The reliable way to keep crafting materials from taking over your Speranza stash is to manage them by near-term goals, not by a universal “keep one of everything” rule. Merge partial stacks, check tracked quests and workshop upgrades, use the inventory Crafting tab to see what your current materials can make, then sell or recycle surplus that has no immediate job. Keep stash slots, carried weight and stack limits separate when diagnosing a space problem.
Start with the three different inventory limits
Inventory decisions become much easier when you identify which limit is actually stopping you. Arc Raiders has three related but different constraints:
| Constraint | What it controls | Typical symptom | Best response |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stash slots | How many separate item stacks or objects you can store at Speranza | The stash says it is full even though several stacks are small | Merge partial stacks, clear low-priority items, and pursue appropriate capacity upgrades |
| Carried weight | How heavy the items in your current loadout or pack are | You cannot carry another item or your loadout exceeds its weight allowance | Remove heavy items, change the loadout, or return to Speranza; adding stash slots does not raise the carried-weight limit |
| Stack limit | How many copies of one material can occupy a single stack | Identical materials occupy several stacks because each stack is capped | Merge stacks and plan around the current cap; do not assume an old guide’s number is still current |
A stash-slot problem is solved at the stash. A weight problem is solved in the loadout or during a raid. Treating them as the same issue leads to unnecessary selling and confusing weight readings.

Use a short cleanup loop every time you return to Speranza
A repeatable loop is more useful than a large one-time purge. Run these checks in order so that you do not discard a material you need for a tracked objective.

1. Merge partial stacks first
Open the Speranza inventory and use the merge-stacks option to consolidate identical materials. This turns several partly filled stacks into fewer full or nearly full stacks without destroying the material. Merging is the safest first action because it creates slots without changing your reserves.
PC Gamer’s inventory guide gives light ammunition stacking to 100 and common fabric and scrap metal stacking to 50 as examples. Those figures come from an older guide rather than a current official inventory specification, so confirm the cap shown by your current game. If your interface shows a different limit, use that value.
2. Check tracked quests and workshop upgrades
Look at every tracked quest, workshop project and upgrade you expect to complete soon. A material that appears common can still be the last requirement for an active objective. Keep enough for the next concrete goal, not an indefinite reserve for every possible future recipe.

3. Inspect what your current materials can build
Embark’s Field crafting help explains that you open field crafting by entering your inventory and selecting the Crafting tab. The tab includes filters showing what can be built from materials you currently hold. Use those filters as a practical keep test: if a held material contributes to a near-term recipe, quest or workshop upgrade, leave it reserved; if it supports no active goal, it becomes a candidate for sale or recycling.
4. Clear surplus deliberately
Sell or recycle only after the first three checks. Choose the action that helps your next planned loadout. Selling is appropriate when you want the currency or when the item has no useful recycling role. Recycling is appropriate when breaking the item down produces components you will use. The game does not establish a universal quota for every material, so avoid copying a fixed “keep exactly X” list without checking your own tracked requirements.
5. Recheck after every significant update
Patch changes can affect stack behavior, recipes, capacity and weight calculations. A material that was safe to discard before an update may become relevant to a changed recipe, while a weight display issue can make a full stash look like a carrying problem. Make a quick Crafting-tab and weight check after a major patch.

