If your Synth Riders score is visible in your personal statistics but missing from a Steam Frame leaderboard, update the game to version 3.6.7a2 or later, finish the song while connected to the internet, wait for the score summary to complete, and check SELF with COMBINED. Version 3.6.7a2, released on 14 October 2026, specifically fixes a Steam Frame leaderboard-display problem and prevents the score summary from stalling after a network drop.
If SELF plus COMBINED is still empty, treat the problem as a failed online submission rather than a display filter. Check the headset and game connection, make sure the game’s leaderboard service is allowed through the router, review ErrorLog.txt in the installation folder, and then compare the result with the near-real-time community mirror at synthriderz.com.
Start with the fix that applies to Steam Frame
Steam Frame players should first verify the installed Synth Riders build. The developer’s 3.6.7a2 update, dated 14 October 2026, explicitly addresses scores that were not appearing correctly on Steam Frame leaderboards. It also fixes a related failure in which the end-of-song score summary could stop responding when the network connection dropped.
Do not use an old local personal-best display as proof that the online leaderboard accepted the run. Local statistics and the online leaderboard are separate evidence. A run can update information shown on the device while the network submission remains missing or stale.

Update before troubleshooting a run
- Open the Steam library on the device or computer that launches Synth Riders.
- Check the game’s installed version in its properties or update details.
- Install version 3.6.7a2 or any later version offered by the developer.
- Launch the updated game and complete a fresh song while online. A run completed before updating may not be retroactively repaired on the leaderboard.
If the title is already on 3.6.7a2 or newer, move directly to the board and connectivity checks below. If the platform reports that no update is available but the displayed build is older, restart Steam and check for pending downloads before attempting another score.
Finish the song online and wait for the score summary
An online leaderboard entry is created at the end of a completed song, not merely when a personal best appears during play. Keep the game connected through the result screen and wait until the score summary finishes loading. Avoid closing the game, suspending the headset, switching networks, or forcing a restart while that screen is still processing.
What a successful submission should look like
- The song reaches its normal result or score-summary screen.
- The summary does not remain frozen or indefinitely blank.
- You remain connected until the result has finished displaying.
- You can later find the entry in the board’s
SELFview.
A local score, combo, or personal-best notification is useful for confirming that the run was recorded by the game. It does not establish that the online service received it. If the network resets immediately after the song, the local result can remain visible while the global entry remains unchanged.
Allow time for the board to refresh
After the score summary completes, leave the game open briefly, then reopen the relevant leaderboard. Online services can take a short time to refresh the displayed list. If you are checking immediately after a run, use SELF rather than scanning GLOBAL; your own entry is easier to identify and does not depend on finding its position among every player.
Use the correct leaderboard view and filter
Synth Riders provides three main views and two score filters. A missing entry is often present but hidden by the selected combination.

The diagnostic sequence
- Open the song’s leaderboard.
- Select
SELFas the view. - Select
COMBINEDas the filter. - Check whether your best score appears.
- Only after it appears, switch to
GLOBALto inspect the wider ranking.
This sequence separates an actual upload failure from a filter mismatch. It also avoids a common mistake: checking a modifier-specific board and assuming that an unrelated score should be listed there.

Why SELF plus COMBINED is the right first check
SELF answers the narrow question, “Did the online service record one of my scores?” COMBINED removes modifier matching from that question by showing your highest score regardless of modifiers. Together they provide the clearest test of whether the entry exists online.

This is a display-state issue, not necessarily a failed submission.
Example of a hidden but valid score
Suppose you complete a song without the modifier currently selected in the leaderboard menu. In SELF plus MODIFIERS, the game can show NO SCORE SET. Change the filter to COMBINED and the same song can show your best score. The score was not lost; the first board was restricted to a different ruleset.
Separate a display problem from a submission problem
Use the following evidence to classify what is happening before changing network settings or replaying songs.

Check the connection before replaying repeatedly
The developer identifies interrupted connectivity as a cause of scores not being saved to the online leaderboard. A connection can appear usable for gameplay while still failing when the result is submitted. Test the path used by the headset and the game rather than relying only on another device’s internet access.
Connection checklist
- Confirm that the headset or computer running Synth Riders is connected to the intended network.
- Do not change Wi-Fi networks between starting the song and completing the score summary.
- Restart the network connection if the game reports a drop, then launch a new test run.
- Check the router’s firewall, filtering, or access-control rules and allow the game’s leaderboard service to communicate.
- If the network uses a captive portal, guest isolation, strict parental controls, or enterprise filtering, test on a less restricted connection.
- Keep the game open until the score summary has finished after the run.
These checks are about reaching the leaderboard service. They do not alter the score itself, and they cannot make a modifier-specific score appear under a different modifier selection.

