To always show uppercase letters on the iPhone’s onscreen keyboard, open Settings > Accessibility > Keyboards & Typing and turn off Show Lowercase Keys. This changes the labels displayed on the keys; it does not make your typed text uppercase.
Make the iPhone onscreen keyboard show uppercase keys
- Open Settings.
- Tap Accessibility, then Keyboards & Typing.
- Turn off Show Lowercase Keys.
The onscreen keyboard will then display uppercase letters rather than lowercase letter labels. Apple documents this option in its iPhone keyboard accessibility settings. Menu presentation or wording can vary by iOS version or region, so look for the setting name if your screen differs.

Showing uppercase keys is not the same as typing in uppercase
The Show Lowercase Keys option affects the keyboard’s appearance only. To type a capital letter, tap Shift before typing it. To keep capitalization on, double-tap Shift to turn on Caps Lock, as described in Apple’s onscreen keyboard guide.
For a Magic Keyboard connected to iPhone
If you mean a connected Magic Keyboard rather than the onscreen keyboard, Apple documents separate Auto-Capitalization and Auto-Correction options for that hardware keyboard. These are typing-assistance settings; they do not change the onscreen keyboard’s key labels. See Apple’s instructions for Magic Keyboard typing assistance options.
