You can join a FaceTime call on a Samsung phone using a link sent by someone with an Apple device. FaceTime does not run as a native Samsung app, and this web-based method lets you join—not start—a FaceTime call.
Can I FaceTime on a Samsung phone?
Yes, if an iPhone, iPad, or Mac user creates a FaceTime link and sends it to you. Open the link in the latest Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on your Galaxy phone, then request to join. The person hosting the call must admit you. Apple’s FaceTime web instructions describe the Android joining process; Samsung also outlines it in its Galaxy video-call guidance.
This is a browser experience, not the FaceTime app. Apple says a link can be created on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch running iOS 15 or later, or on a Mac running macOS Monterey or later. FaceTime links are not supported in mainland China, and creating one is not supported on iPhone models purchased there.

How to join a FaceTime call on your Samsung
- Ask the person using an Apple device to create a FaceTime link and send it to you.
- Connect to strong Wi-Fi or mobile internet, then open the link in the latest Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
- Enter your name and tap Continue. If your browser asks, allow access to the microphone and camera.
- Tap Join and wait for the host to admit you. Tap Leave when you are ready to exit.
The host controls admission, so tapping Join does not put you straight into the conversation.

What works in FaceTime on the web—and what does not
Apple’s guidance says web participants can mute or unmute the microphone, turn the camera on or off, use full screen, and view group calls in a grid. You can switch between the front and rear cameras when that control is available.
SharePlay and screen sharing are not available on FaceTime web. The browser version therefore does not provide every feature of the FaceTime app.

Can a Samsung user start a FaceTime call?
Not through this Android browser workflow. A person using an Apple device has to create and share the FaceTime link. Google’s Android Help guidance says Chrome can join FaceTime calls but cannot make outgoing FaceTime calls.

Why can’t I join the FaceTime link?
- The host has not admitted you: After tapping Join, wait for the Apple-device user to approve your request.
- The browser is not current or supported: Try the latest Chrome or Microsoft Edge on Android, as Apple recommends.
- Camera or microphone access is blocked: Allow the browser to use the camera and microphone when prompted; check the browser’s permissions if you previously denied access.
- Your connection is weak: Apple recommends a strong Wi-Fi or mobile internet connection.
- Device or carrier behavior differs: Samsung cautions that video-call availability can vary by device and carrier. Apple’s cited guidance does not list compatibility by individual Galaxy model, so it does not establish that every model or carrier will behave identically.
- The link is being used in mainland China: Apple says FaceTime links are not supported there.
