Pair the Wolverine Limited Edition DualSense by turning on the PS5, connecting the controller to the console with a USB cable, and pressing the controller’s PS button. When the light bar blinks and the player indicator lights up, pairing is complete. If the controller has enough battery, disconnect the cable and use it wirelessly.
What you need before pairing
- A PS5 console that is switched on.
- The Wolverine-themed DualSense controller.
- A USB cable that connects the controller to the PS5.
The Wolverine limited editions are themed versions of Sony’s DualSense Wireless Controller. That means they use the standard DualSense pairing procedure rather than a separate Wolverine-specific setup. Sony identifies the Marvel’s Wolverine Adamantium Limited Edition DualSense as compatible with PS5. Sony has also announced a Battle Yellow Limited Edition DualSense. These are different Wolverine-themed designs, but the pairing process is the same for both.
Pair the controller with your PS5 for the first time
Use this sequence when the controller has never been paired with your PS5, or when you want to pair it with a PS5 it is not currently linked to.

- Connect the controller to the console. Plug one end of the USB cable into the Wolverine Limited Edition DualSense and the other end into a USB port on the PS5.
- Press the PS button. If the controller is switched off, press its PS button once while it is connected by USB.
- Watch the controller indicators. The light bar should blink, and the player indicator should light up when the controller connects.
- Remove the cable when the battery is sufficient. Once the controller has enough charge, disconnect the USB cable and continue using the DualSense wirelessly.
The USB connection is required for this initial pairing sequence in Sony’s instructions. Pressing the PS button before connecting the controller does not replace the documented cable-first process.

How to tell whether pairing worked
Light bar feedback
A blinking light bar is the connection feedback Sony specifies during pairing. It shows that the controller is performing the connection process after you press the PS button.
Player indicator feedback
The player indicator lights up when the controller connects. This is the confirmation to look for before unplugging the cable for wireless use.

If the light bar blinks but the player indicator does not light up, the connection has not reached the stated completed state. Leave the controller connected, repeat the documented sequence, and press the PS button again while the PS5 is on.

Pair it with a different PS5
A DualSense controller can pair with only one PS5 console at a time. If the Wolverine controller was previously paired with another PS5, it will not remain paired with both consoles simultaneously.

- Turn on the PS5 you want to use.
- Connect the controller to that console with a USB cable.
- Press the controller’s PS button.
- Wait for the light bar to blink and the player indicator to light up.
- Disconnect the cable only after the controller has enough battery for wireless use.
Pairing it with the new console is therefore a repeat of the initial setup, not an additional multi-console registration. When you move the controller back to the original PS5, repeat the same USB-and-PS-button process with that console.

If the controller does not connect
Sony’s pairing guidance provides the connection sequence and indicator behavior, but it does not publish a detailed Wolverine-specific troubleshooting flow in the referenced support material. Start by repeating only the documented steps:

- Confirm the PS5 is powered on.
- Make sure the USB cable is connected to both the controller and the PS5.
- Press the controller’s PS button after the cable is connected.
- Wait for the light bar to blink and the player indicator to light up.
- If the controller was used with another PS5, perform the pairing process again on the console you now want to use.
Do not assume that the Wolverine branding changes the pairing method or requires a special accessory. The relevant Sony instructions call for a USB connection and the PS button; the Wolverine editions are DualSense controllers covered by that standard process.
Common questions about the Wolverine DualSense pairing process
Does the Wolverine Limited Edition need a special pairing mode?
No separate mode is identified. Because the Wolverine editions are DualSense controllers, use the normal DualSense-to-PS5 procedure: USB cable first, then the PS button.

Can I pair one controller with two PS5 consoles?
Not at the same time. Sony states that a DualSense controller can pair with only one PS5 console. Pair it again by USB with the other console whenever you switch.
When can I unplug the USB cable?
Wait until the controller has enough battery, then disconnect the cable for wireless use. The indicator lights should already show that the connection succeeded.
Does the design matter: Adamantium or Battle Yellow?
No. Sony has identified both as Wolverine-themed DualSense designs, and the standard DualSense pairing steps apply to either one. The title “Wolverine Limited Edition” alone does not specify which design you own.

Once those conditions are met, the Wolverine Limited Edition DualSense is paired with that PS5. Moving it to another PS5 requires repeating the same process because the controller stores a pairing with one PS5 console at a time.
