The safest way to kill a Skulker in ARC Raiders is to keep it visible, fight from hard cover, break its legs, then concentrate precision fire on its body. Do not chase it around corners: losing visual contact lets this small ARC retreat and prepare another ambush. The Anvil, Renegade, and Osprey are practical precision choices, while a heavy-ammo weapon can finish the machine after it deploys its turret.
What makes the Skulker dangerous
The Skulker is a small, fast ground ARC introduced with the Frozen Trail update on Pendola Pass. It waits near the edge of vision, attacks with rapid blows or short bursts of fire, and retreats when players lose track of it. Its size and speed make it difficult to hit, but its repositioning behavior is the larger threat: a Skulker that disappears can attack from a new angle while your squad is distracted.
The Arc Raiders enemy database summarizes the essential counterplay: “Keep eyes on it. If you lose sight of it, it retreats and sets up the next ambush. Check corners, stay with your squad and finish it quickly once it commits to an attack.” Treat that as the fight’s central rule.

1. Establish cover without losing sight
Choose a wall, crate, or other hard cover that blocks the Skulker’s firing lane while leaving you a view of its approach. Peek from cover rather than standing in the open. Tell teammates where it is so everyone watches the same angles.

Never sprint after it through a doorway or around a blind corner. If it breaks line of sight, pause, check nearby corners and peripheral angles, and let it reveal its next approach instead of walking into an ambush.
2. Wait for a committed attack or turret deployment
The Skulker is more difficult to damage while it is darting around. Its attack commitment creates a more predictable aiming window. A deployed turret also gives you a clearer opportunity to engage, although the machine remains killable with heavy ammunition before or during that state.

3. Shoot the legs first
Aim at the leg components before trying to burn down the body. Breaking or damaging the legs pins or slows the Skulker, reducing the movement that makes its small frame hard to track. This is the practical weak-point sequence: disable mobility first, then deal damage while it cannot reposition as easily.
4. Burst the body with precision fire
Once the legs are damaged, use short, controlled bursts against the body. The Anvil, Renegade, and Osprey are cited precision options for this leg-then-body approach. They are examples of suitable weapons, not proof that one has the highest damage in every loadout or situation.

5. Finish and regroup
Do not stop after partially disabling it. Finish the Skulker while it is committed, then regroup with the squad and scan for another ARC or a second attack angle. Staying together prevents a repositioned enemy from exploiting a player who is isolated or reloading.

Where to find Skulkers
Skulkers are associated with Pendola Pass. If you are completing the Tracks of the Beast quest, the northern tracks and Almatera Station are useful places to search. They are small and easy to miss, so listen for the characteristic beep while checking the edges of your vision.

This route is hunting context rather than a guaranteed spawn table. No confirmed spawn timer or complete map-wide spawn list is established, so a failed search does not mean the enemy should appear on a predictable schedule. Move carefully, keep your squad close, and avoid making noise or movement that causes you to lose track of a nearby machine.

Skulker Targeter reward
Guides report a Skulker Targeter as an item obtained from defeating the enemy. The available information does not confirm its drop percentage, whether every kill awards one, or a complete loot table. Treat it as a reported reward rather than a guaranteed result from each encounter.
Common mistakes and fixes
- Chasing around a corner: stop at the corner, preserve cover, and wait for the Skulker to reappear.
- Firing at the body first: target the legs to reduce movement before committing to body damage.
- Splitting the squad: call its position and maintain overlapping sightlines so it cannot ambush an isolated player.
- Using scarce precision ammunition too early: wait for an attack commitment, and switch to heavy ammunition if the turret is deployed and a fast finish is necessary.
- Assuming a fixed spawn: search Pendola Pass’s northern tracks and Almatera Station route, but do not rely on an unverified timer.
What is still unknown
No authoritative combat figures are established for the Skulker’s hit points, component damage multipliers, exact time to disable, or Targeter drop rate. Those values can vary by game version or encounter conditions, so they should not be treated as confirmed strategy requirements. The reliable fundamentals are visual contact, hard cover, leg damage, a focused body burst, and coordinated finishing pressure.
