Yes—Nintendo Support describes a way to move Pokémon from compatible Game Boy Advance game save data into Pokémon HOME on Nintendo Switch or Switch 2. Open HOME on the console, choose “GBA games,” select a game and save data, then choose a box. The transfer is one-way for Pokémon from FireRed or LeafGreen: they cannot be sent back to those games.
How the GBA-to-HOME transfer works
Nintendo’s documented workflow uses Pokémon HOME on a Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2. It does not say to insert a physical GBA cartridge into the console. Instead, it presents a “GBA games” option in HOME for choosing a game and save data. Nintendo’s transfer instructions give this sequence:

- Launch Pokémon HOME on Nintendo Switch or Switch 2.
- Select “GBA games.”
- Choose the game and the save data you want to use.
- Select a box to transfer Pokémon from.
Pokémon in the party cannot be transferred, so the Pokémon you want to move must be in a box.

Transfers from FireRed and LeafGreen are one-way
Nintendo says Pokémon transferred from Pokémon FireRed or Pokémon LeafGreen to HOME cannot be transferred back to those GBA games. Treat the move as permanent for those original saves: choose carefully before confirming.

- This renewed game will not come with the original case or manual; cartridge only. It has been cleaned, tested, and is in nice condition.
HOME does not make every Pokémon usable in every game
A Pokémon’s compatibility depends on the destination game and whether that Pokémon is available in it. Before transferring, check its compatible-games list in HOME. Nintendo’s transfer guidance explains game compatibility; a HOME transfer should not be taken to mean that the Pokémon can be moved into every connected title.
Premium is not required for console transfers between compatible save data
Nintendo’s FAQ distinguishes Pokémon HOME on console from its mobile version. It says a Premium Plan is not required for transfers between compatible game save data on the console version. The GBA-game workflow described here is specifically for console HOME; mobile HOME is not the interface for selecting “GBA games.” See Nintendo’s HOME compatibility FAQ.

How this differs from the old Pal Park route
The earlier documented GBA migration method moved Pokémon into Nintendo DS-era games rather than directly into HOME. For example, Nintendo’s Pokémon Platinum manual describes Pal Park migration and requires the National Pokédex. That hardware-and-game route is historical context, not a prerequisite for the GBA-game selection in console HOME.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:

|---|---|---|---|
| GBA-game connection in HOME | Pokémon HOME | Pokémon HOME on Nintendo Switch or Switch 2; select “GBA games,” game, save data, and a box | Nintendo Support currently documents this workflow. FireRed/LeafGreen transfers cannot be returned to those games. |
| Pal Park migration | Pokémon Platinum | GBA Pokémon title, compatible Nintendo DS system and Pokémon Platinum; National Pokédex required according to the manual | Historical migration route into a DS game, not the HOME workflow. |
Do you need Pokémon Bank or a 3DS?
Not for the console HOME workflow above: Nintendo’s instructions name Switch and Switch 2. Pokémon Bank is a separate transfer path, not another name for the GBA-game selection. Nintendo’s Pokémon Bank service notice says Bank-to-HOME transfers will stop when Bank ends service and advises users to move Pokémon before that happens. The notice passage does not establish an end date, so check Nintendo’s current notice rather than relying on an assumed deadline.

What Nintendo’s instructions do not establish
The support pages cited here explain the transfer procedure but do not identify the exact new release suggested by the headline, give its launch date, or provide a complete list of supported GBA titles. Confirm the game and save data appear in HOME before planning a transfer; do not infer support for every GBA Pokémon game from the “GBA games” label alone.