Inspect ErrorLog.txt for a failed upload
When SELF plus COMBINED remains empty after a connected run, inspect the game’s ErrorLog.txt file in the installation folder. The developer specifically points to this file when investigating connectivity and leaderboard-save failures.
How to use the log
- Close Synth Riders normally after the test run so the latest messages are written.
- Open the game’s installation folder using the platform’s local-files or installation-location command.
- Locate
ErrorLog.txtand open a copy in a plain-text editor. - Look for entries created at the time of the failed score submission, especially messages that mention connection, request, timeout, authentication, or leaderboard operations.
- Record the date and approximate time of the run, the song and difficulty, the installed game version, and the exact error text.
Do not delete the file before preserving the relevant lines. If you contact developer support, provide the unedited log section and the steps that reproduced the problem. A log does not prove that every missing score is recoverable; it helps distinguish a network request failure from a board-display mismatch.
Confirm the result outside the game
The developer says the SynthRiderz community offline leaderboards communicate with the game’s leaderboard API and are near real time and generally accurate. Use synthriderz.com as an external comparison after completing a run and waiting for the score summary.

- If the score appears on SynthRiderz but not in the in-game board, the submission likely reached the API and the remaining issue is display, filtering, synchronization, or account context inside the game.
- If it appears in neither place, the run may not have been submitted, or the external mirror may not yet have received the update.
- If the external listing shows a different modifier or difficulty, verify that you are comparing the same song variant and ruleset.
The mirror is a confirmation aid, not a replacement for the game’s own board. Its “near real time” description means updates are generally fast, not guaranteed instantaneous for every run.
Steam Frame ownership and what it does—and does not—change
The official Steam listing describes Synth Riders as playable on PC VR and Steam Frame. It states that owners of the PC VR version receive Steam Frame access at no additional cost. The listing also says DLC is cross-buy within the Steam storefront, so owned add-ons carry over between those versions.
Those ownership rules explain why the same player may see the title and content on both platforms. They do not establish a separate leaderboard repair procedure, and they do not make a controller or another accessory a required fix for score visibility. PC VR play requires motion controllers, but accessory changes are not a documented solution to a missing online leaderboard entry.

Keep platform context consistent while testing
- Launch the same Steam account that owns the game and the relevant content.
- Test on the Steam Frame build after confirming its game version, rather than assuming that a different installation updated automatically.
- Compare the same song, difficulty, modifiers, and board view when moving between platform versions.
- Do not infer a cloud-save or leaderboard result solely from DLC or ownership synchronization.
Local statistics, cloud files, and what is not established
A personal-best display is local evidence that the game recorded information about the run. It is not a universal guarantee about where the score file is stored or whether Steam cloud synchronization has completed.

No authoritative rule establishes one universal standalone Steam Frame location for Synth Riders local score files. File placement and cloud behavior can depend on the platform build and current implementation. Avoid moving, replacing, or deleting score files based on a path found for another edition. If the documented update, board-filter, network, and log checks do not resolve the problem, ask current developer support for build-specific guidance.

Follow these branches in order so that each test answers a different question.
- Is the build current? Confirm version 3.6.7a2 or later. If not, update and repeat a connected run.
- Did the result screen finish? If it stalled, update first, restore the connection, and run the song again.
- Is the score merely hidden? Open the song board and select
SELFplusCOMBINED. - Does the entry appear there? If yes, the upload succeeded; inspect
GLOBAL,FRIENDS, orMODIFIERSonly for the specific comparison you need. - Is it absent? Check the headset or computer connection, router access rules, and
ErrorLog.txt. - Can an external service see it? Compare with synthriderz.com after allowing time for the API mirror to update.
- Does every check fail on a current build? Preserve the log, note the exact run details, and contact current developer support with the reproduction steps.
Common mistakes that make a valid score look missing
Checking MODIFIERS first
This is the most common display mistake. A modifier-specific board can correctly report NO SCORE SET for a run made under another configuration. Switch to COMBINED before concluding that the score disappeared.
Looking only at GLOBAL
A global list can be difficult to scan, especially when many scores share a song and difficulty. Confirm the entry in SELF first; global placement is a separate question from submission.
Quitting at the first personal-best message
The personal-best message is not the end-of-song upload confirmation. Stay through the complete score summary while online.

Repeating runs on an obsolete build
Older Steam Frame builds may contain the exact display issue fixed in 3.6.7a2. Replaying the same song without updating does not remove that software fault.
Changing files before checking the network
Because the documented failure can be an interrupted submission, editing or relocating local files can add risk without addressing the cause. Start with the version, filter, connection, and log checks.
What to include when asking for support
If the score still does not appear after the documented checks, make the report actionable. Include the Synth Riders version, Steam Frame build context, song title, difficulty, selected modifiers, approximate completion time, whether the score summary finished, what SELF plus COMBINED displayed, and whether synthriderz.com showed the entry.

Attach the relevant ErrorLog.txt lines without rewriting their wording. Also describe whether the game was connected throughout the run and whether the router applies filtering or access controls. These details let support distinguish a version defect, a hidden modifier result, and a failed network submission.
Bottom line
Update Synth Riders to 3.6.7a2 or later, complete a song while online, wait for the score summary, and verify it under SELF plus COMBINED. If that view is empty, investigate the connection, router access, and ErrorLog.txt; then use synthriderz.com as a near-real-time cross-check. A score shown locally, or hidden by MODIFIERS, is not the same as a confirmed global submission.
