To mirror a compatible Samsung Galaxy tablet, open Smart View from Quick Settings, choose your TV, and approve the connection on the TV if prompted. Keep both devices on the same Wi-Fi network. Not every tablet or TV supports the same mirroring features, and Samsung’s menus can vary by model, software version, and region.
How do I mirror my Samsung tablet to my TV?

Turn on the TV and confirm it supports the wireless display feature used by your tablet.

Connect the tablet and TV to the same Wi-Fi network.

On the tablet, swipe down to open Quick Settings, then tap Smart View. If Smart View is missing, edit Quick Settings and add the button; the exact editing controls vary by software version.

Select your TV from the device list.

Approve the connection request on the TV if one appears.

To stop mirroring, disconnect from the tablet or use the TV remote’s return control, depending on the TV.
These steps follow Samsung’s Smart View guidance. Menu labels and sequences are not identical across all devices.

Does my Samsung tablet support Smart View?
Support depends on the tablet model and its software. Check the tablet’s feature list or Quick Settings for Smart View, and check that the TV or receiving display supports a compatible wireless display method. Samsung’s US troubleshooting page identifies Miracast as relevant to Smart View connections: Samsung Smart View troubleshooting.
Samsung UK says SmartThings can automatically detect and connect to most Samsung TVs manufactured from 2016 onward. That statement applies to Samsung’s UK guidance and to “most,” not all, TVs; regional availability and specific model support can differ. SmartThings is a way to connect to compatible Samsung TVs, not a guarantee that every television can receive a mirrored screen.
Should I mirror the screen or cast from an app?
Screen mirroring duplicates the tablet’s display on the TV. App-based casting sends selected content from a compatible app, rather than reproducing everything shown on the tablet. Choose the route based on what you want to display:

Can I mirror Netflix or other streaming video?
Samsung says DRM-protected content cannot be mirrored through Smart View. If a streaming service offers a built-in cast function, try that instead, provided both the app and TV or receiver support it. A wired adapter should not be treated as a way around content restrictions.
Why won’t my Samsung tablet connect to my TV?
Check the issue that best matches what you see:
The TV does not appear in Smart View

If a VPN setting error appears, disconnect the VPN and try again, as Samsung recommends in its US troubleshooting guidance.
The TV appears but rejects the connection

Look for a permission prompt on the TV and accept it.

If the TV previously blocked the tablet, review the TV’s device-connection or permission settings.

The connection is unstable

Check that the Wi-Fi connection is stable.

Install available software updates for the tablet and TV.

Restart both devices and try Smart View again.
The mirrored picture looks too small
Samsung’s US troubleshooting guidance suggests adjusting the Smart View phone or tablet aspect ratio. The setting path can vary; look for aspect-ratio controls within Smart View or display settings.
Streaming video is black or unavailable
The service may block screen mirroring because its video is DRM-protected. Use the app’s own cast option if it supports casting to your receiver.
When is a USB-C to HDMI adapter a better option?
A wired connection may help when wireless mirroring is unreliable or unavailable, but a USB-C port alone does not establish that a tablet can output video. Confirm that the exact tablet supports wired video output and that the adapter is compatible with that model before purchasing. Samsung notes that HDMI adapters are sold separately; its guidance does not establish wired video support for every Galaxy tablet.
