The easiest way to install Kodi 21.3 Omega on a Fire TV Stick is with Amazon’s Downloader app. You do not need ADB Debugging for this method. You only need to allow Downloader to install an app, then download the correct Kodi APK from Kodi’s official servers.
Kodi’s Android download page currently lists two Kodi 21.3 packages: ARMV7A (32-bit) and ARMV8A (64-bit). Start with the 64-bit package if your Fire TV Stick supports it. If Android reports that the app cannot be installed, try the 32-bit package instead.
Before you start
- Your Fire TV Stick should be connected to the internet.
- You need the free Downloader app from the Amazon Appstore.
- Kodi does not include movies, live channels, or streaming subscriptions. It is a media-center application that uses your own local or network media and separately installed add-ons.
1. Show Developer Options on Fire TV
Amazon hides Developer Options until you unlock them.
- From the Fire TV home screen, open Settings.
- Select My Fire TV.
- Open About.
- Highlight the name of your Fire TV device.
- Press the select button on the remote seven times.
- Press Back once. Developer Options should now appear under My Fire TV.
On older Fire OS versions, the menu may instead be under Settings > Device > Developer Options or Settings > System > Developer Options.

2. Allow Downloader to install Kodi
- Open Settings > My Fire TV > Developer Options.
- Select Install Unknown App.
- Find Downloader in the list and switch it to On.
Newer Fire TV software uses this app-specific permission. It may not show the older, global Apps from Unknown Sources switch. Do not enable ADB Debugging for this installation method; Downloader does not use ADB.
3. Install Downloader
- Return to the Fire TV home screen.
- Open Find, choose Search, and search for Downloader.
- Select the Downloader app published for Fire TV and choose Get or Download.
- Open Downloader after installation. Accept any initial prompts that are required for it to access downloaded files.
4. Download the official Kodi 21.3 APK
When Downloader displays its URL field, enter one of these direct Kodi download addresses. Type the address carefully; old short codes found in older guides may point to Kodi 17 or Kodi 18 rather than Kodi 21.3.

These files are served through Kodi’s official download infrastructure. If you are unsure which architecture your Fire TV Stick uses, try the 64-bit APK first. A failed installation is a reason to try the official 32-bit APK; it is not a reason to download an APK from a third-party site.

- Enter the selected URL in Downloader’s address field.
- Select Go or the on-screen Download button.
- Wait for the APK to finish downloading.
5. Install Kodi
- When Downloader opens the Android installation prompt, select Install.
- Wait for the installation to complete.
- Select Done, then choose Open to launch Kodi.
Downloader may ask what to do with the downloaded APK after installation. Select Delete and confirm if you want to recover the storage space. Deleting the APK does not uninstall Kodi.
6. Find Kodi after installation
If you selected Done instead of Open, press the Home button and open Your Apps & Channels. Kodi may be near the end of the app list. Highlight Kodi and press the menu button on the remote if you want to move it nearer the front.

What to do if Kodi will not install
“App not installed” or an incompatible-app message
The most likely causes are an architecture mismatch, an existing incompatible Kodi installation, insufficient storage, or an APK that did not download correctly.
- Delete the downloaded APK in Downloader and download it again.
- If you tried the 64-bit URL, try the 32-bit ARM URL.
- Check Settings > My Fire TV > About > Storage and remove unused apps or downloads.
- If an older Kodi installation is present, do not uninstall it immediately if you need its settings. First consider whether the APK is a compatible update.
Downloader says it cannot install unknown apps
Return to Settings > My Fire TV > Developer Options > Install Unknown App and set Downloader to On. If your interface uses the older layout, look under Settings > Device > Developer Options or Settings > System > Developer Options.

Check that you entered the complete URL, including https://, the correct architecture directory, and the .apk filename. The current official filenames are:
kodi-21.3-Omega-arm64-v8a.apk
kodi-21.3-Omega-armeabi-v7a.apkAvoid relying on old Downloader short codes. They may redirect to discontinued Kodi versions.
Kodi opens but shows no content
That is normal after a fresh installation. Kodi’s official application does not come with a movie catalogue, TV channels, or subscriptions. Add your own media sources through Kodi’s file and media-library menus, or install legitimate add-ons separately. Kodi itself is not a replacement for a streaming subscription.

Updating Kodi later
When a newer compatible Kodi APK is released, repeat the Downloader process with the new official URL. Android may preserve Kodi’s settings when the new package is compatible, but a normal Downloader installation should not be treated as a guaranteed settings-preserving upgrade.
If Android treats the APK as incompatible or as a downgrade, it may reject the installation. Back up your Kodi profile before removing an existing installation if your settings and library data matter.
Optional: install Kodi with ADB
Downloader is simpler for most Fire TV owners. ADB is useful if you already have the Android platform-tools installed on a computer or need a command-line workflow. This method is separate from Downloader and does require ADB Debugging.
- On Fire TV, open Settings > My Fire TV > Developer Options.
- Turn on ADB Debugging.
- Find the Fire TV’s IP address under My Fire TV > About > Network.
- Put the computer and Fire TV on the same network.
- Download the appropriate Kodi APK to the computer.
- Open a terminal or command prompt in the folder containing the APK.
Run the following commands, replacing the placeholder with the Fire TV’s IP address:
adb kill-server
adb start-server
adb connect <ip-address-of-fire-tv>
adb install <apk-file-name>A successful connection reports a message similar to:

adb install -r <apk-file-name>If you deliberately need to downgrade Kodi, the documented package name is org.xbmc.kodi. The downgrade process removes the app while keeping its data, then installs the older APK:
adb uninstall -k org.xbmc.kodi
adb install <apk-file-name>Downgrading can still create compatibility problems, so back up Kodi before attempting it.

Is Kodi 21.3 Omega available for Fire TV Stick?
Kodi’s Android download page lists Kodi 21.3 Omega in ARMV7A 32-bit and ARMV8A 64-bit APK formats. Fire TV compatibility depends on the device and its Android/Fire OS environment, so use the official 64-bit package first and try the 32-bit package if installation fails.
Do I need ADB Debugging to install Kodi with Downloader?
No. Downloader installs the APK directly and only needs permission under Install Unknown App. ADB Debugging is required for the separate computer-based ADB method.

Which Kodi APK should I use on a Fire TV Stick?
Kodi publishes separate ARMV8A 64-bit and ARMV7A 32-bit packages rather than one universal Fire TV APK. Try ARMV8A first. If Android reports App not installed or an incompatibility error, use the official ARMV7A package.
Will installing Kodi delete my existing settings?
A compatible update can preserve settings, but a regular Downloader installation is not a guaranteed settings-preserving upgrade. Back up your Kodi profile before uninstalling, downgrading, or changing architectures.
Does Kodi come with free movies or live TV?
No. The official Kodi application contains no media content or subscriptions. You must add your own local or network media and handle add-ons separately.
