You can’t transfer Samsung Gallery photos to Samsung Cloud: Samsung Cloud device backups don’t include Gallery photos or videos. Samsung’s former Gallery sync with OneDrive ended on September 30, 2026. To retrieve photos already synced through that service, download them from OneDrive; to back up new photos there, use OneDrive’s Camera backup feature.
Why Samsung Cloud is not the destination for Gallery photos
Samsung’s US support guidance says Samsung Cloud device backups do not include photos and videos in Gallery. The former Gallery sync feature used Microsoft OneDrive instead. Samsung announced that Gallery sync to OneDrive ended September 30, 2026, so older instructions to enable it from Gallery settings no longer start a working service.

Get previously synced photos from OneDrive onto your device
Samsung says photos and videos that were synced through Gallery remain in OneDrive and can still be accessed in the OneDrive app. Download the files you want if you need local copies on your phone or tablet:

- Open the OneDrive app and find the photo or video.
- Select the file, then choose Download.
- For multiple files, select the items you want and download them. Only files that fit in the device’s available storage will be saved.
If you only need to view or keep cloud copies accessible, you can leave them in OneDrive. Samsung’s instructions for retrieving or deleting previously synced files are in How to download or delete photos previously synced with OneDrive.
Back up new photos to OneDrive
For ongoing uploads, turn on Camera backup in the OneDrive app. Samsung identifies this as the way to continue storing photos and videos in OneDrive after Gallery sync ended. Camera backup is a new-upload workflow, not a continuation of the former Gallery integration or its two-way synchronization behavior.

Choose the right workflow

What changed from older instructions
Before the discontinuation, Samsung’s US guide described linking Gallery through Gallery > Menu > Settings > Sync with OneDrive or Cloud sync, then signing in to a personal OneDrive account. Those steps are historical, not a current setup path. Older regional guidance also described edits and deletions syncing between Gallery and OneDrive; do not assume that behavior applies to Camera backup.
