Bluehost may be worth considering for a new or growing WordPress site if its bundled features fit your needs and you can budget for the renewal price. Its introductory prices require a 36-month commitment, and plan value depends on more than the advertised monthly rate: check the full term cost, site and storage limits, support channels, and whether you need its e-commerce tools. The prices and features below are from Bluehost’s US WordPress pricing page, accessed October 7, 2026; offers can change.
What Bluehost’s current WordPress plans cost
The US WordPress pricing page lists the following prices for a 36-month initial term and a 36-month renewal term. These are hosting plan prices shown by Bluehost, not month-to-month rates.
| Plan | Introductory price | 36-month renewal price | Websites and storage | Listed fit and features |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $3.99 per month for 36 months | $9.99 per month for 36 months | 10 websites; 10 GB | First site or blog; chat support, no phone support |
| Business | $6.99 per month for 36 months | $13.99 per month for 36 months | 50 websites; 50 GB | Multiple sites; phone support and malware detection and removal |
| eCommerce Essentials | $14.99 per month for 36 months | $21.99 per month for 36 months | 100 websites; 100 GB | Store features, including payment processing and WooCommerce auto-install |
Source: Bluehost’s US WordPress hosting pricing page, accessed October 7, 2026. The listed monthly amount is tied to the stated 36-month term. At the same monthly rate across the full term, Starter totals $143.64 before applicable taxes, add-ons, or other charges; its 36-month renewal rate totals $359.64. Compare the checkout total and renewal terms, since promotional prices and included extras may change.

Bluehost’s plan page advertises features such as a free domain for the first year, free SSL, CDN, weekly backups, staging, and managed WordPress updates, with availability varying by plan. A “free” feature may be limited to the stated inclusion period or plan, so check its duration and renewal cost rather than assuming it stays free. Use the plan comparison to verify the features attached to the option you select.
#1 Best Overall
Starter: a lower-cost entry point
Starter lists capacity for 10 websites and 10 GB of storage. Its listed support is chat, without phone support. It may fit a small initial WordPress project if those limits and support channels are sufficient.
Business: more capacity and phone support
Business lists 50 websites and 50 GB of storage, along with phone support and malware detection and removal. Those additions may matter if you manage several sites or value a phone channel; they do not by themselves establish faster hosting or better support outcomes.
Rank #2
eCommerce Essentials: store-specific tools
The commerce tier lists 100 websites and 100 GB, payment processing, and WooCommerce auto-install. Consider it when you need those store features. If you do not, paying more for a commerce-oriented bundle may not improve the value of a basic site.
How to judge whether the renewal price is worth it
The 36-month renewal rates are substantially higher than the listed introductory prices. Compare the cost over the period you expect to keep the site, not just the first-term monthly figure. Bluehost’s renewal pricing help page lists other term and product details; make sure you are looking at the same product category and billing term before comparing figures.

- Calculate the commitment: confirm the checkout total for the initial term and the renewal rate for the same term.
- Check capacity: choose based on your actual number of sites and storage needs, not a large limit you are unlikely to use.
- Value support and security features: account for the support channels and listed security tools that matter to you.
- Pay for store functions only if needed: compare the e-commerce plan’s included tools with your actual requirements.
- Verify extras: confirm how long domain, backup, SSL, CDN, and other included features last and what they cost afterward.
Bluehost has a separate shared web-hosting product page. Its Starter offer is also listed at $3.99 per month for a 36-month term, with a $9.99 per month renewal for that term, but shared-hosting and WordPress plan labels are not interchangeable. Check the product page and checkout for the exact package you intend to buy: shared web hosting plans.
Refund terms and the free domain
Bluehost says hosting is covered by a 30-day money-back guarantee, subject to exceptions. Most add-ons, including domains, are not covered like hosting. If you cancel but keep a domain included at no charge, Bluehost says a non-refundable domain fee may be deducted from your refund. Read the current terms and guarantee details and review the checkout terms before purchasing.

What Bluehost’s uptime and WordPress claims establish
Bluehost advertises a 99.99% uptime SLA on its pricing material and describes its shared-hosting promise as based on server and Apache performance. These are Bluehost’s commitments and descriptions, not independent measurements of customer uptime. The reviewed material does not establish real-world uptime, page speed, comparative support quality, or a ranking against other hosts.

Quick Recap
Best Value
Who should consider Bluehost
- A new WordPress site: Starter may be a fit if you accept the three-year initial term, 10 GB storage limit, and chat-only support.
- Someone managing multiple sites: Business offers higher listed site and storage limits and phone support; weigh those against its higher initial and renewal prices.
- A WordPress store: eCommerce Essentials is the plan in this lineup with the listed payment processing and WooCommerce auto-install features.
- A buyer who needs independently verified performance: the official product and pricing pages do not provide independent speed or uptime evidence. Seek current, comparable test data before making performance a deciding factor.
