“House” can mean four different things in Hello Kitty Island Adventure: the new Player Home, your claimed player cabin, a visitor cabin, or the furniture design saved as a Layout or Kit. The correct action depends on which one you mean.
If you want to change your personal residence, the documented process applies to a claimed cabin: interact with its outdoor sign, or with the room plaque inside an upgraded cabin, choose Move Out, and then claim another repaired cabin. That procedure has not been established as a way to relocate the Player Home added in the October 8, 2026 Welcome Home update.

First, identify which “house” you want to change
The game’s home terminology changed when Sunblink added the Player Home in the Welcome Home update on October 8, 2026. Existing cabins still work as before, so an instruction that is correct for a cabin may not apply to the Player Home.

Player Home
The Player Home is the newer home feature introduced by the Welcome Home update. The update describes it as a customizable, upgradeable home and also adds Character Homes. The App Store version history for version 3.0.0 likewise identifies a new Player Home and Character Homes, with Pocket Rooms adding spaces to a Home or Cabins.

Player cabin
A player cabin is a repaired visitor cabin that you have claimed as your own residence. This is the home type for which a documented Move Out flow exists.
Visitor cabin
A visitor cabin is a repaired cabin furnished to attract a visitor or house a resident. Once you have repaired more than one visitor cabin, you can swap cabin contents, subject to resident and region rules.
Cabin layout or contents
A Layout or Kit represents a cabin design: its furniture arrangement and other cabin contents. Layouts and Kits let you reuse a design in another cabin without treating that design transfer as a relocation of your Player Home.
What can move, where the control is, and what limits apply

How to move your personal residence to another cabin
Use these steps when “my house” means the player cabin you claimed as your own.
Before you start
- Complete the Make Yourself At Home quest if you have not already done so. The cabin reference identifies this quest as the point at which a player can claim a repaired visitor cabin.
- Repair the cabin you want to use next. A cabin that is not repaired cannot serve as the replacement residence.
- Check whether the cabin you currently use is upgraded. The interaction point differs between an un-upgraded and an upgraded cabin.
- Remember that this changes your claimed cabin. It is not evidence that the newer Player Home can be moved.
Move out of an un-upgraded player cabin
- Go outside to the sign at your claimed cabin.
- Interact with the sign to open the cabin options.
- Select Move Out.
- After you have moved out, go to the other repaired cabin you want to claim and use its available claim interaction.
The outdoor sign is the documented access point for an un-upgraded cabin. If you do not see the expected option, verify that you are interacting with the cabin sign rather than a nearby decoration or another cabin’s sign.
Move out of an upgraded player cabin
- Enter your claimed cabin.
- Interact with the room plaque inside the upgraded cabin.
- Select Move Out.
- Travel to the other repaired cabin and claim it using the cabin’s claim interaction.
An upgraded cabin uses its interior room plaque instead of the outside sign for this documented action. The distinction matters because checking only the exterior sign can make the Move Out option appear to be missing.

What happens to a visitor already in the cabin?
The cabin reference states that when a player claims a repaired visitor cabin, any visitor occupying that cabin is forced to move out. Plan for that result before claiming a cabin that is currently being used to house or attract a visitor.
What this procedure does not prove
Moving out of a player cabin is not a general “move house” command for every home system in the game. The available documentation supports the cabin procedure only. It does not establish that the Player Home can be relocated, exchanged with a cabin, or assigned to a different map position through the same sign or plaque.
How to swap a visitor cabin or move a resident
If you are trying to change where a visitor lives rather than where you live, use the visitor-cabin swap system instead of Move Out.
Requirement: more than one repaired visitor cabin
The documented swap rule applies once more than one visitor cabin has been repaired. With only one repaired cabin, there is no second repaired cabin between which to exchange contents.
Access the swap interaction
- For a non-upgraded visitor cabin, interact with the outdoor sign.
- For an upgraded visitor cabin, enter the cabin and interact with the room plaque.
- Use the cabin option that swaps its contents with another repaired visitor cabin.
- Confirm the destination cabin carefully before accepting the change, especially if one cabin contains a permanent resident or a carefully arranged design.
This operation concerns cabin contents and resident placement. It is separate from changing your own claimed player cabin and separate from moving the Player Home.

