To keep Galaxy Buds from falling out, first identify the model, attach its supplied tips or wingtips correctly, match each bud to the right ear, and gently rotate it into a comfortable position. If it still feels loose, try another supplied size. Fit parts and wearing instructions differ by model, so a method that works for one pair may not fit another.
Start with your exact Galaxy Buds model
Check the model name before changing tips or wingtips. Samsung’s instructions distinguish among rubber ear tips, wingtips and open-fit designs; those parts are not interchangeable across the Galaxy Buds line.

The fit-test availability above reflects Samsung’s current US support list, which names Buds4 Pro, Buds3 Pro, Buds2 Pro and Buds2. Samsung’s model-specific wearing guidance is available for Buds2 Pro and Buds2, Buds4 and Buds4 Pro, selected Galaxy Buds models, Buds Live and Buds and Buds+.

Reseat the earbuds and adjust the fit
- Check the markings. Put the left bud in your left ear and the right bud in your right ear.
- Check the attached parts. Make sure each ear tip or wingtip supplied for your model is attached and seated properly. For Buds2 and Buds2 Pro, Samsung advises against wearing them without ear tips.
- Insert gently and rotate. For Buds2 and Buds2 Pro, insert the bud along the direction of the ear canal and rotate it until it sits comfortably. For Buds4, angle the blade so the microphone points toward your mouth, then rotate forward or backward to find a comfortable position.
- Try another supplied size. A loose feel may improve with a different tip or wingtip size. Your ears may need different sizes, so assess each side separately rather than assuming both should match.
For Buds4 Pro, select an ear tip size that leaves no gap and make sure the tip is attached correctly. On wingtip models, follow the model’s attachment and orientation guidance rather than trying to force a rubber tip or wing from another model.

Run a fit test if your model supports it
Samsung’s US support instructions list Buds4 Pro, Buds3 Pro, Buds2 Pro and Buds2 for the earbud fit test. It can help identify a poor seal, but it is not available for every Galaxy Buds model.
- Connect the earbuds to your phone.
- Open the Galaxy Wearable app and go to Earbuds settings.
- Select Earbud fit test and start the test.
- If the result says Poor fit, adjust the earbuds and run the test again.

Clean debris without damaging the earbuds
Debris around an earbud can interfere with its contact or fit. Samsung recommends using a cotton swab or soft, dry brush to remove visible dirt. Do not use a metal or wire brush: it can damage the mesh or other components. If an ear tip or wingtip is missing or worn, look for a replacement explicitly listed as compatible with your exact Galaxy Buds model. Samsung’s wearing instructions show that fit components differ between models; the cited guidance does not establish that third-party parts fit universally. Confirm the model compatibility before purchasing.

Stop if you feel pain or irritation
Do not keep wearing earbuds that cause ear pain or skin irritation. Samsung advises discontinuing use and consulting a doctor if either occurs.
