There is no single UIDAI screen that lists every government service or database connected to your Aadhaar. Each department keeps its own records. To link Aadhaar correctly, use the process belonging to the service: the Income Tax Department for PAN, your bank and the NPCI mapper for Aadhaar-based Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), and the implementing department for other schemes.
You can review Aadhaar authentication events in UIDAI’s official service flow, but authentication history is not a complete inventory of every record that contains your Aadhaar number. Portal names and app screens can change, so use the current official instructions rather than an old screenshot or a third-party “linked services” checker.
What “link Aadhaar” can mean
The phrase describes several different operations. Treating them as one universal process is the main reason people check the wrong portal or misunderstand a status message.

UIDAI says an Aadhaar use case must be authorised under the Aadhaar Act and notified by the relevant ministry or department. UIDAI also says it cannot see service-level linking between Aadhaar and other databases. The department operating the service is therefore the authority for its own records and status.

This distinction matters when a person sees several apparently related messages. A successful PAN validation does not show that a bank account is seeded. An NPCI mapper entry does not prove that a ration or employment scheme has accepted an application. An authentication event shows a transaction, not necessarily a permanent link or current eligibility.
Before you start: identify the exact service
- Write down the service, benefit, account, or application you want to connect.
- Use only the service’s official portal, office, bank branch, or helpline. A general Aadhaar page cannot substitute for a department’s enrolment system.
- Keep your Aadhaar number, PAN or account details, and the mobile number registered with Aadhaar available when the service requires them.
- Decide whether you need a link, an authentication, or DBT bank seeding. They produce different records and different status messages.
- Note the application, acknowledgement, or bank reference number. It helps the responsible office trace a pending or failed request.
Some online Aadhaar services require an OTP sent to the registered mobile, while other services may be available without that mobile number. Do not assume that inability to receive an OTP means the underlying scheme has no Aadhaar record; ask the scheme or provider about its alternative channel.
How to link Aadhaar with PAN
PAN linking is handled by the Income Tax Department, not by a general UIDAI “linked services” list.
Submit the linking request
- Open the official Income Tax Department e-Filing portal.
- Choose the Link Aadhaar service.
- Enter your PAN and Aadhaar details exactly as requested.
- Submit the validation request and complete any verification, including an OTP, that the current portal displays.
- Save the acknowledgement or on-screen result until the request reaches a final status.
Portal labels can vary. The Income Tax Department manual describes both an online linking request and a separate pre-login status check. If the portal asks for additional information or presents a payment or verification step, follow the current on-screen instructions rather than relying on a copied sequence.
Check Aadhaar–PAN status without signing in
- On the e-Filing portal, open the quick link labelled Link Aadhaar/View Status or Link Aadhaar Status.
- Enter the PAN and Aadhaar numbers.
- Submit the status request.
- Read the result as a validation outcome: successful validation, a request pending with UIDAI, or failed validation.
A pending result means the request is still being validated. Check again later instead of submitting repeated requests, which can make it harder to identify the active request. A status page is evidence about the PAN–Aadhaar request only; it does not certify that other government records contain the same Aadhaar number.
Fix a failed PAN link
Start with the demographic data held in both records:
- Date of birth must match exactly.
- Gender must match exactly.
- A small name difference may allow Aadhaar OTP verification, if the portal offers that option.
- A substantial name difference generally requires correction in Aadhaar or PAN before linking.
If you have corrected the details and the request still fails, the UIDAI guidance says to contact the Income Tax Department. Do not assume that an Aadhaar authentication-history entry means the PAN link succeeded; those are separate events. If the portal shows a pending UIDAI validation, wait for that validation to finish before trying another request.

How to link a bank account for Aadhaar-based DBT
For government benefits paid through Aadhaar-based Direct Benefit Transfer, the bank carries out the linking and seeds the chosen account in the NPCI mapper. UIDAI does not perform that bank mapping itself.
Request bank seeding
- Contact the bank where the account is held, using the branch or channel the bank accepts for Aadhaar seeding.
- Request Aadhaar linking for DBT and complete the bank’s mandate and consent form.
- Specify the account you want used for benefits and provide the requested identity and account information.
- Ask the bank when the seeding request has been submitted to the NPCI mapper.
- Keep the acknowledgement or reference supplied by the bank.
If you hold several accounts, UIDAI says only one account receives Aadhaar-based DBT at a time, according to the choice recorded in the mandate. Opening or linking another account does not automatically make all accounts eligible to receive the same payment. If you want to change the receiving account, give the bank a new mandate and ask how it will update the mapper record.
Check bank seeding status
You can check the mapper status through the bank-seeding route in myAadhaar or through NPCI’s BASE status service. The UIDAI route retrieves the status from NPCI; UIDAI says it does not store that result or take responsibility for its correctness.
A missing, outdated, or conflicting result should be raised with the bank that accepted your mandate. Ask the bank to verify both its internal Aadhaar-seeding record and the NPCI mapper entry. The mapper status is not proof that a particular scheme has approved your benefit: eligibility and payment remain the responsibility of the scheme department.
When speaking to the bank, distinguish “Aadhaar recorded in the customer profile” from “account seeded in the NPCI mapper for DBT.” Those may be handled by different internal steps. Keep the date of your consent and any acknowledgement so the bank can investigate a delay.
How other government schemes use Aadhaar
There is no common “Link Aadhaar” button for every scheme. The implementing department decides whether Aadhaar is:
- Recorded in the scheme’s enrolment database.
- Used to authenticate you when you claim a service or benefit.
- Used with another identity or eligibility method.
- Used to support payment through a bank account seeded for DBT.
UIDAI cites subsidised food through the public distribution system and attendance at MGNREGS worksites as examples where Aadhaar authentication may be used at the point of service or benefit delivery. Those examples do not establish that every record in those programmes is permanently linked in the same way.

