Install Iztek through your DayZ host’s Workshop controls together with CF and Dabs Framework, then install the map’s separate mission files. Upload the extracted empty.Iztek folder to mpmissions, rename it dayzOffline.Iztek, and set template="dayzOffline.Iztek" inside class Missions in serverDZ.cfg. The template string and folder name must match character-for-character.
The procedure below follows the Iztek-specific instructions published by Servers4Gamers on December 9, 2024, and adds the file, restart, and troubleshooting checks used by major DayZ hosting guides. Host panels change over time, so the current Workshop description and the ItsZarge/IztekMissionFiles repository should be checked before deployment.

Iztek is not installed by downloading one archive into one directory. A working server has three separate pieces:
- The map mod: install Iztek from the host’s Workshop or mod-management panel.
- Required dependencies: install CF and Dabs Framework as well. They must be enabled in the same launch configuration as Iztek.
- The mission files: download the map’s server mission package from the linked
ItsZarge/IztekMissionFilesrepository, then place and rename its mission folder undermpmissions.
The Workshop download supplies mod data, but it does not replace the mission template. A server can show Iztek as installed and still boot on the default terrain, fail to start, or reject connections when the mission folder is absent or named incorrectly.

Requirements checklist
- Access to your DayZ server’s Workshop or mod-installation controls.
- Access to the server file manager or SFTP/FTP account.
- Permission to edit
serverDZ.cfg. - A local utility that can extract the mission archive.
- A maintenance window long enough to stop the server, upload files, and restart it once.
Install Iztek through a managed hosting panel
The exact labels differ by host, but the Servers4Gamers workflow is the clearest Iztek-specific sequence. Keep the server offline while replacing mission files or editing its configuration.
- Stop the server if it is running. A running process can lock files, overwrite an upload during shutdown, or restart with a partially copied mission.
- Open the control panel’s Workshop tab. Use the panel’s normal mod search or Workshop-ID field rather than manually copying mod folders into an unknown location.
- Install CF, Dabs Framework, and Iztek. Confirm all three appear as installed and enabled in the launch configuration. If the panel offers an automatic restart after every installation, turn that option off until all three mods have been added.
- Open the server files and locate
serverDZ.cfg. Make a backup copy before editing so you can restore the previous configuration if the panel rejects the change. - Edit the mission template. Find the
class Missionssection and set the template totemplate="dayzOffline.Iztek". Preserve the quotation marks and spelling. - Download the mission package. Use the linked GitHub repository named
ItsZarge/IztekMissionFiles. Extract the archive on your computer until you can see the actualempty.Iztekdirectory; do not upload only the compressed file or an extra outer folder. - Upload the mission folder. Place
empty.Iztekdirectly inside the server’smpmissionsdirectory. - Rename the uploaded folder. Change
empty.IztektodayzOffline.Iztek. The capitalization, period, and spelling are significant. - Copy supplied key files if present. If the map package contains one or more
.bikeyfiles, put them in the server’skeysdirectory. A missing key can prevent clients from being accepted even when the terrain itself loads. - Save the configuration and restart once. Wait for the complete boot cycle before testing. Repeated automatic restarts during installation make it harder to tell which change caused a failure.
Put the mission files in the correct layout
After extraction and renaming, the important path should look like this:
mpmissions/dayzOffline.Iztek/The files from the repository must be inside that directory. A common upload mistake is creating a nested path such as mpmissions/dayzOffline.Iztek/empty.Iztek/... or mpmissions/IztekMissionFiles-main/empty.Iztek/.... The server reads the directory named by the template; it will not automatically search through extra archive folders.

Edit serverDZ.cfg without changing unrelated settings
Open the existing configuration and edit only the mission template unless the map creator or your host specifically requires another setting. The relevant section should contain the Iztek value inside class Missions:

};Your file may use different indentation or include additional mission classes. That is acceptable as long as the active mission entry contains exactly template="dayzOffline.Iztek" and remains inside class Missions. Do not add a file extension, a leading or trailing space in the value, or the name of the downloaded archive.
Why the names must be identical
The value after template= is a directory name, not a display label. The server combines it with mpmissions and attempts to open that path. If the configuration says dayzOffline.Iztek while the directory is still empty.Iztek, the server is looking in a location that does not exist. Likewise, a case difference such as dayzoffline.Iztek can fail on hosts whose file systems treat case as significant.

Verify the first boot
After the restart, use the panel’s console or log viewer before changing any other mods. A successful deployment should show the server progressing through normal startup without a missing-template, missing-path, dependency, or signature error. Then check the server browser and connect with a client that also has the required Workshop content.
- Confirm the server is online rather than repeatedly restarting.
- Confirm the loaded terrain is Iztek, not the default Chernarus or another previously configured mission.
- Confirm players are not rejected for missing keys or unsigned files.
- Confirm the server’s file manager still shows
mpmissions/dayzOffline.Iztekafter the restart. - Record the working configuration before installing additional mods.
Alternative installation routes when the panel behaves differently
Some hosts create a mission directory automatically; others require a manual upload. The underlying requirements remain the same.

