To remove a player from an Arma Reforger server, authenticate as an administrator, run #players to find the player’s ID, then use #kick <playerId>. A kick only disconnects the player. For a temporary or permanent ban on a dedicated server, use #ban create <playerId or identityId> <durationInSeconds> <reason>; use 0 seconds for a permanent ban. RCON lets an authorized operator run the same management commands remotely.
The exact command works only for an account with the required administrator or RCON permissions. Players on official servers who are not administrators cannot issue these commands and should use the game’s report or vote-kick features instead.

Kick a connected player in game
The built-in kick workflow is a short, three-command process: log in, identify the player, and kick the correct ID. Do not substitute a display name when the command expects a numeric player ID.
1. Authenticate as an administrator
Open the in-game chat or console and enter:
#login <password>Replace <password> with the server’s configured passwordAdmin. An administrator already listed in the server configuration can log in without supplying that password. If authentication fails, check that you are using the administrative password rather than the server’s normal join password and that your account is actually authorized.

2. List players and their IDs
#playersThe command returns the connected players and their playerId values. Record the ID belonging to the person you intend to remove. Names can be similar, can contain unusual characters, and can change; the ID shown by #players is the reliable value for the kick command.
3. Kick the player
#kick <playerId>For example:
#kick 123456789The server ejects that player from the current session. A kick is not a ban: the player can immediately attempt to join again unless you create a ban separately.
Ban a player on a dedicated server
Use the dedicated-server ban command when you need to prevent a player from reconnecting for a defined period or indefinitely. The command takes a target identifier, a duration in seconds, and an optional reason.
#ban create <playerId or identityId or 1.2.0 playerName> <durationInSeconds> <reason (optional)>Temporary ban
A one-hour ban is 3,600 seconds:
#ban create 123456789 3600Use the duration that matches your moderation policy. The duration is expressed in seconds, not minutes, hours, or days.
Permanent ban
Set the duration to 0 for a ban that does not expire:

Append a reason after the duration:
#ban create 123456789 3600 Team-killingKeep reasons factual and consistent. A short reason helps other administrators understand the decision and gives you an audit trail when reviewing a ban later. Avoid including private information in a reason that may be visible to other operators.

A current playerId is tied to the player’s present connection. If the offender leaves before you issue the ban, use the player’s identityId instead. The identity ID is the persistent identifier intended for this situation; a name alone is less dependable because names can be changed or duplicated.
Review and remove bans
List existing bans
Display the ban list with:
#ban listYou can request a specific page:
#ban list 2The official management reference documents different page limits by access method: RCON can display 25 bans per page, while the in-game interface displays 10. If a ban is not visible on the first page, check later pages before assuming it was not saved.
Remove a ban
To unban a player, provide the ban’s identityId:
#ban remove <identityId>Obtain the exact identity value from the ban list. Removing a ban changes the server’s ban records; it does not automatically reconnect a player who is currently offline. The player must join again normally after the ban is removed.

Server configuration can define RCON access, administrator or monitor permissions, and command allowlists or blocklists. A monitor account is intended for observation and should not be treated as an account that can safely perform state-changing actions such as kicking or banning. If a valid command is rejected, inspect the configured role and command filters before changing the syntax.

Use RCON without joining the game
RCON is the practical option for an owner or moderator who needs to administer a dedicated server remotely. Configure RCON on the server, create an account with the required administrative permission, and connect with an RCON client that supports Arma Reforger’s command interface. The client must use the server’s configured RCON authentication details.
Remote kick workflow
- Connect to the server’s RCON endpoint with an account permitted to run management commands.
- Run
#playersand copy the target’s currentplayerId. - Run
#kick <playerId>. - Check the response and, if needed, run
#playersagain to confirm that the connection has ended.
Remote ban workflow
- Authenticate through RCON with an administrator-level account, not a monitor-only account.
- Use
#playersif the player is still connected; otherwise obtain the player’sidentityIdfrom your records or the ban-management context. - Run
#ban create <identifier> <durationInSeconds> <reason>. - Run
#ban listto verify that the entry appears.
RCON does not bypass server security. An incorrect password, a blocked command, a monitor role, or a network rule can all prevent a command from running. Protect RCON credentials and limit access to trusted administrators because a permitted remote session can change the live server state.
Kick versus ban: choose the least disruptive action

Record the identifier, time, action, and reason in your moderation log. This is especially useful when several administrators share access or when a temporary ban later needs review.

Community-server bans are generally issued by that server’s own administrators. If you are an ordinary player, the commands above will not grant authority: attempting #login, #kick, or #ban without permission will fail.
Use an enabled vote kick
Some servers enable an in-game vote-kick feature. Follow the vote prompt and provide a clear, truthful reason. Vote-kick availability and thresholds depend on the server, so the option may not appear in every match.

Report an incident on an official server
For incidents on an official server, use the in-game reporting path or the reporting channel identified by Bohemia Interactive. Include the player’s in-game name, server name, approximate incident time, a factual description of the behavior, and any available evidence. This information lets moderators identify the correct session and distinguish a mistake from deliberate abuse.
Understand BattlEye bans
A BattlEye ban is different from a ban imposed by an individual community server administrator. BattlEye bans apply globally across BattlEye-protected servers and are handled by BattlEye’s enforcement process, not by a local server’s #ban remove command.
Optional administration mod
A Workshop administration mod may add name-based shortcuts and day-based commands. The AdminCommandsByCryneX listing documents commands including:
#ac players#kick <PlayerName|ID>#ban <PlayerName|ID> <Days>#pban <PlayerName|ID>#ban list#unban <PlayerName|BanID>
The listing identifies game version 1.8.0.13. Check that the mod supports the server’s current game version and that every participant or server configuration requirement is satisfied before relying on it. Mod commands are not substitutes for the built-in syntax: they can use different identifiers, duration units, permissions, and persistence rules.

“Unknown command” or no response
- Confirm that the command begins with the correct
#prefix. - Check spelling and spacing, especially
#ban createversus#ban. - Verify that you are using a dedicated-server context for the built-in ban command.
- Inspect command allowlists or blocklists in the server configuration.
Permission denied
- Authenticate with
#login <password>using the configuredpasswordAdmin. - Ask the owner to confirm that your account is listed as an administrator or has RCON administrator permissions.
- Do not rely on a monitor role for commands that alter player state.
The player reconnects immediately
You used #kick, which only disconnects the current session. Create a ban with the appropriate duration if the player must be prevented from returning.

The ban does not affect a player who left
A disconnected player no longer has a current playerId. Issue the ban against the correct identityId instead.
The ban is not visible
Run #ban list and check additional pages with #ban list 2 or later. Remember that the in-game view shows 10 bans per page while RCON can show 25.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I ban a player by name?
The built-in dedicated-server syntax documents a player name format, but a current player ID or persistent identity ID is safer. Use the identity ID when the player has disconnected.
Does kicking someone notify them of a ban?
No. #kick only ends the current connection; it does not create a ban.
Can RCON unban a player?
Yes, if the RCON account has the required administrative permission. Use #ban list to find the ban’s identity ID, then run #ban remove <identityId>.