Find the correct scheme process
- Identify the department, state authority, or local implementing office responsible for the scheme.
- Open that authority’s current official instructions and look for enrolment, Aadhaar authentication, consent, and status sections.
- Follow the department’s specified portal or visit the designated office if online enrolment is not offered.
- Use the scheme’s own application or beneficiary-status reference to check acceptance, eligibility, or payment.
- Contact the implementing department when the scheme portal and your bank or Aadhaar records disagree.
A successful Aadhaar authentication does not by itself prove scheme eligibility, enrolment, or payment. Conversely, a scheme may hold an Aadhaar reference without producing a recent authentication event. Ask the department what its record means, whether Aadhaar is mandatory for that service, and how to update or withdraw consent where its rules allow.

How to check which services have accessed your Aadhaar
UIDAI does not provide a universal directory of every service, database, or account that contains your Aadhaar number. Departments maintain their own service-level records, and UIDAI says it has no visibility into those links.
Review authentication history
UIDAI lists Check Authentication History as an Aadhaar app feature. Use the official UIDAI app or the current UIDAI service flow and complete the identity checks shown on screen. An authentication-history entry can help you investigate when Aadhaar was used and by which requesting entity as displayed in the current record.
Do not describe authentication history as a complete list of linked services. The official material currently available does not establish a universal retention period or every field that a current entry displays, so do not rely on an assumed look-back window. If an event is unfamiliar, record the date and details shown and ask the named requesting entity for an explanation. The history can show that an authentication transaction occurred even when the department’s separate enrolment or benefit record is not visible to UIDAI.
Understand myAadhaar and the mobile app
myAadhaar is a login-based portal for online Aadhaar services and usually requires Aadhaar plus an OTP sent to the registered mobile number. Some portal services can be available without that registered mobile. The mobile Aadhaar app and myAadhaar are different access channels; follow the current labels in the app or portal rather than an old screenshot.

Screens can change, so treat those as the general sequence and follow the live app prompts. Never disclose the PIN or OTP to someone claiming to “help” with the check.
Check the service’s own records
For a PAN, bank account, ration record, employment record, or other benefit, sign in to the responsible department’s portal or contact its help channel. Ask specifically whether Aadhaar is recorded, whether authentication is required, and how to withdraw or update consent where the service permits it. Only that authority can confirm its own database status.

Security and safe use
UIDAI describes Aadhaar as a random 12-digit number. Authentication can use biometrics, face authentication, or a mobile OTP, depending on the service and method offered.
UIDAI’s published FAQ states: Just by knowing your Aadhaar number or Aadhaar linked bank account, no one can withdraw money from Aadhaar linked bank account.
This is a narrow UIDAI statement about withdrawing money merely by knowing those details; it is not a promise that every form of identity misuse is impossible.

- Enter Aadhaar details only on the official department, bank, NPCI, or UIDAI channel you intentionally opened.
- Never share an OTP, biometric authentication request, or app PIN with a caller or intermediary.
- Check the name of the requesting service before approving an authentication prompt.
- Keep bank account and Aadhaar contact details current so that alerts and verification messages reach you.
- If an authentication event or service record is not yours, contact the requesting department and your bank promptly, and preserve the displayed reference details.

These are complementary checks, not interchangeable proof. A person may need to complete all three types of check: confirm PAN validation with Income Tax, confirm mapper seeding with the bank or NPCI route, and confirm beneficiary approval with the scheme department.

The portal says details do not match
Compare the exact date of birth, gender, and name in the two records. Correct the record that is wrong, wait for the correction to become effective, and then retry the service’s process. A minor name mismatch may be handled by Aadhaar OTP verification where offered; a major mismatch usually cannot.
The request is pending
For PAN linking, wait for UIDAI validation and check the status later. Avoid repeated submissions. For bank seeding, ask the bank whether the mandate was accepted and sent to NPCI, then recheck the mapper status.
The bank says linked, but DBT is not received
Bank seeding is only one part of a benefit payment. Confirm the NPCI mapper status, then check the scheme’s eligibility, beneficiary approval, payment cycle, and account details with the implementing department.

An authentication entry is unfamiliar
Save the date and requesting-entity information shown in the official history. Contact that entity and the relevant department. If a bank account or benefit may be affected, notify the bank as well. Authentication history alone cannot identify every database in which Aadhaar is recorded.

You cannot find a service in authentication history
That absence does not prove that the department has no Aadhaar record. The service may use a stored Aadhaar reference without a new authentication event, or it may use another approved process. Ask the department directly how it records Aadhaar and how to view or correct that record.

UIDAI authentication history can help you review authentication events, but no UIDAI screen provides a universal list of all services that hold or have linked your Aadhaar.
