To list a Hytale server, sign in to the Hytale Account Manager, open Server Profiles, choose Create server, complete the listing, and submit it for moderation. After approval, use the discovery token on the listing card to configure server heartbeats. A listing that stops sending heartbeats for more than two minutes is hidden until the server is heard from again.
What Hytale Server Discovery is
Hytale describes Server Discovery as “an in-game server list for community-run Hytale servers.” It is intended to give players one official place inside Hytale to find community servers rather than relying only on external directories, Discord posts, or word of mouth. Hytale’s operator-side listing tools are available ahead of the in-game browser, which is scheduled to ship with Update 5, according to the April 28, 2026 announcement.

The profile must pass moderation, and an approved listing must remain connected to a live server through discovery heartbeats. Discovery is therefore both a directory submission and an ongoing technical integration.
What you need before creating a listing
Prepare the information and access below before opening the Account Manager:

- Access to the Hytale account that will manage the server profile.
- A clear server name that players can recognize and search for.
- A description explaining the server’s gameplay, community focus, rules, and notable features.
- One server-type classification.
- An audience classification: Everyone, Teen, or Mature.
- The regions your server serves. Hytale provides ten regional choices spanning North America, South America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Oceania.
- The server host or domain information you plan to list.
- Access to DNS management if you want to verify a domain with a TXT record.
- A reliable way to keep the server reachable and send heartbeats after approval.
Use wording that describes the actual server. A polished profile cannot compensate for an inaccurate audience tag, an unsuitable region selection, unsupported software, or a server that repeatedly disappears from the network.
How to submit a Hytale server listing
1. Open Server Profiles in Account Manager
- Sign in to the Hytale Account Manager.
- Open Server Profiles.
- Click Create server.
This is the official starting point for a Discovery listing. Third-party server directories are not a substitute for the Hytale profile and moderation workflow.
2. Enter the name and description
Write the name exactly as players should see it. Avoid a string of keywords that makes the listing difficult to read. The description should quickly answer the questions a prospective player has:
- What kind of experience does the server provide?
- What activities or progression systems are central to it?
- Who is the intended audience?
- What behavior or rules are important to joining players?
Players can search by server name or description, so include meaningful terms naturally. Do not promise features, moderation standards, uptime, or content that the server does not actually provide.
3. Select one server type
Choose the category that best represents the server’s primary experience:

Pick one type rather than trying to represent every activity the server offers. A precise category helps players filter results and gives moderators a clearer description of the listing.

4. Choose the audience tag
Select Everyone, Teen, or Mature according to the content and community environment players will encounter. Treat the tag as a content and conduct disclosure, not as a way to maximize exposure. The selected audience also affects advertising and monetization obligations under Hytale’s operator policies.
5. Choose the regions served
Select the regional options that accurately describe where your server is intended to serve players. Hytale provides ten choices covering North America, South America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Oceania. Region tags are useful for discovery and latency expectations, so do not select every region merely to appear in more filters if the server is not suitable for those players.
6. Decide whether to verify a domain
Hytale can verify a domain by asking you to publish a TXT record. The Account Manager supplies the record value and the host information to use. Add that record through your DNS provider, then return to the profile and complete verification according to the status shown there.
Verification demonstrates control of the listed host and removes the profile from Pending verification when successful. Hytale also permits an IP-based listing or a listing that skips verification, which can be practical for a small personal server, but the unverified profile does not receive the same verification signal.

Do not invent a TXT value or copy one from another server. Use the exact record Hytale supplies for your profile. DNS changes can take time to become visible; if the Account Manager still reports a pending state, confirm the record name, value, record type, and DNS zone before changing anything else.
7. Submit the profile for moderation
Review the name, description, type, audience, region selections, and host information, then submit the listing. Every submission enters a moderation queue. An accepted listing is prepared for the in-game browser when Discovery launches; acceptance is not the same as a guarantee that the server will remain listed indefinitely.

If Hytale denies the submission, read the stated reason, correct the profile or server issue, and resubmit. Do not create multiple near-identical profiles to bypass a decision. Keep a record of the change you made so you can tell whether the revised submission addresses the moderation concern.
Domain verification, IP listings, and pending status

A profile left in Pending verification for more than 30 days is removed. If you need the listing, finish verification or correct the host details before that period expires rather than assuming the pending profile will remain available.

Connect an approved listing with the discovery token
Approval is followed by a separate server-connection step. Open the accepted listing card in Account Manager and copy the discovery token shown there. Configure your server integration to send discovery heartbeats with that token.
The token authenticates the heartbeat for the listing. Hytale also uses heartbeat information to carry server version or patch-line data for compatibility checks. The token is therefore an operational credential, not a value to publish in a server description, screenshot, Discord message, or public configuration example.
No universal command, configuration-file path, or hosting-panel control is specified for installing the token. Use the integration method provided for your server software or hosting environment, and keep the token secret. If you replace the server instance, change the host, or rotate credentials, verify that the new process is sending heartbeats for the same approved listing.
Why a server disappears from Discovery
No heartbeat for more than two minutes
Hytale hides a listing when it has not received a heartbeat for more than two minutes. This is an availability safeguard, not a permanent deletion. Once the server resumes valid heartbeats, the listing can become visible again.

