To pair Bose QuietComfort Earbuds sold from 2024, put them in pairing mode, then select Bose QuietComfort Earbuds in the Bluetooth settings of your iPhone, Android phone, or computer. Open the case and wait for its status light to glow before removing the earbuds. If they are not ready to connect, touch and hold either earbud for four seconds until you hear “Ready to pair.”
Before you start: check which QuietComfort Earbuds you have
These steps apply to the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds sold from 2024. Bose’s instructions do not establish that the same touch control applies to earlier QuietComfort Earbuds generations, so check your model before following the pairing-mode step.
Pair the earbuds with a phone or computer
- Open the charging case. Wait until the status light starts to glow.
- Remove the earbuds. Bose says they are ready to connect when removed from the case.
- Enter pairing mode if needed. Touch and hold either earbud for four seconds, until you hear “Ready to pair.”
- Open Bluetooth settings on the iPhone, Android phone, or computer. Turn Bluetooth on if it is off.
- Select “Bose QuietComfort Earbuds” from the available Bluetooth devices and complete any on-screen prompt.
Bose’s instructions give this general Bluetooth-settings process but do not specify current menu paths for iOS, Android, Windows, or macOS, so the exact labels and layout may differ by device and software version. The essential step is choosing the earbuds from the device’s Bluetooth list.

Connect the Bose QCE app afterward
First pair the earbuds through your phone or computer’s Bluetooth device list. Bose says this must happen before the Bose QCE app can connect for added functionality. The app is optional for the Bluetooth pairing described above.

Use the earbuds with more than one device
The earbuds can be actively connected to two devices at a time, although audio plays from only one device at a time. If two devices are already connected and you connect a third, the new connection replaces the older of the existing two. Bose also says the earbuds remember the last several connected devices and can reconnect automatically, but does not state the exact number remembered.
