You can transfer much of a Spotify library to YouTube Music, but no available method guarantees every song will match or remain playable. Use YouTube Music’s built-in transfer first, handle liked tracks separately from playlists, then audit the destination before cancelling Spotify or deleting anything.
What can move from Spotify to YouTube Music?
YouTube Music’s transfer process can bring over library records such as playlists, albums, artists, and tracks, depending on the source service. Google cautions that “Some songs may not be available on YouTube Music.” A transfer copies music-library information; it does not move audio files or streaming access entitlements. Spotify remains unchanged, and later edits do not sync automatically between the services.
Playlists, liked tracks, saved albums, and followed artists are separate categories. In particular, a playlist named “Liked Songs” is still just a playlist when transferred; it does not necessarily recreate each track as a YouTube Music favorite.

1. Make an inventory
Before starting, note the names and track counts of your playlists, saved albums, followed artists, and Liked Songs. Also identify playlists created or updated automatically by Spotify so you can decide whether to transfer them. This checklist helps you compare what you intended to move with what appears in YouTube Music; it is not an automatic full-library export.

2. Try YouTube Music’s built-in transfer
- In YouTube Music, open your profile, then go to Settings > Privacy & data > Transfer playlists from other apps.
- Connect Spotify as the source service and choose the items YouTube Music presents for transfer.
- Authorize the Google account you want to use for YouTube Music and complete the transfer flow.
Google says larger libraries may process in the background, so you do not need to keep the app or page open. Available categories can depend on the source service. See Google’s transfer instructions for its current workflow and caveats.
3. Use a third-party service if you need more control
Google names TuneMyMusic and Soundiiz as third-party options, but says it does not guarantee their service quality or handle disputes. Soundiiz documents transfers from Spotify to YouTube Music for playlists, liked songs, saved albums, and followed artists. Its free plan transfers playlists one at a time and lets you select up to 200 tracks per playlist; the first 200 are selected by default, though you can change the selection. Batch playlist transfers and transfers of liked tracks, albums, and artists require a paid plan. Confirm current terms before connecting accounts.

Soundiiz matches items using details such as title, artist, album, duration, and version, and uses identifiers such as ISRC or UPC where available. It can flag uncertain or unmatched results for review. A match can still differ from the Spotify version, and a track may be unavailable in the destination.

If you want tracks to appear in YouTube Music’s Liked Music collection, use Soundiiz’s library track/favorites transfer category rather than transferring a playlist titled “Liked Songs.” Soundiiz’s instructions describe the Tracks category as the way to add matched items as favorites. Soundiiz states that YouTube Music’s Liked Music collection has a limit of 5,000 tracks, according to its support page updated August 22, 2026. If your Spotify likes exceed that ceiling, a single favorites transfer cannot preserve them all in Liked Music. Keep a separate record and verify any alternative arrangement rather than assuming a playlist preserves the liked state.

- Playlists: Library > Playlists
- Liked tracks: Liked Music
- Albums: Library > Albums
- Followed artists: Subscriptions
Confirm that you are viewing the same Google account and YouTube channel you authorized. If the library appears on the web but not in the mobile app, refresh the app or sign out and back in. Search for unmatched or unavailable songs; when another playable version exists, add it manually and check that it is the version you intended.

What a transfer cannot guarantee
- Every song will match: catalogs, versions, metadata, regional rights, and service permissions can differ. Review uncertain and unmatched results.
- Offline downloads will move: downloaded audio and access entitlements are not transferred.
- Spotify and YouTube Music will stay in sync: later changes to one library do not automatically update the other.
- Podcasts will transfer: YouTube Music’s documented transfer process does not import or export podcasts.
- A third-party transfer will be supported by Google: Google does not guarantee third-party service quality or mediate disputes.
Do not cancel Spotify or delete playlists until you have checked the YouTube Music library and resolved the missing items that matter to you. A completed transfer means the process ran; it is not proof that every intended track and favorite arrived in the expected form.