Cybrancee documents the Additional Mods approach: enter the Workshop ID, start once to download files and create the mission folder, stop the server, and then edit the template. Shockbyte’s general custom-map guidance emphasizes stopping before changes, uploading mission content to mpmissions, copying any supplied .bikey files to keys, and following map-specific instructions when they differ. GGServers recommends WinSCP or FileZilla when a panel cannot upload folders directly. BisectHosting’s guide, updated April 28, 2026, likewise points administrators to the map’s linked mission repository and the required <MissionName>.<TerrainName> folder pattern.
Troubleshoot a server that does not load Iztek
Change one category at a time and read the startup log after each correction. The following order catches the most common failures without obscuring the original error.

This is the first check because it is the failure most directly identified by custom-map hosting guides. Compare the two strings character-by-character:
serverDZ.cfg: template="dayzOffline.Iztek"
server files: mpmissions/dayzOffline.IztekFix the folder or the configuration so both are identical, including capitalization and punctuation. Restart only after saving both changes.

2. The archive was uploaded instead of its contents
Open the remote directory and drill down until you find the actual mission files. If the only item inside mpmissions is a ZIP file or a repository wrapper directory, extract the archive locally and upload the contents again. The server must be able to open the mission files immediately below mpmissions/dayzOffline.Iztek.

The repository commonly supplies empty.Iztek. That name is the source folder, not the final template in the Servers4Gamers procedure. Rename it to dayzOffline.Iztek, then keep the same name in serverDZ.cfg.
4. A dependency is missing or disabled
Reopen the host’s Workshop or launch configuration and verify CF, Dabs Framework, and Iztek are all installed and enabled. Installing only the terrain can produce dependency errors or a failed boot. Avoid troubleshooting unrelated mods until these three entries are confirmed.
5. Key files are in the wrong place
If the log reports a signature or key problem, inspect the map package for .bikey files and copy them to the server’s top-level keys directory. Do not leave them inside mpmissions or an extracted archive subfolder.

6. The server was edited while running
Stop the server, wait until the process is fully offline, make the file replacement or configuration edit, and then start it again. A panel may display “stopped” before the underlying process has released its files; allow the status and console to settle before uploading.
7. The panel created a different mission directory
Some panels create a directory after the first startup from an Additional Mods entry. List the contents of mpmissions and identify the directory that actually contains the downloaded map files. Do not assume the generated name is the value you should keep. For Iztek, the documented final name is dayzOffline.Iztek; move or replace the mission files so that this exact path exists.
8. Logs show a path or dependency error after a recent update
Save the complete startup excerpt, check the current Workshop description and the ItsZarge/IztekMissionFiles repository for changed dependency names or layouts, and compare your files with the current instructions. Dependency versions and host-panel controls are not guaranteed to remain unchanged. Reinstalling unrelated mods first can hide the useful error.
Updating or reinstalling Iztek safely
- Read the current map Workshop description and mission-file repository notes for changed dependencies or folder names.
- Back up
serverDZ.cfg, the existingmpmissions/dayzOffline.Iztekdirectory, and any custom economy or spawn edits you made inside it. - Stop the server completely.
- Update CF, Dabs Framework, and Iztek through the host’s supported Workshop controls, following any required load-order or restart instruction.
- Download a fresh mission archive, extract it locally, and compare its files with your backup before replacing anything.
- Upload the new contents, preserve the final directory name
dayzOffline.Iztek, and restore only compatible custom edits. - Check that
serverDZ.cfgstill containstemplate="dayzOffline.Iztek"and that any new.bikeyfiles are inkeys. - Start the server and inspect the first boot log before allowing players to reconnect.
Do not assume an old mission package remains compatible with a newly updated map mod. The map creator’s current files take precedence over generic host instructions, while the exact template-folder match remains mandatory.
Managed panel or self-managed server: which is better for Iztek?
A managed panel is usually faster for a first installation because Workshop downloads, mod toggles, and restarts are exposed in one interface. Its limitations are hidden paths, restricted log access, and file managers that may mishandle nested archives. A self-managed server takes more setup but gives you direct control of SFTP paths, launch parameters, keys, backups, and startup logs.

- Choose a managed panel when you want guided Workshop installation and do not need to customize the underlying launch process.
- Choose direct file access when you regularly maintain several maps, merge mission changes, or need detailed logs to diagnose mod conflicts.
- In either case, keep a local copy of the working mission directory and configuration so a failed update can be rolled back.
Final pre-launch checklist
- The server is stopped while files and configuration are changed.
- CF, Dabs Framework, and Iztek are installed and enabled.
- The mission archive was extracted locally rather than uploaded as a ZIP.
- All extracted mission files are inside
mpmissions/dayzOffline.Iztek, with no extra wrapper directory. serverDZ.cfgcontainstemplate="dayzOffline.Iztek"insideclass Missions.- Any supplied
.bikeyfiles are in the server’skeysdirectory. - The configuration was saved and the server restarted only after the upload completed.
- The startup log was checked for dependency, path, signature, and mission errors.
- The live Workshop description and
ItsZarge/IztekMissionFilesrepository were reviewed for current changes before publishing the server.