Check the following in order:
- Confirm the server process is running and reachable from the network.
- Confirm the heartbeat component is running alongside the server rather than only during manual testing.
- Check that the discovery token belongs to the accepted listing.
- Review outbound firewall, NAT, proxy, or container rules that could block heartbeat traffic.
- Check server logs for authentication failures, malformed requests, or version incompatibility.
- Restart the heartbeat component after correcting the configuration and allow enough time for a fresh heartbeat.
Plan for restarts, updates, and host maintenance. A server that is playable for users but cannot reach the Discovery service can still be hidden.
Unsupported version or patch line
Hytale’s operator requirements include using currently supported game versions. Heartbeat data includes version or patch-line information used for compatibility checks, so an outdated server can fail the operational requirements even when its listing text is accurate. Patch the server promptly, verify that the heartbeat integration reports the new version, and test again after maintenance.
Moderation or policy problems
A listing can be denied or remain unavailable when its profile, server operation, or monetization conflicts with the operator requirements. Read the specific moderation reason rather than repeatedly resubmitting unchanged information. Correct the relevant server or profile issue, then submit the revised listing.
Technical and operational requirements
The Hytale Server Operator Policies, effective January 13, 2026, treat Discovery as an official directory or in-game surface operated by Hytale to help players find servers. Listed servers must meet minimum technical requirements, use currently supported game versions, maintain reasonable crash-rate thresholds, and follow basic security practices.
- Apply security updates and supported game patches in a timely way.
- Use reasonable protection against abuse and attacks.
- Keep crash rates within the thresholds Hytale requires.
- Operate a server that can maintain the heartbeat expectation during normal service.
- Make the listing’s audience and description consistent with the actual experience.
Operators must also comply with applicable consumer-protection, advertising, tax, and payment laws. Being accepted into Discovery does not replace those legal obligations.

If players can spend money on the server, make the offer truthful, clearly described, and lawful. Hytale’s policy adds specific requirements based on the audience tag:

These rules concern how the server operates, not just what appears in its Discovery card. Review shop pages, promotional messages, purchase flows, and records together before submitting a monetized server.

The initial Discovery experience centers on searchable server metadata:
- Server name
- Description
- Server type
- Audience tag
- Region
Players can search by server name or description, filter by type, audience, and region, and open a server profile before joining. Hytale says the initial version does not include live player counts, ratings, custom icons, banners, or rich media. Do not write your profile as though those elements will appear; put the important information in the name, description, and supported filters.
Hytale says sorting will include featured servers, overall likes, and personal favorites. The Discovery API exists, but Hytale says it is not a public integration target in the initial version. An operator should therefore use the official listing workflow rather than planning an external application around an unpublished API integration.
Choosing between an unverified and verified listing
The right choice depends on the server’s scale and operating discipline:
- Choose domain verification when you control a stable domain and want players to see a control-of-host signal.
- Use an IP listing when the server is deliberately operated at a stable address and a domain is unnecessary.
- Skip verification only when the reduced trust signal is acceptable, such as for a small personal server.
Verification does not replace uptime, moderation approval, or policy compliance. It is one trust indicator among several; a verified profile can still be hidden when heartbeats stop or requirements are not met.
Pre-submission checklist
- Account Manager access works for the account that will manage the profile.
- The server name is readable and matches the community’s actual identity.
- The description explains the real gameplay and community experience.
- Exactly one server type is selected.
- The audience tag matches the content and conduct players will encounter.
- Only genuinely served regions are selected.
- The domain TXT record is added if verification is being used.
- The host or IP information is current.
- The server meets supported-version, crash-rate, and security expectations.
- Monetization, advertising, odds disclosures, and records meet the operator policy.
- A plan exists to keep the server and heartbeat process online after approval.
Post-approval maintenance checklist
- Copy the discovery token from the approved listing card and configure the heartbeat integration.
- Keep the token private and restrict access to the operators who need it.
- Monitor heartbeat success after restarts, patches, migrations, and host changes.
- Keep the server on a currently supported Hytale version.
- Watch crash behavior and address recurring failures before they affect availability.
- Maintain security controls and abuse or attack mitigation.
- Update the profile when the server’s audience, gameplay, region coverage, or host changes materially.
- Review monetization and advertising whenever the audience classification or purchase system changes.

Bottom line for server operators
Start at Account Manager → Server Profiles → Create server, create an accurate profile, verify a domain when you can, and submit it for moderation. Once accepted, connect the listing with its discovery token and treat heartbeat reliability, supported versions, security, crash performance, and lawful monetization as ongoing operating requirements. Discovery rewards a server that is both easy to understand and consistently available; a profile alone is not enough.