Make keep, sell and recycle decisions with four questions
When a material is taking a slot, ask these questions in order:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors- Is it needed for a tracked quest, workshop upgrade or recipe I expect to use soon? If yes, reserve it.
- How difficult will it be to replace? A scarce or dangerous-to-obtain component deserves a larger buffer than a common drop.
- How much space does it consume right now? One full stack may be efficient, while several partial stacks deserve immediate consolidation.
- Which outcome supports my next loadout better: keeping it, selling it or recycling it? Pick the action that advances the next planned activity rather than the action that merely feels tidy.
| Situation | Recommended action | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Needed for a tracked quest or upgrade you are about to complete | Keep and consolidate | Discarding it only forces another search for the same requirement |
| Used by a recipe visible in the Crafting tab, but not immediately needed | Keep a modest buffer; clear excess | You preserve flexibility without allowing unlimited stockpiles |
| Common material with no active recipe, quest or upgrade | Sell or recycle the surplus | It is occupying a slot without supporting a current goal |
| Rare component with an uncertain future use | Keep it until you have checked replacement difficulty and current filters | Replacement risk can outweigh the value of one saved slot |
| Several partial stacks of the same item | Merge before making any keep decision | It may be a slot problem rather than an excess-material problem |
A fan-maintained guide recommends retaining materials for active crafting, quests and upgrades while selling surplus common items. Treat that as practical advice, not an official rule. Your tracked objectives and the recipes visible in your own Crafting tab are the authoritative checks for your current session.
How to use the Crafting tab as a live inventory filter
See what is actionable now
The Crafting tab is more useful than a static tier list because it evaluates the materials in your inventory. Open it after returning to Speranza, then apply the available filters for recipes that can be built from materials currently held. This gives you a current list of items with an immediate crafting use.
Separate “can build” from “should build”
A recipe appearing in the filter does not mean you must craft it immediately. Compare it with your next loadout, active quest and workshop plan. If crafting would consume a scarce component needed for an upgrade, leave the component reserved. If the recipe makes a tool or consumable you will use on the next run, crafting can be a better use of the slot than hoarding its ingredients.
Use a near-term buffer rather than a permanent quota
Reserve enough for the next planned objective and one reasonable follow-up when replacement is difficult. Once that objective is complete, run the filter again and release materials that no longer have a job. This keeps the decision tied to changing goals instead of an arbitrary number that may become obsolete after a patch.
What to sell and what to recycle
Sell surplus at Speranza when currency is the priority
Sell materials that are common, easy to replace and absent from your active Crafting-tab, quest and upgrade requirements. Selling is also sensible when your next loadout needs currency more than additional components. Keep the decision local to the surplus: do not sell your entire reserve merely because one stack is unnecessary.

Use Field Recycling for immediate breakdowns
Embark’s Field crafting help describes Field Recycling as an immediate way to break down an item. Use it when the resulting components have a clear near-term purpose and when you have verified that the item is not needed intact for a quest, recipe or upgrade. Because the action changes the item into materials, treat it as a commitment rather than a temporary way to hide clutter.
Do not make raid salvage your routine storage plan
Field Recycling exists in the game, but a fan guide advises that breaking down salvage during a raid yields less than performing the full recycling process at Speranza. That yield comparison is fan-guide advice, not an official published rate. In practice, use in-raid salvage only when the immediate space is worth more than the reduced return—for example, when a valuable item cannot be picked up unless you free a slot and there is no safe opportunity to extract first.
As a normal routine, extract with the item, merge and review it at Speranza, then decide whether to sell or recycle. This preserves more flexibility and avoids sacrificing value merely to solve a temporary raid-space problem.
Organize stacks before spending on more capacity
Capacity upgrades help, but they should not be your first response to an untidy stash. A few minutes of consolidation can recover several slots without any cost.
- Group identical materials so partial stacks are visible and easy to merge.
- Keep items reserved for the same quest or workshop project together, so you do not mistake an active reserve for unused clutter.
- Place sell candidates in a separate mental or visual group and process them in one transaction.
- After crafting, inspect the remaining components; crafting can leave several small stacks that become mergeable.
- After an Expedition or other bonus-capacity change, re-evaluate the whole stash instead of filling every new slot automatically.
Do not confuse a larger number of slots with permission to keep every drop. More capacity postpones the decision; goal-based reserves keep the decision manageable.
Understand current stash capacity and upgrade uncertainty
The Arc Raiders Community Stash reference reports 64 base stash slots and a standard maximum of 328 slots after Update 2.0. Those figures exclude bonus spaces from Expedition and Nomadic Envoy systems. The same community reference says the Frozen Trail update added two upgrade tiers, but it does not publish the current post-2.0 upgrade costs or the size of the intermediate tier. Treat the published figures as a capacity reference, not as a complete price list.

