Yes—on iPhone and iPad, Absolum’s App Store listing explicitly says it is “Compatible with MFi controllers.” Pair a compatible Bluetooth gamepad in iOS or iPadOS Settings before opening the game, then test movement, dodge or jump, attacks, and menus.
Android pairing follows the same Bluetooth process, but official Android material currently documents the phone requirements without confirming native controller support. An Android gamepad may work, yet you should verify input in your installed build before starting a serious run.
Controller support at a glance
| Platform | Phone or tablet requirement | Controller evidence | Practical expectation |
|---|---|---|---|
| iPhone and iPad | iOS or iPadOS 16 or later and an A12 Bionic chip or later | The App Store listing states: “Compatible with MFi controllers.” | Use an MFi-compatible Bluetooth controller. Pair it in Apple’s Bluetooth settings before launching Absolum. |
| Android phones and tablets | Android 9 or later, more than 3 GB of RAM, and none of the excluded low-end GPU families listed by Playdigious | Playdigious’ Android requirements do not state native Bluetooth-controller support or tested Bluetooth profiles. | Pair a standard Bluetooth mobile controller, launch the game, and test every important input. Treat recognition as build-dependent until Playdigious publishes explicit Android guidance. |
Playdigious has announced mobile availability for November 5, 2026. Android registration and an iOS pre-order were available when the support information was checked, so menus, compatibility notes, and controller behavior can still change before or after release.
Check your device before setting up a controller
Android requirements
Playdigious lists three important Android conditions: Android 9 or newer, more than 3 GB of RAM, and a GPU outside the low-end families it excludes. “More than 3 GB” means a phone with exactly 3 GB does not meet the published requirement; look for at least 4 GB. The GPU exclusion matters even when the operating system and memory appear sufficient, so check your exact model against Playdigious’ current compatibility list rather than relying only on its Android version.

iPhone and iPad requirements
The Apple listing requires iOS or iPadOS 16 or newer and an A12 Bionic chip or later. The chip requirement is separate from the operating-system requirement: an older iPhone that can install a recent iOS release may still be unsupported if it does not have an A12-class chip or newer. iPad models must likewise meet both conditions.
Install the game separately on mobile
Owning Absolum on PC or console does not make the mobile edition free. Playdigious says the mobile version must be purchased separately through Google Play or the App Store. Plan for a mobile purchase even if you already own another edition.
What “Bluetooth controller support” means here
iPhone and iPad: the supported path
“Compatible with MFi controllers” means the iOS and iPadOS listing advertises support for Apple’s Made for iPhone/iPad controller standard. Use a gamepad whose specifications identify MFi compatibility, then pair it through the operating system. The game should receive the controller’s standard directional, face-button, shoulder, and menu inputs once the connection is active, although the exact on-screen prompts and any remapping controls depend on the mobile build.

Android: possible, but not yet a published guarantee
Android phones can pair with Bluetooth gamepads at the system level, and a mobile-gamepad manual documents pairing with both Android phones/tablets and iPhone/iPad. That establishes a pairing procedure, not a promise that every Android build of Absolum will read every controller. The Android support information from Playdigious specifies operating-system, memory, and GPU requirements but does not identify native controller support, tested controller families, Bluetooth profiles, button layouts, or remapping behavior.
Therefore, do not treat a controller’s ability to connect to Android as proof that Absolum will accept its inputs. Test the game itself after pairing. If movement works but attacks, shoulder buttons, or menus do not, the issue may be game-side support or an input-mode mismatch rather than a failed Bluetooth connection.

