If you are trying to log in to Discord with an account token, there is an important limitation: Discord does not provide an official token-login method for its mobile app, desktop app, or web client. The normal Discord login screen accepts an email address or a verified phone number and password. You can also approve a desktop or browser login by scanning its QR code from the Discord mobile app.
A Discord user token is not an alternative password, and Discord does not document a token field, token command, token URL, or supported Developer Tools method for signing in. Treat websites, scripts, modified clients, or messages asking for your token as a security risk.
Can you log in to Discord with a user token?
No. There is no supported way to paste a normal Discord user account token into the Android app, iPhone app, Discord desktop app, or Discord web login page.
Discord’s documented account-login methods are:
- Email address and password
- A verified phone number and password
- QR-code approval from an already logged-in Discord mobile app
Token authentication belongs to Discord’s bot and API systems. Using a normal user account token to automate a personal account—often called a self-bot—is prohibited and can result in the account being terminated. Do not follow guides that tell you to paste a token into a browser console, install a token-login script, or use an unofficial client.

How to log in to Discord on a PC or in a browser
- Open the Discord desktop application, or visit discord.com/login.
- In the first field, enter the account’s email address or officially verified phone number.
- Enter the account password in the second field.
- Complete any CAPTCHA or multi-factor authentication prompt that appears.
Phone-number login works only when the number has already been verified on that Discord account. A landline, burner number, or VoIP number cannot be used for Discord phone verification.
If Discord asks for an authenticator code
After accepting the password, Discord may request a code from your authenticator app. Enter the current one-time code and select Confirm. If you cannot access the authenticator app, Discord’s MFA flow may allow you to enter a one-time backup code instead.
How to log in to Discord on a phone
- Open the Discord mobile app.
- Enter the account email address or officially verified phone number.
- Enter the password.
- Complete CAPTCHA or MFA verification if Discord requests it.
The mobile app also provides the QR scanner used to approve a login on another device.

QR login is the closest official alternative to typing credentials on a PC. It does not use a user token. Instead, an already authenticated mobile app approves the login shown on the computer.

- Open Discord on your desktop computer or go to the Discord login page in a browser. Leave the QR code visible.
- Open the Discord mobile app and make sure you are already logged in.
- Tap your profile avatar in the bottom-right corner.
- Tap the cogwheel in the top-right corner to open User Settings.
- Under Account Settings, select Scan QR Code.
- Point the phone’s camera at the QR code displayed by the desktop app or browser.
- Check the verification prompt on your phone. Tap Log in to approve it, or Cancel to reject it.
Scanning the code alone is not enough. The login is completed only after you review the prompt and tap Log in.
QR-code expiration and safety
A Discord login QR code is valid for two minutes. If it expires, refresh the desktop or browser login screen to generate a new code.
Only scan a QR code displayed by your own Discord desktop app or browser login page. Never approve a code sent by another person or displayed on an unrelated website. Discord specifically advises tapping Cancel when you did not generate the QR code yourself. A malicious QR code can be used to authorize an account session.
What to do if you already approved an unauthorized QR login
Change your Discord password immediately. Discord states that changing the password logs out all devices, including unapproved sessions.

- On desktop or the web, open User Settings → My Account → Change Password.
- On mobile, tap your avatar, tap the cogwheel, then go to Account under Account Settings and select Password → Change Password.
- After changing the password, sign in again using the official login form.
Do not share the token, password, backup codes, or authenticator codes while investigating the incident. If a token was exposed, changing the password is the practical account-protection step described by Discord for invalidating active sessions.
Forgotten Discord password
If you do not know the password, use Discord’s password-reset process rather than searching for a token-login workaround:
- Open the Discord login screen.
- Enter the email address associated with the account.
- Select Forgot your password?
- Use the reset link sent to your email and create a new password.
Discord Support cannot manually reset the password for you. If you no longer have access to the account email, account recovery may be limited.

- Browser Developer Tools or a JavaScript console
- A token-checking or token-login website
- A downloaded script or modified Discord client
- A message, form, or “verification” bot
Those instructions are not part of Discord’s documented login process. They can expose the account, allow another person to use the session, or lead to account enforcement. If you need to sign in, use the email/phone-and-password form or the official QR approval flow.

Can I log in to Discord with a token on mobile?

What is the safe alternative to token login?
Use Discord’s QR login. On mobile, go to profile avatar → cogwheel → Account Settings → Scan QR Code, scan the code shown by your own desktop or browser login screen, and tap Log in on the phone.
Why does my Discord QR code not work?
A QR code is valid for two minutes. Refresh the Discord login page or desktop login screen to generate a new one. Also make sure you approve the prompt on the mobile app after scanning.
What should I do if I entered my token on a website?