| Capacity detail | What is established | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Base stash | 64 slots | Reported by the Arc Raiders Community Stash reference |
| Standard post-2.0 maximum | 328 slots | Excludes Expedition and Nomadic Envoy bonus spaces |
| Frozen Trail upgrade structure | Two upgrade tiers were added | Current costs and the intermediate tier size are not published in that reference |
| Second Expedition reward | Permanent stash-space reward described as 12 to 24 spaces | Embark says future Expedition rewards and requirements can change |
Do not rely on pre-2.0 credit prices when planning upgrades. The community reference notes that Cred was removed in Update 2.0, so older cost tables can describe a system that no longer applies. Check the upgrade screen in your current build for the price and the exact next-tier capacity.
Use bonus space as a buffer, not a new hoarding target
Embark’s published second-Expedition context describes a permanent bonus changing from 12 to 24 stash spaces. It is a specific reward context, not a guarantee that every future Expedition will use the same amount or requirements. When you receive bonus space, keep the same triage loop: reserve active goals, consolidate stacks, then clear surplus.
Keep stash slots and carried weight separate
A full stash and an overloaded character require different fixes. Stash slots count stored stacks and objects; carried weight reflects what your current character is taking into a raid or carrying after pickup. Adding a stash slot does not make a heavy loadout lighter, and dropping a low-value item from your pack does not create a permanent stash slot.
When the problem is carried weight
- Remove duplicate consumables or low-priority materials from the loadout.
- Compare the weight of a full stack with the value of carrying it through the next raid.
- Return to Speranza before the load becomes a reason to abandon a valuable pickup.
- Use the post-raid screen to verify what was actually added to the stash.
When the weight display looks wrong
Embark’s Update 2.1.0 notes, dated October 13, 2026, say that inventory weight now updates correctly after loading. The update also addresses incorrect initial weight calculations and end-of-round weight reporting. If a weight value changes after loading, or the end-of-round number does not match what you carried, restart the relevant screen or session and recheck before selling materials. Weight behavior can change with patches, so record the current in-game value rather than relying on an older guide.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.A practical routine for each part of a session
Before launching a raid
- Open the stash and merge partial stacks.
- Review tracked quests and the next workshop upgrade.
- Open the Crafting tab and filter for recipes available from materials you hold.
- Set aside only the reserve needed for those goals and your planned loadout.
- Sell or recycle surplus that has no current job, then confirm your carried weight.
During a raid
- Prioritize items tied to an active quest, upgrade or near-term recipe.
- Use in-raid salvage only when a space emergency justifies accepting a potentially lower return than recycling at Speranza.
- Do not discard a rare component merely to pick up a common material that is easy to replace.
- If your weight limit, rather than your stash slots, is the immediate problem, adjust the carried load instead of trying to clear the whole stash mentally.
After extraction
- Deposit the haul and merge all identical materials.
- Check whether the haul completed a tracked requirement or created a new crafting option.
- Move completed-objective materials into the surplus review rather than keeping them indefinitely.
- Sell or recycle items that no longer support your next plan.
- Verify the stash and weight displays after the transfer, particularly after an update.
After a patch or capacity upgrade
- Check stack limits in the live interface.
- Open Crafting and review available recipes again.
- Confirm the capacity shown by the upgrade screen instead of using an old cost table.
- Test weight before and after loading if the display behaves differently.
- Rebuild your reserves around current quests and upgrades rather than automatically filling newly available slots.
Common mistakes and how to correct them
Keeping one of every material forever
This creates a permanent tax on slots without considering replacement difficulty or current demand. Correct it by checking active goals and Crafting-tab filters, then releasing materials with no near-term use.
Discarding before merging
Several partial stacks can look like excess when they are simply uncombined. Merge first; only then judge whether the remaining full stacks are surplus.

- 【Reduce Safety Risks】Cable tray under desk keeps all plugs away from your kids, no more worry about tripping. Using 2 holes wire tray saves extra space, helps you easily cabling and wire protection. The mesh design is not easy to accumulate dust, but avoids safety accidents caused by messy wires.
Following an old stack or price guide literally
Guide examples such as 50 fabric or scrap metal and 100 light ammunition are useful reference points, but they are not a current official specification. Likewise, pre-2.0 Cred prices should not be treated as current after Cred’s removal. Read the live stack cap and upgrade screen in your build.
Assuming bonus slots solve management
Expedition and Nomadic Envoy spaces can increase available room, but the reported 328-slot standard maximum excludes those bonuses. Extra room is a buffer; it does not change which materials support your next objective.
Recycling in a raid because the stash is untidy
In-raid salvage can be an emergency space trade-off, and fan guidance says it may return less than full recycling at Speranza. If you can safely extract, keep the item intact and process it at the hub.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Confusing a weight bug with a stash shortage
Update 2.1.0 specifically addresses weight updates after loading, initial calculations and end-of-round reporting. If numbers disagree, verify the current build and screen before destroying useful materials.
Decision checklist
- Have all identical materials been merged?
- Is the material required by a tracked quest, workshop upgrade or near-term recipe?
- How difficult would it be to replace?
- Is the pressure coming from stash slots, carried weight or stack limits?
- Would selling or recycling better support the next planned loadout?
- Am I relying on an old stack cap, capacity tier or currency price?
- Is in-raid breakdown genuinely necessary, or can I extract and recycle at Speranza?
Run this checklist whenever the stash approaches its limit. It keeps your reserves tied to actual objectives, recovers space safely through consolidation and prevents outdated numbers from driving current decisions.
