Bitdefender Autopilot recommends security features or actions based on how you use your device. Review each recommendation and choose whether to follow it; to quiet recommendation pop-ups, turn off Recommendation notifications in Settings. Muting those notices is not the same as disabling Autopilot or turning off security protection.
What Bitdefender Autopilot does
Bitdefender describes Autopilot as a contextual security advisor. It can suggest features that fit what you are doing—such as work, online payments, watching movies, or playing games—or actions Bitdefender says can help keep the product working at full capacity. A suggestion is a recommendation, not an automatic instruction to change settings.
To use one, read the recommendation and click its corresponding button to start the suggested feature or improvement. If you do not want to follow it, you can dismiss it or leave it alone.

How to turn off Autopilot recommendation pop-ups
- Open the Bitdefender interface and select Settings.
- Open General.
- Turn off Recommendation notifications.
This documented setting mutes recommendation notifications. It does not establish that Autopilot itself has been disabled, and Bitdefender’s current Windows-oriented support page lists recommendation notifications separately from special-offer messages. See How to Disable Bitdefender Promotional Notifications and Emails for those separate messaging controls.
Autopilot is different from automatic Profiles
If by “Autopilot” you mean Bitdefender automatically changing settings for work, movies, or games, you may be looking for Profiles. Profiles can activate based on your activity or running applications. In the interface documented by Bitdefender, manage their automatic activation here:

What happens to other Bitdefender notifications?
Recommendation pop-ups are not the same as the broader security event log. Bitdefender’s Notifications area records security events, including critical, warning, and informational notices. Turning off recommendation notifications should not be described as turning off all security notifications. For details on the event log, see Notifications in Bitdefender.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Can you disable Autopilot completely?
The documented instructions establish how to mute recommendation notifications and how to control automatic Profiles. They do not establish one universal setting for completely disabling Autopilot across Bitdefender products and platforms. If your menus differ, check the support material for your exact product and version rather than assuming the notification switch disables the feature.