Permanent residents can be moved by swapping cabins, but the cabin reference cautions that some residents must remain in their required region. If a resident cannot be placed in a particular cabin, the regional requirement is the first constraint to check; repeatedly trying different cabin controls will not remove that restriction.

When a visitor swap is the right solution
- Use a swap when the problem is that a visitor is in the wrong repaired cabin.
- Use a swap when you want to exchange the furniture and contents of two visitor cabins.
- Do not use a swap as a method for changing the location of your Player Home.
- Do not assume every permanent resident can move to every region.
How Layouts and Kits change a cabin without moving your home
Layouts and Kits solve a different problem: preserving or reusing a cabin design. Sunblink’s October 8, 2026 announcement says, “Layout and Kits let you share your cabin designs with other players or easily move them from cabin to cabin.”
What a Layout or Kit transfers
The feature transfers a saved cabin design or its arrangement between cabins. It is useful when you have spent time furnishing one cabin and want to reproduce that design elsewhere, or when you want to share the design with another player.
What it does not establish
The announcement describes cabin-to-cabin movement. It does not say that a Layout or Kit moves the Player Home itself, changes the Player Home’s map location, or converts a cabin into the Player Home. Treat the feature as a design-transfer tool unless a later official update specifies broader behavior.
Choosing between Move Out, Swap, and Layouts/Kits

Can you move the new Player Home?
The current official material confirms that the Player Home can be customized and upgraded. It also confirms the arrival of Character Homes and expanded cabin floorplans in the Welcome Home update. However, it does not describe a specific way to relocate the Player Home.
There is no verified instruction in the available material for a Player Home move marker, mailbox selection, map command, Move Out button, price, quest requirement, or platform-specific sequence. Do not infer one from the cabin sign-and-plaque procedure. A cabin’s Move Out action and the Player Home are different systems introduced at different points in the game’s home features.
If your goal is to expand or personalize the Player Home
The supported description is customization and upgrading, with Pocket Rooms adding spaces to a Home or Cabins according to the version 3.0.0 App Store notes. Those notes establish the feature’s existence but do not provide a detailed relocation path or a complete list of decoration controls.

If your goal is to move furniture
Do not confuse moving furniture inside a home with moving the home’s location. The accessible official descriptions reviewed here do not specify the exact current button sequence for rearranging Player Home furniture. Follow the on-screen decoration controls in your installed version rather than applying cabin sign, plaque, swap, or Move Out instructions to interior editing.

There is no Move Out option
- Confirm that you are at your claimed player cabin, not merely a visitor cabin.
- If the cabin is un-upgraded, check the outdoor sign.
- If it is upgraded, enter the cabin and check the interior room plaque.
- Verify that you have another repaired cabin available before attempting to change residences.
- If you are standing in the Player Home, stop looking for the cabin Move Out control; the documented cabin flow does not establish a Player Home relocation feature.
The cabin you want cannot be claimed
- Check that the cabin has been repaired.
- Confirm that you have reached the point in the Make Yourself At Home quest that allows a player to claim a repaired visitor cabin.
- Remember that claiming an occupied visitor cabin forces that visitor to move out.
A resident will not move to the selected cabin
Check whether the resident is permanent and whether the destination cabin is in the region required for that resident. Regional restrictions can prevent a valid-looking cabin swap.
Your saved design is not where you expect
Make sure you are using the Layouts or Kits feature for a cabin-design transfer. A design transfer is not the same as changing your claimed residence, and neither is documented as moving the Player Home.
What the current update timeline tells you
January 30, 2025: Nintendo’s official listing identifies the Nintendo Switch release of Hello Kitty Island Adventure. That listing describes renovating and decorating cabins to attract visitors and is a digital game listing; it does not, by itself, verify a physical edition.
October 8, 2026: Sunblink’s “Welcome Home is Here!” announcement introduces the Player Home, Character Homes, and expanded cabin floorplans. It also describes Layouts and Kits for sharing or moving cabin designs between cabins.