| Selection factor | What to verify | Why it matters for Absolum |
|---|---|---|
| iOS certification | Product documentation explicitly says MFi-compatible | MFi compatibility is the controller support statement published for iPhone and iPad. |
| Android input mode | Documentation identifies Android phone/tablet Bluetooth use and the controller’s operating mode | Android can expose different button mappings depending on the controller mode; the game may recognize one mode and ignore another. |
| Pairing reliability | Clear pairing instructions, a visible connected state, and the ability to forget and reconnect the device | A stable system connection makes it easier to distinguish Bluetooth problems from game-recognition problems. |
| Phone mount and ergonomics | Mount size and weight support your phone, with buttons reachable without covering speakers or ports | Long action-game sessions are more comfortable when the screen is balanced and controls remain accessible. |
| Battery life | Published battery information and a way to charge without blocking the phone | A controller that disconnects during a run can be mistaken for an in-game input failure. |
| Exact-device support | Any compatibility statement covering your phone, tablet, and operating-system version | Android behavior is not officially established for every device, so exact-match evidence is more useful than a generic “works with Android” label. |
A standard Bluetooth mobile game controller is the most relevant accessory category. Avoid assuming that a controller designed for a different platform will map correctly just because it pairs successfully.
Pair a Bluetooth controller with iPhone or iPad
- Update and check the device. Confirm that the iPhone or iPad is running iOS or iPadOS 16 or later and uses an A12 Bionic chip or newer. Install Absolum only after the device meets both published requirements.
- Charge the controller. A low battery can cause repeated disconnects or prevent pairing mode from starting.
- Enter pairing mode. Use the controller manufacturer’s documented Bluetooth-pairing command. The exact button combination differs by controller, so follow its manual rather than guessing.
- Open Bluetooth settings. Go to Settings > Bluetooth and leave Bluetooth enabled. Wait for the controller to appear under available devices.
- Select the controller. Tap its name and wait until iOS or iPadOS shows it as connected. If a passcode prompt appears, use the code specified in the controller manual.
- Prevent competing connections. Turn off Bluetooth on a nearby phone, tablet, computer, or console that might automatically reclaim the controller. A controller should not be actively paired to another host while you are testing it with the iPhone or iPad.
- Launch Absolum after pairing. Starting the game after the system connection is established gives the app the best chance to initialize the controller correctly.
- Run the input check. Test directional movement, jump or dodge, a basic attack, any alternate attack or shoulder input, and menu navigation. Confirm that the game responds without touching the screen.
Pair a Bluetooth controller with Android
- Confirm the phone meets Playdigious’ requirements. Use Android 9 or later, more than 3 GB of RAM, and a GPU that is not in the excluded low-end families. A phone that fails one of these checks may have performance or installation problems unrelated to the controller.
- Charge the controller and close other hosts. Disconnect it from a console, computer, or another mobile device so it will enter pairing mode instead of reconnecting to its previous host.
- Enter Bluetooth pairing mode. Follow the controller’s manual. Some gamepads use a dedicated Bluetooth button; others require holding a mode and power combination.
- Open Android Bluetooth settings. The label varies by manufacturer, but the path is usually Settings > Connected devices > Pair new device, or Settings > Bluetooth. Enable Bluetooth and scan for nearby devices.
- Tap the controller name. Wait for Android to show a connected or paired state. If Android asks to confirm a pairing code, accept it only when the code matches the controller’s instructions.
- Check the controller mode. If the gamepad offers several modes, note which one Android connected. Do not change modes while Absolum is running; forget the device, select the documented Android mode, and pair again if necessary.
- Launch Absolum and test immediately. Because official Android controller support is not stated, verify movement, dodge or jump, attacks, and menus before committing to a full run.
- Record the result. Note your phone model, Android version, controller mode, and which buttons worked. Those details help you repeat a successful setup after updates or identify a build-specific problem.
Verify controls before starting a run
A Bluetooth icon or “connected” label only proves that the phone has a wireless link. It does not prove that Absolum has initialized the controller. Use a short, repeatable check:
- Move in each direction and confirm that the character stops when the stick or directional pad returns to neutral.
- Trigger the game’s jump or dodge input, then repeat it several times to detect missed presses.
- Use the primary attack and any other attack mapped to face, shoulder, or trigger buttons.
- Open and close a menu, move through a list, and confirm that selection and back commands work.
- Briefly touch the screen only to determine whether the game has silently switched to touch input; do not assume touch prompts indicate controller failure.
If the game offers a controller or remapping page, inspect it after the basic test. Save any changes, exit the menu, and test again. The available labels and remapping options are build-specific and are not documented in the published Android requirements.

Troubleshoot by symptom
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| The controller does not appear in Bluetooth settings | Pairing mode did not start, the battery is low, or another host has claimed the controller. | Charge it, disconnect other hosts, repeat the documented pairing command, and scan again. |
| Android says connected, but Absolum ignores every button | The Android build may not recognize that controller or its current input mode. | Close and relaunch Absolum after pairing, try the controller’s documented Android mode, and test another supported mode only after forgetting and re-pairing. Do not assume the phone connection guarantees game support. |
| Movement works but attack or shoulder inputs do not | Partial mapping, an unsupported mode, or a game-side mapping issue. | Check in-game remapping if available, verify the controller mode, and test each button in a menu and in gameplay. Record the missing inputs with your device details. |
| The game worked once, then stopped seeing the controller | The controller reconnected to another device, the app was launched before Bluetooth connected, or the wireless link dropped. | Confirm the system shows the controller as connected, close and relaunch the game, and keep other paired hosts from auto-connecting. |
| Inputs feel delayed or intermittent | Wireless interference, a low controller battery, distance, or a marginal connection. | Keep the phone and controller close, charge the controller, move away from competing Bluetooth devices, and retest. No published Absolum latency benchmark establishes a normal delay. |
| Touch controls work but controller prompts never appear | The game may have loaded touch input first or may not support the Android controller in that build. | Pair before launching, restart the app, inspect controller settings, and verify the same controller in another compatible app to separate a system issue from an Absolum issue. |
Improve reliability during play
- Pair before launching. This is especially useful on Android, where controller recognition is not explicitly documented.
- Keep the connection simple. Avoid switching the controller between devices during a session and prevent nearby hosts from reconnecting automatically.
- Keep firmware and operating-system updates in mind. An update can change discovery, button mapping, or game behavior; retest after a major phone or game update.
- Use a stable physical setup. A phone mount should not press hardware buttons, cover speakers, or block charging access. If the controller and mount are separate, make sure the cable or charging lead cannot pull the phone during play.
- Have touch controls available as a fallback. The iOS listing advertises a redesigned touch interface, so an iPhone or iPad remains playable if a controller battery dies. On Android, controller behavior should be treated as unconfirmed until your build passes the input test.
What to expect around the mobile launch
The announced mobile date is November 5, 2026. Before that date, a pre-order or registration page may not reflect the final controller behavior. After installation, check the game’s version and any in-game support notes before troubleshooting hardware. A post-launch update could add, remove, or change mappings, particularly on Android where the currently published requirements do not promise controller support.
Use this release-day checklist:
- Confirm your phone meets the correct platform requirements.
- Install or update Absolum from the official store for your platform.
- Charge the controller and disconnect it from other hosts.
- Pair it in system Bluetooth settings.
- Launch the game only after the connected status appears.
- Test movement, dodge or jump, attacks, and menus.
- Only begin a full run after every essential input responds consistently.
Bottom line for each platform
iPhone and iPad
An MFi-compatible Bluetooth controller is the documented choice. Meet the iOS or iPadOS 16 and A12-or-newer requirements, pair through Settings > Bluetooth, then launch Absolum and verify the controls.
