To join the One UI Beta Program in the UK, open Samsung Members on an eligible Galaxy phone, sign in with the Samsung Account linked to the device, and register through the Beta Program banner or card. If Samsung accepts your registration, install the beta from Settings > Software update > Download and install. Availability depends on the device, operating-system version, country and beta period, so a UK location alone does not guarantee access.
Check that your Galaxy device is eligible
Samsung limits beta participation to specific devices, OS versions and countries, and availability changes by beta period. Check the current listing in Samsung Members before making plans to install anything.
For context, Samsung Newsroom U.K. announced on May 13, 2026, that the One UI 9 beta was launching in select markets, including the UK, for Galaxy S26 series users. That announcement applies to that beta and date; it does not establish eligibility for every Galaxy model or a later beta. - Open Samsung Members on the Galaxy device you want to enroll, and sign in with the Samsung Account associated with it. Samsung requires an account to participate.
- Find the beta listing. Look for the One UI Beta Program in the app’s home banner or Beta Card. If it is not listed, Samsung’s guidance does not provide a way to assume eligibility or force enrollment; availability is tied to the device, OS version, country and active beta period.
- Submit the registration. Open the program registration and submit your intention to participate. Enrollment follows only if you meet Samsung’s criteria.
- Install the offered update. Once enrolled and the update is available, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Samsung also identifies the beta test detail page as an update route.
Samsung describes the program as voluntary and says participation has no fee, though data-network charges may apply. Wi-Fi is recommended for downloading the update. See Samsung’s One UI Beta participation guidance.
What “the UK method” does—and does not—mean
The official UK route is the same Samsung Members enrollment process: use the app to check for a program available to your device and market, then register if eligible. Samsung’s published instructions do not say that switching a device’s region, adding a UK SIM or eSIM, or connecting through a UK VPN makes an unsupported device eligible.

A Samsung Members community post dated June 13, 2026, describes changing region settings and using a UK SIM or VPN. It is an individual user’s post, not Samsung’s official procedure or evidence that the approach is reliable, supported or safe. Read the community post with that distinction in mind.
Back up before installing the beta
Samsung warns that beta software is for testing and may contain bugs, errors or inaccuracies. It can behave unexpectedly and may result in data loss. Back up the device before installing; Samsung recommends using Smart Switch on a computer. The beta is opt-in and used at the participant’s discretion and risk. Samsung UK’s One UI page provides its beta information and cautions.

How to leave the beta and return to official software
- In Samsung Members, go to Settings > Beta program settings > Withdraw from beta program.
- If you have already installed beta software, use Smart Switch for PC to roll back to official software. Samsung says rollback resets the device and removes data generated during beta testing.
- Restore a computer backup afterward if needed. If you registered but never installed the beta, Samsung says you can continue using the current official software after withdrawing.
Withdrawal and rollback are different: withdrawing ends program participation, while removing beta software already installed requires the reset described above. Follow Samsung’s One UI Beta guidance for the current instructions.

Installing a beta offers early access and the chance to provide feedback, but it also means accepting test software and the possibility of bugs, unexpected behavior and data loss. Returning from an installed beta can require a device reset. If you depend on your phone and cannot tolerate those risks or a reset, stay on official software until the beta is no longer necessary for your use.
