Make Fuel in a Firewood Shed: the documented recipe turns 2 Firewood into 20 Fuel. Place the shed in the same area as the equipment it should supply. Yard stations use a shed in the yard; the kitchen oven inside the house needs its own shed indoors.
Make Fuel in a Firewood Shed
- Unlock and build a Firewood Shed. An unofficial game-data reference lists the Firewood Shed I unlock under Bronze Melting and its build cost as 10 Sticks and 2 Bronze Nails. Check your current technology and building menus, since game updates may change these details.
- Put Firewood in the shed. Its listed conversion is 2 Firewood to 20 Fuel, and Firewood Shed I holds up to 100 Fuel.
- Place the shed in the equipment’s area. The documented same-area rule means a shed in the yard supplies yard equipment, while an indoor kitchen oven needs a shed inside the house.
- Open the station’s recipe and check the Fuel requirement shown in-game before starting production.
The Firewood Shed is the production step: putting Firewood directly into a furnace, Kiln, Distillation Cube, or kitchen oven does not make it available as Fuel.

Supply the furnace, Kiln, and kitchen oven
Yard equipment
For a furnace or Kiln in the yard, place a Firewood Shed in the yard and make sure it contains Fuel. The same-area rule is the key placement check if a station cannot draw from the shed.
Kitchen oven
An outdoor shed will not supply the oven inside the house. Build or place a separate Firewood Shed indoors, then put Firewood into it to produce Fuel for the kitchen oven.

Why a station may not run
- No Fuel at the kitchen oven: Check for a Firewood Shed inside the house. A yard shed is not an indoor supply.
- The furnace or Kiln will not start: Confirm a shed is in the yard area and contains Fuel, then check the recipe’s current Fuel requirement.
- The required amount differs from an older guide: Update 1.008, announced October 2, 2026, rebalanced Kiln and Furnace crafting and fuel costs. Use the amount shown by the current in-game recipe rather than relying on older cost figures.
- Your shed unlock or build cost differs: The listed unlock and material costs come from an unofficial game-data reference, so verify them in the current technology and building screens.
Version and source notes
The conversion, capacity, unlock, build cost, and area-placement details above are from an unofficial Graveyard Keeper 2 game-data wiki inspected October 8, 2026. A separate guide for PC update 1.007 also describes the indoor shed requirement, but it predates update 1.008. The developer’s Steam announcement confirms the later Furnace and Kiln cost rebalance; it does not provide a reason to assume older recipe amounts still apply.
