is to explore for supplies, decide whether a route is worth its risk, and keep enough stamina for the next obstacle rather than spending everything on a single ascent.
Biomes and changing routes
Landfall’s game page lists four biomes and says the map rotates every 24 hours. A route that was familiar on one day can therefore present a different sequence of terrain or resource decisions later. Those are game-design features documented for PEAK; they are not evidence that a PS5 edition has already shipped.

What are the PEAK PS5 controls?
No PS5-specific control map is established by the cited official information. The Steam listing says the PC version supports PlayStation controllers, but that only tells you a PlayStation-style controller can be used with the PC release. It does not establish which DualSense button performs an action on PS5, whether touch-pad or motion functions are used, or whether the console layout will match PC bindings.

The Steam listing describes PC multiplayer as friends-only. A player can invite up to three other scouts, creating a group of four players in total. This is a private-group model rather than a claim that the PC version offers open public matchmaking.
Playing with a group
- Use the PC version’s friend-invite flow to create or join a session.
- Invite no more than three other scouts, as described by the Steam listing.
- Agree on a route and supplies before separating. Ropes, ledge assists and climbing spikes are most useful when the group communicates about who is leading and who needs help.
- Keep the party together when injuries or low stamina make a solo section unsafe. A teammate who spends all of their stamina may be unable to recover from the next obstacle.
The exact menu names, invitation method and party interface for a future PS5 release are not documented in the cited material. Do not assume that a PS5 menu will copy the PC interface exactly.
Can you play alone?

Will PS5 players be able to play with PC players?
Landfall’s FAQ gives a clear intended direction: "PEAK is going to be cross-platform, meaning that anyone who picks up the game on console will be able to play with the existing Steam community, as well as any other console platforms." The same FAQ frames console support as work in progress. This means cross-play is a stated plan, not confirmation of a live PS5 feature.

The following checklist avoids guessing at menus that have not been published. It is a practical sequence to use after an official PS5 listing appears.
- Confirm the platform listing. Make sure the PlayStation Store page explicitly names PS5 and identifies the correct edition.
- Check the online requirements. Read the listing and Landfall’s current FAQ for any account, network or subscription requirements stated for console play.
- Install the latest update. Console cross-play can depend on matching game versions, so update before inviting PC or other-console friends.
- Open the game’s own settings. Use the installed Controls, Accessibility and Online sections for the authoritative DualSense layout and available options.
- Test a private session first. Invite one friend, verify that both players can join, and confirm that the party is using the same game version before assembling a full group.
- Check cross-play controls. If the console build provides a cross-play switch or account-linking step, follow the wording shown in that build rather than a PC guide.
- Begin with a low-risk climb. Use the first session to learn stamina, ledge assists, ropes, climbing spikes, food and injury effects before attempting an unfamiliar route.

Manage stamina before the next obstacle
Injuries reduce stamina, and stamina determines how much climbing your scout can attempt safely. Treat the remaining stamina bar as a route-planning resource: pause before a difficult ledge, let the group know when you are low, and avoid committing to a long ascent immediately after taking damage.
Use team assistance deliberately
Helping someone onto a ledge is more than a convenience. It can prevent a teammate from spending the stamina needed for the next section. Assign a lead scout to inspect the route while another player stays close enough to assist, rather than having everyone climb separately and discover too late that a teammate cannot follow.

Place ropes and spikes where they reduce future risk
Ropes and climbing spikes create options for the group. Use them to make a difficult transition repeatable or to provide a recovery route after a mistake. Because the mountain changes and supplies are not unlimited, place equipment at decisions that would otherwise force a low-stamina player into a dangerous improvisation.
Scavenge food without ignoring the route
Food is part of the survival loop, but the game presents some finds as questionable. Balance a supply detour against the terrain and the group’s condition. A detour that causes an injury or separates the party can cost more than the item provides.
Expect the map to change
Landfall says the map rotates every 24 hours. Learn the game’s movement and cooperation systems rather than memorizing one permanent route. On a later rotation, the same four-biome structure may require different decisions about where to spend stamina, when to use equipment and how long to search for food.

The Steam listing is for the PC version. Its PlayStation-controller support is useful to PC players with a compatible controller, but it does not prove that a PS5 build exists or that its buttons will match.
Mistake: publishing a guessed DualSense layout
Without an official PS5 control map, a button-by-button list is speculation. The correct advice is to wait for the console build’s Controls screen or a developer-published guide.

Mistake: reading planned cross-play as a launch guarantee
Landfall’s FAQ says the console version is intended to connect to Steam and other consoles. It does not provide a launch date, final platform list or operational matchmaking details. Keep those claims separate.
Mistake: assuming PC multiplayer limits describe every future console rule
Friends-only sessions and invitations for up to three other scouts are documented for the Steam listing. A console edition may use the same structure, but its interface and service requirements are not established until Landfall documents them.
Mistake: assuming offline solo behavior is identical on every platform
Offline single-player is listed for the game. The available information does not promise that a future PS5 edition will reproduce every offline behavior exactly, so verify the console edition’s feature description.
