To keep a YouTube channel live 24/7 with scheduled video content, schedule the event in YouTube Studio and separately arrange an encoder or cloud service to send and loop the video feed. Scheduling creates the event and its watch page; it does not start or automate the broadcast by itself.
What you need before scheduling a 24/7 stream
First, make sure the channel can livestream. YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance says the channel must be verified, have no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days, and be operated by someone at least 16 years old.
Next, choose how the prerecorded videos will reach YouTube. You can run an encoder on a computer, use compatible standalone encoding hardware, or use a cloud service designed to loop uploaded videos. In every case, something must send the outgoing feed; a scheduled event alone is not that feed.

- In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go live.
- Open the Manage tab and schedule a stream. Enter the event details and choose its visibility.
- Share the event URL if you want viewers to know about it in advance. Scheduling makes the watch page available for promotion, but the broadcast still needs an active feed at the scheduled time.

Choose how to deliver the prerecorded videos
Software encoder on a computer
A software encoder sends the prepared content from a computer to YouTube. This gives you control over the local feed, but the computer, power, internet connection, and automation or restart process must remain dependable for the full broadcast. Confirm that your chosen encoder can play the intended playlist or otherwise provide a continuous video input.
Standalone hardware encoder
YouTube also supports standalone hardware encoders. Before buying or configuring one, verify that it accepts your video source, uses an encoding format supported by YouTube, and can provide the continuous playlist workflow you need. Hardware encoding is an option, not a requirement; YouTube’s guidance also describes software encoders.
Cloud service for 24/7 prerecorded streams
A cloud service can run the feed without keeping your home computer on. YouTube’s verified encoder directory describes Gyre as a cloud service for 24/7 streaming of prerecorded videos. That directory listing is not an endorsement or a guarantee of availability, reliability, pricing, or commercial terms; check those details with any provider before relying on it.

Connect the feed and check it before going live
- In YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, retrieve the stream URL and stream key for the scheduled event. Treat the key as a private credential: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your channel.
- Enter the stream URL and key in your encoder, or add the key in your cloud service’s YouTube connection settings. Check that the selected event and stream key match.
- Start the encoder or cloud feed early enough to inspect the incoming preview in Live Control Room. Confirm that both picture and audio are present and that the correct video is playing before the event begins.
- Once the preview is healthy, start the event using the controls in Live Control Room if it has not started automatically. Keep an eye on the stream rather than assuming prerecorded content means no monitoring is needed.

Plan network capacity and continuity
For a locally encoded feed, size your outbound connection for the total bitrate being sent, including a backup feed if you use one. YouTube recommends about 20% more outbound bandwidth than the required bitrate. The connection, power, and encoder all need to remain available; a failure in any of them can interrupt the broadcast.

Test the complete workflow before announcing a long event: start the feed, check the preview, verify audio and video, and test how your encoder or service recovers from a dropped connection. For a backup encoder, test failover rather than assuming it will take over cleanly.

Understand the archive limit for a 24/7 stream
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. A 24/7 broadcast exceeds that threshold, so do not rely on that guidance as a promise that the entire continuous session will be archived. If you need a complete recording, arrange a local recording or another archive workflow and verify current YouTube behavior for your setup.

The scheduled event is waiting, but no video appears
Scheduling did not start the feed. Start the encoder or cloud stream, check that it is using the correct stream URL and key, and look for an incoming preview in Live Control Room.

The preview is black or has no sound
Check the encoder’s selected video source and audio input, then confirm the content is playing. Inspect the incoming preview again before starting the event.
The stream drops or becomes unstable
Check that outbound bandwidth can handle the total bitrate with YouTube’s recommended headroom, and inspect the local connection, power, and encoder if you run the feed yourself. If you use a backup, test its failover behavior. For any cloud provider, confirm its recovery behavior and service terms rather than assuming a listing guarantees continuity.
The 24-hour broadcast is not fully archived
YouTube’s stated automatic archive guidance applies to streams under 12 hours. If a complete 24-hour recording matters, use a separate recording or archive workflow and verify what your setup captures.

Check channel verification, whether live-streaming restrictions apply within the preceding 90 days, and the age requirement in YouTube’s current eligibility guidance.
Protect the channel and its content
Keep the stream key private and use only videos you have the rights to broadcast. A continuous loop does not change copyright responsibilities or guarantee monetization. Review YouTube’s applicable copyright and monetization rules, especially if the videos include music, reused footage, or material licensed for limited uses.
